Blizzard essentially did that with World of Warcraft. They hired multiple players from Rob Pardo's EverQuest guild to lead development of WoW, so it's not completely unheard of within the company. | ||

I also heard he is the successor to Chuck Norris. Apparently, he's going to solo-develop Legacy of the Void while everybody at Blizzard looks on in amazement. He's also a Jedi. | ||
