Go Polt! I am not under any illusions about his chances, though he's certainly not the biggest underdog at the tournament, but his greatest accomplishment was showing you can be a top SC2 pro and freely express your personality (unlike most Koreans) and also not be an obnoxious asshole (as have been most top foreigner pros, though certainly not all of them). He's a player I want to win because I like him, up there with fan favorites like Grubby and DIMAGA and White-Ra, but at a level they unfortunately have never approached in SC2.

Lovely write-up. I feel like he's a more stylistic player than this article makes him sound, but that would have gotten in the way of the tarot theme so I'll let it slide.

I didn't pay attention to the EU/NA scenes until this year, so the first time Polt really caught my eye was at Cologne. What an introduction to a player that was. Polt came out slaying Protoss left and right while all the other Terrans looked absolutely helpless. I've been rooting for him in every single event I've seen him in since. Charming personality, world-class mechanics, fantastic gameplay. What's not to adore?

He's gonna wipe the floor with Classic and I think he's got a very reasonable chance of taking herO out. Bomber might be a brick wall, though. Polt winning Blizzcon is probably the most entertaining possible outcome for attendees. He'll have no trouble rallying the crowd behind him after an interview or two.

Isn't Polt known for using way, way more Marauders than most Koreans in TvP? I seem to recall seeing armies of his that had no Marines in them at all.

We counted out Polt in the power of protoss era, back at IEM Cologne when the mightiest from KeSPA also invaded. There Polt got trough in first place in a group with JD, StarDust and Mana. He then back to back defeated Classic and Rain and nearly defeated HerO in three of the best TvP series of the year in what was probably the most magical run of the year. Had he won Polt would have been a legend.

I definitely wouldn't count him out against Classic.

Made me realize that I wasn't always a fan of Polt and actually rooted against him, since I wanted MarineKing to become OptimusPrime, since he was the player with more legacy.
Just goes to show that Polt would actually go ahead and build his own legacy.
So, I guess don't be sad, whenever some new player comes and win a tournament, they won't all not be able to repeat themselves and abandon ship, like Sniper did.
