The IEM Shenzhen American qualifier concluded with the Terran duo of CMStorm_Polt and ROOT_MaSa earning spots in the Ro16 stage of the upcoming tournament. Notable North American players such as viOlet, Huk, PuCK and Illusion came close to making the cut, but were eliminated in the end.

Snute previously qualified from the European region. Qualifiers still remain for China (1 spot) and the rest of Asia (3 spots). IEM Shenzhen will be held between July 16th and 21st.

I feel like I've watched the same qualifier play out like 10 times this year, with all the NA qualifiers (MLG, Season 2 challenger, Red Bull, IEM, etc) having almost the same people in them.

I'm really happy to see that MaSa made it. I've been a huge fan of his play since he was on Team Nightmares (NMx) back in 2012. His journey and improvement has been fun to watch, and he recently smashed me in the Miraculous Gaming Open Tournament which was very cool.

Gratz to Masa who just keeps looking better and better. He also went 5-0 in maps against Illusion, the guy who came in third. Masa is one of the people who gives me hope about NA talent.

From the looks of it there will be an open bracket for the Chinese, much like how in IEM Sao Paulo there was an open bracket full of Brazilians.

Smaller pool of notable players, IMO. I'm glad we have Polt and viOlet to give us credible players on the ladder to give NA players the chance to play top level players.
