lol, poor guys from EU/NA. Bomber gets Rain, Pigbaby gets Zest and Stardust gets Flash. Only one I would probably favour a little bit would be San over Byul.
yay, basically almost a free ride to the Finals for Rain, no one in his side of his challenge except for Flash are a threat, and Rain can still beat Flash, so yeah Hope Rain wins, hoping for a Rain vs Zest Finals

Classic vs Rogue and Flash vs StarDust are the two most hyped ones for me xDD
I actually think Rogue has pretty good chances here :D
I see here a Zest vs soO final. I think soO is still stronger then Flash or Rain. I`m just happy that the korean players get more WCS points so blizzonc will be more stacked, a bit unfortunate for Snute or Bunny, but well, the better players should win in the end.
Zest will do worse than everyone expects, he is nearing his downfall. Flash is on the rise and the only players that has a chance of stopping his rampage are Bomber, Rain or sOs. In my dreams a in form herO takes him down in the semifinals to go on and win the whole thing vs sOs going proxy =D
I predict Flash, Bomber, sOs and Rogue to do well.
I'm really looking forward to this tournament, it's going to be interesting to see players like Bomber and San, I've hardly seen any of their games. Favorites: Rain, Zest, Flash and soO. I'm hoping that Rogue gets far, really like him

Brutal bracket, as expected. Rain vs Bomber is my personal highlight, although I don't know, who to root for. Normally I'm a supporter of Bomber, but I also think Rain should be at Blizzcon. Argh, why can't it be Bomber-Sorry and Rain-herO?

there were qualifiers, not every bracket was equal in terms of skill, but he was able to beat decent players and jaedong was in the same bracket, i guess it's something. only the top two players of pl were invited as were the finalists of all WCS regions.
I think a lot of people underestimate action, that guy is insanely good.
Yeah. Action is seriously underrated. Sorry too. For perspective, in flash's current monster run, he's only lost to 3 people. That's maru, zest and action.

herO vs Sorry ? What are you smoking. That match has a lot higher chance to be good and even compared to Bomber vs Rain.
I haven't really seen much of Sorry's play to really judge how good of a match it will be, unfortunately. I do love TvP but again I have no experience with Sorry.
I suppose soO v Super and ByuL v San should be decent. Maybe even Classic v Rogue.
Such an insanely stacked tournament. I'm really getting excited for this, and it makes me glad that there are some more events to be found in Korea this year. Kind of went crazy with my predictions, but everyone is so good there are plenty of names that could upset and take the whole thing. The top quarter of the bracket feels pretty weak, but that might change if ByuL and Classic are on form. Terran is going to have a bad time, for the most part. I don't see either Reality or Sorry winning even their ro16 matches, and Bomber is up against a fantastic-looking Rain. Flash has, of course, been on fire lately, but this will be his first big test. It's time to see if he's ready to break out in SC2. I think the winner of Flash vs soO takes the whole thing. However wrong my brackets are, this is going to be a fun tournament to watch.
Pigbaby's chances against Zest? Probably pretty small, right, but not zero. Zest is arguably the best Protoss in the world but Pigbaby is hard to prepare for. Anyways, Pigbaby's last major matches he took down Taeja and Bomber in long series so Im quickly becoming a fan. Rooting for a Pigbaby win. Adding Zest to his kill list would make people notice.
9 Protoss, 4 Terran and 3 Zerg. More toss than there are the others combined. As a Zerg, I'm just not pumped for this event. Pretty gorgeous line-up of Toss, though.

He is but apparently they used whoever was top2 in proleague at the end of the 4th stage or whatever it is its called for proleague
I thought that they counted all wins in the regular season but ignored play-off wins. Maru only had the most if you counted play-offs. It makes sense to ignore play-offs because all-kill format makes things not very fair, as well as not all teams even being able to play in the play-offs.

Yeah, Kespa uses only regular season without playoffs (round playoffs or the finals, doesnt matter) so it is fair to everyone. Same is being used for things like season MVP etc.

Like I said I wasn't sure if Sorry even played any broadcasted matches. I'm assuming you mean the IEM qualifiers, as I don't see anything about Red bull on his aligulac page (less you've confused him with Journey who's very similar). Still, I'd give the foreign tournament performances of Snute more weight than a few good online qualifier showings.
I'm actually pretty disappointed with the players in the Kespa Cup. I would only consider about 5 out of the 16 to be "top-tier". I would have very much preferred if WCS season 2 and PL players were not used, because quite honestly, none of those players are playing that great. In addition, I would have preferred if they did multiple qualifiers for it instead of 8 smaller brackets, because those brackets had some serious imbalances. Just LOOK at the Innovation, Zest, Parting, TY, Stork, Mvp, Symbol, Ryung bracket. Then compare it to the one Sorry and Super won. I'd have actually taken any of the Ro8 players from Zest's bracket over Sorry or Super. Currently, this upcoming GSL is still many tiers ahead of the Kespa Cup, despite the Kespa Cup's goal being to have "the best players around the world".

