As his contract ran out on May 31st, Juan "VortiX" Moreno and mousesports agreed on not renewing the contract and to part ways in the future. VortiX will be a Free Agent after Tuesday's Season Finale in the TeamStory Cup against yoe Flash Wolves. In May 2013, Juan "VortiX" Moreno Durán and his brother LucifroN joined mousesports to strengthen the club's StarCraft II roster. While his older brother decided to leave the professional gaming scene to fully focus on his studies a few months ago, his brother VortiX pushed his pro gaming career, doing well in the WCS season as well as in the Team Story Cup with mousesports. Today, the remaining one of the two brothers and mousesports part ways, as VortiX' contract expired on May 31st and is not going to be renewed, as both parties agreed on not extending the player's contract for 2014. We would like to thank Juan for his time and effort put into the mouz StarCraft II team and his commitment to professional gaming, especially while handling his studies at the same time. Together we will share a lot of good memories we will never forget and we wish Juan the very best, both for his educational as well as his gaming career. In his last game with mousesports, VortiX will once more compete in Tuesday's Season Finale of the Acer TeamStory Cup Season 3 against yoe Flash Wolves, becoming a Free Agent afterwards.
Juan "VortiX" Moreno Durán: "I want to thank mousesports for the year we've both had together and for giving me the chance to become a professional in the esports sector. They were always nice to me and it's a period I will never forget. Sadly we both think it's better for us to part ways and look for other possibilities. I also want to thank my former teammates HasuObs, HeroMarine, Starbuck and to any other player that I shared team with during this year for always being nice and ready to help with practise when needed, and I wish them good luck eventhough I'm sure they will do good."
Markus "mouz MaX" Kemper: "I'm grateful for VortiX' time and efforts in our team. Our cooperation however now comes to an end and we believe that it can be a change for the better for both sides. I want to wish Juan all the best for his personal life as well for his further career in esports."

so the rumors were true after all... Pretty shitty news, can only mean that mouz is in a dire spot in my opinion. He was by far their best player.
I doubt the team will last much longer when Starbuck's and Hasu's contracts end.

i dont think anyone saw this coming... i mean mouz looked fairly stable when they recruited Dear... but honestly the Duran brothers leaving is a sad news for mouz

only 3 players in SC2 roster, they can"t even play their last match vs yoe Flash Wolves to qualify for ATC playoffs

Well this is quite unexpected.
I hope he finds new (good) team!

What will mouz do if they qualify for the ATC playoffs? They need 4 players right? Anyway, hoping Vortix finds the best possible team! He deserve a good team

wow so if mouz qualifiers for finals, no vortix in krefeld ? that sucks balls rly big big balls
also mouz NEED another player then to continue playing in atc ...
super sad vortix was such a perfect fitting for mouz

EG Vortix! There were rumors EG wanted him prior to mousesports
|
fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck. I'm sooo sad and somehow pissed off right now. I thought mouz had big plans for the best possible all-euro roster. I think this is the final step into being mediocre :/ Now they better recruit Euro stars from smaller teams like Elfi, Welmu, Stephano or even Happy. Most of Europe's top is already in a good team. Quo vadis, mouz? Maybe Targa, Harstem, Dayshi, Tefel, ShoWTimE or LiveZerg can somehow be won? No one to match Vortix tho, shit news, really.
|
You have to kinda support YFW to qualify now, because trying to compete in the play offs would be stupid. They;d have to forfeit maps.
I suppose we could see Roccat Vortix

Terrible news for mousesports fans imo. They need to sign new players asap, can't even play ATC right now.

They were doing so well in ATC. What will they do if they make it to the playoffs?
Best of luck to you Vortix. I know you'll get a good team in no time.

Liquid already has 3 foreign zergs, idk if they would jump to signing him so quickly. I could see a team like XMG picking him up, but right now the team market looks bleak

I don't think that Elfi (retired), Stephano (got a new sponsor a few weeks ago), Targa (joined a new team a month or so ago) or any of the others gonna be joining mouz. Maybe ShoWTimE the best bet, but what tourneys does he play other than EPS? Don't think they will buy a very well known player. Maybe some German newcomer (if there are any atm...)

