I hope it won't be in Paris. And I hope also that french crowd won't be disappointed by english casters. Actually, I am rooting for it to be in Paris, that is the closest to where I live in Germany. :D It's the good thing about Paris. By train, it's 3h or less from London, Amsterdam, Brussels, western Germany. Pretty good location, even for non french esport fans. The catch is the price of the hotels for visitors and of the venue for DH. Well if you are willing to go in the suburbs you can find an hostel at 25-35 euros per night. Paris itself would be 40-45 euros per night. So its ok i guess, also i really depends on where would DH be. (Lowest price hostels ofc ) Anyhow your fellow French TLers will be there to guide everyone on where you should stay and how to find low prices They said me Lyon because Paris is to expensive. But paris is a guaranteed HUGE success offline wise. And DreamHack Paris sound better than DreamHack Lyon. haha. Also Paris has ibrahimovic. /thread DH Parc des princes confirmed.
One can dream ! ;p

Even though Paris isn't the best city for youth hostels, you can find beds in those at even less than 20 euros per night if you start looking early. I mean you're probably going to spend the week end in a venue anyway or at least roaming around the city, so I don't see why you would need any kind of fancy bedroom. And there is always the couchsurfing option which is very active in Paris ! Cheap is possible even in this city.

FInally a Dreamhack that might actually be affordable to travel too. French crowds always look lively too, should be a good one.

So it replaced Stockholm?

I have slowly lost interest in SC2 both playing and watching (still watch the finals of tournies where I can)... I've already warned my gf that I'm gonna go to this! Here's to the live experience reinvigorating the SC2 passion!

Paris is a cancerous, decaying, disgusting city. I hope it's not there.
If you disagree, it means you haven't seen all of Paris. I despise the city.

Why so violent man? You may have a bad experience in Paris, it is not the case for anybody. Also Paris is the center of all French transport network and most of the international connexion by train/airplane are done via Paris. It is simpler to go with Paris for international event but it is more expensive obviously.

Paris is the only city where MC goes (and he went to a LOT of places) and get his wallet stolen. Such a lovely place.

I "lost" (perhaps it was a pickpocket as I had never lost anything before, but I ll give it the benefit of the doubt) my wallet in DH valencia man, I m not going around telling everybody that Valencia sucks.
I still had a great experience in Valencia regardless.
One guy got his wallet stolen, it doesnt mean the whole city sucks!
As a Parisian, I agree that we have some issues with that (mostly subway/champs elysees), that Paris is a bit dirty and fairly expensive. But go to New York for instance, or London, and you ll see the same.
Whether you like it or not, Paris is the best place to organise an international event because it is the center of the French transportation network.
That's why the LCS were there too, and it seems everything went well there even though it was in the 19th district.
edit: regardless of the city though, it d be great. Grenoble is amazing and has a lot of students too As long as it s easily accessible by transportation it s fine. Lorning! I wanna meet you in person! I ll have you take a picture with my CJ bandana! :p

Paris is the epitome of everything that is wrong with France and I'm not talking about grimy public transport.
I would love it for DH to be at Strasbourg. Nice and close to the German border so we can get our Knuddel friends to come, beautiful city, it's close to Belgium and Holland, etc.

I guess it gonna be in Paris...
I hope it gonna be a success but I am a bit unsure about that. :-/

Know it'll be a a great success.. Gotta love the DH series. Personally my fav of all time, GL all

If he got stolen at or near the Meltdown, it is known that the neighborhood is known for having pickpockets and that the bar itself has been the target for a couple of month of pickpocketing too. Got 2 friends that are regular customer got stolen their wallet there.
But I agree with GTB-Ball above basically you could get your wallet stolen in every single city basically it's just a matter of bad luck. I love how french people despise Paris and people living in it but that never experience living in paris. I have a scoop for you bros, lot's of parisian are actually people coming from other cities for work. I'm from Grenoble, it is a nice city but so is Paris. I didn't instantly changed into a butthurt stereotypical Parisian as soon as I step my foot in the capital.
Incognito I don't know what make you cause that hate but the words you use... damn it seems you hate Paris deep in your heart.

Do we know when Tickets are going to sell ? Now that we know the location ?

Great choice, France gives the biggest crowds in Europe
One suggestion for the players: going to strip clubs in Paris after the tournament is NOT recommended.