Hahaha, because making it through the stacked KeSPA cup and IEM Toronto qualifiers and making it through his Code S Ro32 group just fine obviously means he is nearing his downfall.

How about 9 code S participations of which a bunch of top 16 and 1 top 4 finishes, a GSL super tournament win, 2 WCS titels AND results in foreign tournaments? No?
So far Sorry has played decent in a few online qualifiers, Reality's current top 16 Code S run is his best achievement in 2 years. That doesn't even begin to compare.
This anti-foreign Korean wankery is getting tiresome.

There were foreigners in the qualifiers. In the round of 16 of their bracket, at least (from Liquipedia): (jp) Vaisravana (pe) CatZ (pl) Jade (jp) ENZA (us) State (ua) Bly (mx) MajOr (cn) TooDming

I suspect it's going to be a bit rough for Bomber, who has his WCS-AM Ro16 matches on 9/9. Assuming he takes the redeye outta LAX that night, he lands in ICN afternoon of 9/11... for a match the very next day against Rain. At least KeSPA was nice enough to not make him play the day that he lands, but I still fear that Bomber may not be in top form when he absolutely needs to be.

Sorry didn't play RB qualifiers, so it is likely, that FMW didn't see him there. Also, the only players, he defeated this year offline, are Zoun, Bulldozer and Billowy, while Snute list includes TRUE, Stork, sOs and herO (twice), if you only look at the last two months. He had a good run in the IEM qualifier, but he eventually ended up not qualifying for the tourney, where Snute was the closest to eliminate the eventual champion (arguably tied with MC). And his kespa cup qualifier run, while still a good run, featured no players of the caliber, of the guys, Snute defeated recently.
To cut it short, I don't think, Sorry is as good as Snute. For that he would have to defeat a Code S player offline and he only did that once in his entire career (Symbol in Code A WCS season 3 2013).

I am afraid to see 6 protoss in RO8, hate PvP matchup ;(
Game 1 : Classic vs Rogue Game 2 : San vs ByuL Game 3 : Pigbaby vs Zest Game 4 : sOs vs Reality Game 5 : StarDust vs Flash Game 6 : soO vs Super Game 7 : herO vs Sorry Game 8 : Bomber vs Rain

Now THIS r016 is actually Blizzcon worthy.
...
9/16 players are the same as the current WCS top 16, Pigbaby is 17th.
With the exception of Rain (and he's just 1 good performance away from qualifying) and maybe Flash I really don't see that many players here who are better players for Blizzcon than Life, Taeja, Polt, Hyun, hell, even Snute has proven that he can go toe to toe with players of code S caliber on a good day ...
Finally somebody says it.
Is this lineup better than the top 16 for Blizzcon? Yes, but not by much at all.
eh, when I look at the WCS standings and see 7 players that are barely even in the top 50 worldwide, there's a problem. Just my opinion, of course.
I'd love for you to name those 7 as I've just pointed out the huge overlap with this tournament you think is so off the charts. Are you really arguing that Life, Taeja, Jaedong, ... aren't top 50? That's ... an interesting opinion.
Well idk about 7, ( or top 50 either) but I highly doubt that Stadust, MC, jjakji, or even Jaedong (as he's been playing lately) are as good as, say, Rain (ranked 22), Maru (26), TRUE (35), Parting (36) or Soulkey (50)
That isn't my point. With the exception of Rain (who I think is probably the best player in the world and definitely should be at Blizzcon) none of those are in the Kespa Cup either. But somehow Kespa Cup is awesomely stacked and Blizzcon is a joke ...
Fwiw, I wouldn't underestimate Stardust; MC even though past his prime, has proven that he's still dangerous even to players like Flash and jjakji, sadly, has fallen off a lot again since the end of last year/start of this year, when he was back in Code S shape. Jaedong is Jaedong, he'll bounce back up.
Anyway, this whole WCS points problem is still Korea's (or KeSPA's I should say) problem. It's hardly the rest of the worlds fault that they don't organize any tournaments in their home scene.

technically they do. It's the fact that there are a lot more organizers out there who want a little piece of the pie and host crap around the world with their own formats. It is what it is and they're umbrellas.
