It needs an offical translation, but it looks like startale WILL be participating in the next season of proleague and is currently looking for new players to bolster their lineup.
Side note: as a huge startale fan, this is a big move that makes me so happy
I hope they'll join Kespa with redbull as the "official sponsor". I remember a ways back there was a rumor that they were going to become the RedBull Stars

Finally a thematic replacement for Woongjin, haha
Who do you guys think might join them? I'd love to see Bomber brought back in the fold, at least when he doesn't have too many foreign commitments to uphold. Maybe also Dear.
Not to poop on anyone's party, but by google translating the article, it says "rookie" several times. So i don't know if they are planning on picking up big names. I think they just might be fostering new talent instead.
I hope ST gets a strong lineup. Symbol/Squirtle are available free agents and some IM players are also. Life/Trap/Byul/Curious could be a fairly strong lineup. Or Life/Trap/Byul/Curious/Symbol/Hack/Squirtle if we get Bo7 (pls)

TB has stated many times Axiom won't be in PL just because of how long PL lasts. Most of his players play in WCS AM and can't be in AM and KR at the same time to do WCS and PL matches, I'm pretty sure he said it's not viable for sponsors either, Axiom doesn't have KR sponsors, PL is best for teams with KR sponsors. Plus if the players themselves don't want to play in PL then he isn't going to force them to.
Only way we're likely to see AxiomAcer players is if some kind of partnership deal is set up for Impact or Inno with one of the PL teams given that they're the only AxAcer players who play in the GSL currently.
In all honesty, if you're a free agent in Korea with no team making any effort to approach you, wouldn't this be a pretty good opportunity? I mean, getting to play in Proleague does two things for you: A) You retain your skill (mostly... Squirtle) B) You get exposure
While there are no real disadvantages I can think of. If you're not getting picked up by a foreign team, it seems unlikely that the average Korean pro would be able to go overseas for international tournaments. So at least until another team shows interest, wouldn't going to ST be pretty much the best option? Take Dear or Symbol for example. Unless they have other teams lining up, ST is better than no team for multiple reasons, and I don't really see a bad side to this.
Hopefully the pros see this the same way and ST will win the 2014-2015 Proleague finals 4-3 over CJ Entus

So happy to hear this, i was glad that Startale could have a partnership with IM but now that they're just their own team in Proleague that's going to be awesome Also it would be insane if Squirtle joined Startale again :D

actually this sounds even more awesome.. brand new rookies into the sc2 scene... that's what sc2 needs right now! :D

Sounds cool of course but not great if ST is planning on being a big contender

This is correct. They will most likely not recruit any big name players. They're looking to foster new talent.

Sounds like a long term plan? A few months ago I was afraid StarTale's gonna disband and IM's gonna stand strong; seems to be the other way round. Which is bad as well, but lately StarTale was quite a bit stronger then IM. :o
I think they are looking for rookies because they need b-teamer to have decent practice for the preparation format. Solar confirmed on stream that most Kespa a-teamers mainly practice using inhouse custom games and you need a lot of b-teamers for that.
I wonder who they will pick up. Probably not Dear, not sure if he would even want to join but how about Journey? I think he would be pretty nice pick. Anyways really great news and hope to see ST in PL next season.
Im curious how different Startale's 'rookie program' would compare to some of the more established e-sports team's in KESPA would be? The rookies going to be B-team fodder for practice? or to actually make contribution to the lineup?
Guess ST will sign 1 or 2 decent players, preferably toss, to form the core with Life and Hack. The rest will be rotated and/or used as practice partner. Hope they will build a truely competent team And plz no merc no partnership plz

Dear/Symbol/Bomber/Life/Panic/Pet/Trap/Byul
I guess that'd be okay
This would instantly become my new favorite lineup. So many likeable players...

Depends. If the landscape changes in 2015 and Proleague needs a team to fill out the roster, we would play for the benefit of the fans. It is so important that Korean Starcraft stays alive, a collapse of the infrastructure over there could easily doom the game.

As long as thats the criteria for you to go to PL I hope you never join the league. Would really like for a not doomed starcraft!

Good question. Axiom probably does not have the depth to sustain a season of PL by themselves.
I beg my pardon, but all this partnership/merging stuff is no good for such an established league as SPL. I really hope that Kespa does everything to prevent such things in the next season. Eg/TL (with park) was fun to watch, Stim was such a joke. Overall, STIM was the worst team in the season. The IDEA behind the team is essential. ONE GOAL ONE DREAM. Best example of that was PRIME. Struggling in every round they showed so much passion and hunger for victory, creator/Mkp combo just made my cry several times. These guys played as one. On the other hand, temporary unions only bring disorientation and blur both tream's goals.

You do realize that Prime was way worse than IM in PL this season, right?
Anyway, I kinda agree with you but mostly because partnerships are temporary and we all want stuff that goes in the long run...

On stats, yes. But noone exept BuyL showed any decent performance and passion. STIM was faceless. That's what im talking about. But i guess u got my point anywayz. U'r a Cj fan after all =)
I mean, any player that ST develops will get a better contract at one of the 5 brand name teams. So the brand name teams get the hype, so they get the sponsors, so they get the dollars, so they get to poach promising rookies.

Or was it always like that?
Rookie Draft worked differently than this, more like NBA draft. It would be fun if it came back but I'm not sure if it would work in today's SC infrastucture

Nono, Prime was the "joke". Prime was basically a shitty amateur clan trying to compete with professional teams. Players like Terror, Kassia, Departure couldn't even have made a debut in proleague if they were on other 'pro' teams. Look how they used Creator who should've been a PvP sniper rather than being dragged out to every ace match (if Prime somehow made it ) hoping for opponent team to send a protoss. Their roster got slightly better after MKP returned from retirement. but even MKP couldn't save Prime from being the worst team in proleague.

Prime had heart this season. MKP/Creator/Salvation were a joy to watch. I thought we would see some Leenock too since he joined their roster but no show :/.

I think you mean, "There are so many errors in there." No eye bleeding here just pointing out errors.
Though they are looking for rookies and new talents, I hope they pick up at least one established player like Dear or RagnaroK to help them out. Right now their lineup lacks big names and getting just one or two would help immensely.

I feel like at this point, with MKP leaving Prime, KeSPA needs to do one of two things: (a) get Prime to confirm that they will sign at least two strong free-agents to make them somewhat competitive (and let's be honest, with the sole exception of ByuN I think Prime has never signed an established SC2 player in their entire history), or (b) require StarTale and Prime to compete together as a single team. Life/Hack/Curious/Creator would be a decent top four and they could swap in Panic/SalvatioN/KassiA, who have also shown some skill, as appropriate.
And then KeSPA should re-make an 8th team to round out the SPL lineup =D There are still decent free agents out there: I'm sure not EVERYONE on "old" MVP hated playing in SPL, JYP and Arthur just became teamless, SuperNova is probably still in Korea and may be available for a partnership, Trap is teamless and could be an ace for a new team, etc.
