Will be missed tt. edit: Just to expand a bit. I have a couple friends who have both played SC2 but maintain zero interest in it. However, somehow -god knows how, I don't think I could do it again- I got them both to watch the MVP vs Squirtle finals during a LAN session. They were both really impressed, enjoying it from start to finish.

Sorry that the news came over a Facebook message rather than a public announcement. I was unable to find the correct fitting team for Squirtle and he made this decision - which I respect. Next time I am in KR we have already planned to meet up! Will try get something from him for TL! I will miss Squirtle. I hope he considers a comeback for LotV. Looking forward to that little something for TL. ![]()

I remember calling that this guy would be good before he was seriously recognized by anyone and have been a fan ever since! So sad that he is leaving sc2! ![]()

It even seemed unfair for PartinG to steal so much of his spotlight due to better mechanics. He was one of my 5 favourite players and the main reason I started supporting Startale after oGs disbanded :/. A lot of the Koreans I found it easier to support are leaving the pro SC2 scene T.T.

Still remember the days when Startale had a 3 protoss core- Squirtle, Parting and Ace, with Parting having the strongest PvT but Squirtle being the most balanced and complete player. I loved his play, his peak happened when I started enjoying watching sc2 pro games. I always hoped he'd win a tournament, like ANY tournament, but it was not meant to be (I know he won a relatively minor one recently, long after I stopped watching sc2). The BC vortex will always be the best moment no matter how people try to criticize it being overrated. Hope he comes back for LotV

I meet Squirtle at the first Dreamhack I went to, DHS13, he was super chill, I got to take a picture with him and everything and he wasn't shy at all. Ever since his GSL final against Mvp I have waited for his next big turnup, he was truly a cleaver and creative player. Sad that GSL 2012 was his peak, however really happy that he got that far and that we got to experience such a cool and dynamic final because of him. Like honestly that archon toilet is one of the god damn benchmarks of GSL, and everyone should be thankful to Squirtle that he could put on such an amazing show. Good Luck in the future dear water Pokémon! You were the coolest!
