Acer.Scarlett came out on top at Red Bull Battle Grounds: North America, winning three consecutive best-of-three series against CMStorm_Polt to clinch the championship.
Red Bull North America -- the first tournament in Red Bull's 2014 SC2 circuit -- featured an innovative format (details) where each of the six competitors started with three "lives." With each player taking turns to challenge one another to a match, there was no small amount of intrigue involved as everyone looked to maximize their chances of survival.
IvD.puCK was the open target on day one, and suffered elimination with three losses despite winning three series as well. More elimination followed on day two, with viOLet and EG.HuK becoming the next two players to be targeted and eliminated by their peers.
The third final day saw just MajOr (1 life), Polt (3 lives) and Scarlett (2 lives) remaining in the competition. MajOr quickly had his last life taken off him by Polt, leaving Polt and Scarlett to contest the title one on one.
Despite having a 3-2 advantage in lives, Polt was unable to overcome Scarlett's formidable ZvT. Scarlett demonstrated her mastery over the muta-ling-bane composition, looking largely untroubled as she fended off all of Polt's aggression. Scarlett took a surprisingly easy victory in the end, taking three straight series off Polt by a combined map score of 6-1.
Scarlett takes home $4600 for being the sole survivor, as well as claiming a spot in the Red Bull Grand Finals to be held in September. The next live Red Bull event will be held on July 11-13 from Atlanta, Georgia.

I didn't know that anyone on earth could go 6-1 against Polt. I mean, Polt wasn't on fire or anything, but he certainly didn't seem to be off of his game to me. Was just an amazing performance from Scarlett.

Scarlett is the best foreigner at the moment I think :D Well played to both Polt and Scarlett! Scarlett has the undisputed best ZvT of Foreigners, even if she may not be the best foreigner (Which I still think she is!)

Scarlett played unbelievably well vs. Polt Really impressive to watch. She definitely deserved the win here.

Scarlett and Vortix are super close. Snute is right behind those two. I dunno.

Scarlett played like a beast this entire tournament, huge props to her!!! Can't wait to see her at the Red Bull finals in DC!!!

Lets not downplay Majors two games. He played really well, with korean level control, drops and positioning. He also took the battle to Polt several times. But then Polt went all Polt on him and won 2-0.

She never stopped being the best foreigner. She has ripped in pieces even high caliber korean players, she's more than the best foreigner.

I have always thought she was the best, (even with Naniwa) however many people have been labeling Vortix and Snute as the best, and I want to make it clear that she is the best :D
