When ROOT Gaming reformed in May 2012, there was a player we knew we had to have. ViBE is someone we had wanted for the original incarnation of ROOT, but he had been under contract with Sixjax which made it impossible. Luckily, when the opportunity came again, ViBE was available and ROOT welcomed him to the family. That year he would go on to win WCS USA and take 2nd in WCS NA, only falling to Scarlett. He would be a constant fixture of WCS NA Premier throughout 2013, as well as a participant in several Red Bull events. He would be invited to take part in the Heart of the Swarm Global Invasion Launch Event in Irvine alongside Suppy, Polt and MC. He has won about $30,000 since joining ROOT, putting him at #6 on the NA earnings list. He has been a good player and a great friend.
Unfortunately, nothing lasts forever. After over 2 years in the ROOT jersey, ViBE and ROOT will be parting ways. ViBE had this to say about his decision:

We will continue to play with and ROOT for Dan whether he's wearing our jersey or not, and we hope you will too. He's a great player and a fantastic guy. We're lucky to have had him as a part of ROOT Gaming.

Hopefully there is another announcement coming soon and this won't bleed into a retirement. He is top end NA talent when he is playing full time.

has vibe even participated in any of the recent wcs after his run since the first wcs? feels like he hasnt participated much in recent tournament... hopefully vibe will join a team and start making himself a known force among NA zergs :D

Damn sad day for ROOT for sure. When I went to MLG as part of ROOT Management I got to chill with ViBE a lot and gave him a ride to the airport after MLG. Definitely one of the coolest and nicest guys in E-Sports. Best of luck Dan!

Gl finding a new team. Great games at rebull. That game vs Josiah where he was down to 9 drones and still came back vs a cannon rush. That was spectacular. I seen Vibe do that kind of thing all the time on his stream.

I feel very confused by this, if Vibe will keep on playing and ROOT is family, why leave o_o
Vibe is also what I feel the most competitive player on ROOT, Major just keeps on joining and leaving and Masa/Iaguz hasn't really broken through yet.
Anyway GL in the future and I really hope to see you doing better and better in the future, also congrats on being back in WCS.

I posted on the TL thread and I'll post here too just to clear up some possible questions. I love ROOT, me leaving the team was in no way a personal issue which is rare in esports I feel. It was a financial issue and basically the truth of it is, if I didn't do this I would have run out of my dirty WCS money within a year by traveling so much. ROOT's hands are tied with the team house and all. Also I'm not retiring and the thought never even crosses my mind, I'm going to be doing this stuff for a very long time. Love you guys and I always appreciate the support of this community.