I i am not mistaken, showtime was in WCS Ro16 at the end of season 3 last year. Wouldn't be a bad pic Imo, but he already has a team

Interesting, I can't help but feel like he would be heading to Asia. He doesn't quite feel Liquid in the same way that Mana did.

As soon as their team is doing decently again after a streak of bad results mouz are bound lose their standout players to resort to the previous state. Guess you can stop paying attention to them again, strategy totally worked out.

Sorry buddy, I think this is the end for mouz.sc2
Edit: despite the history of mouz, I think this last chapter in their sc2 history has been pretty woeful. Mismanagement of Dear and the Moreno brothers combined with a lack of direction means they should probably call it quits from sc2.

This is so gonna be an EG pickup.

How intriguing!
Unfortunate that mouz's SC2 division is getting gutted like this
hopefully they announce some new signings, and hopefully VortiX finds a new team that will send him to a lot of events

Lqiuid needs another Zerg, it has become too Terran and Toss dominated with the aquisition of Bunny and Mana, Liquid'Vortix only reasonable course of action.

That's so sad. I'm rooting hard for mouz in ATC now that Millenium is out and VortiX is one of the main reasons they're doing that well (Starbuck is helipng a lot too). Now that he's gone, they don't have a lot of chances in the playoffs. :[
Sad news, unless it leads to an exciting one.
|
mouz.SC2 won't end as long as hasu has any interest in the game. the two are destined to e together forever.

Expected but nevertheless sad news. Even if Mouz beats YFW and makes it to the ATC playoff they won't have enough players to compete. Will continue rooting for the players, but can't support a team that decided to give up on Mana and Vortix. Hope it will be Liquid.Vortix
|
I seriously doubt he would go to Liquid. It just doesn't seem like the right time for it.

Who said mouz gave up on anyone? Everyone has budget constraints - seems to me like they were holding out for offers of higher salaries and they never materialized, that is absolutely not the same as giving up on someone.

SC2 is at a point where teams are going to offer new contracts to SC2 players at a much lower rate and it's going to be take it or leave it.
|
Too bad the SC2 scene is dying... probably only decent teams for him left which are not fully korean are like Acer, TL and maybe EG...
|
Hmmm, I think he'll either go to Fnatic, Millenium or to a lesser known Spanish team.
|
|
Mh i wonder who picks him up next...

In a perfect world (in my mind), mouz will recruit more top Europeans and those Europeans will grow into championship material players. Good luck to them, because that's a tough thing to do!
The real issue here is VortiX. He's so good, he should be able to find any teams, but will those teams offer him what he wants? Wish for the best for him, and a speedy reclaiming of his fiscal foundation. And ofc I hope to see him winning some more tournaments soon!

Damn, pretty scary for the SC2 mouz.... I don't see them picking players right now. They had fantastic players and let them go. I mean, it felt quite like home for a few of them (ThorZaIN, MaNa, even the Moreno brothers), and I can't believe it was just a matter of money. There must be something else.
Hopefully we'll still see Hasu playing indefinitely on mouz. This guy is just so cool on mouz (though he lacks consistency), and I'd be reaaaaaaally sad if he left...
|
As with everyone, I do wonder what team Vortix will end up going to.
But Hasu leaving mouz is as unusual and scary as Kas leaving Empire. You don't think it would happen, but it could if mouz folds up their SC2 division.
|
liquid'vortix for a truly terrifying foreign lineup: TLO, Snute, Vortix, Bunny...I guess it's vulnerable to a vZ expert but still
|
For Liquid, a Mouz win in the ATC would be really great because they would get to face a Vortix-less Mouz in the first round of the ATC playoffs. For Mouz, I don't even know how they'll manage to field players for a Bo9. Double ace revive?
|
I dunno why people are so insistent that he will join Team Liquid? There is no chance of this. Liquid already have Snute and TLO. They are not looking for another foreign zerg. Millenium is far more likely because they recently lost BabyKnight.
|
Wow, this is surprising. Vortix still putting up results, though. Sure he'll find a home.
|

Doesn't matter, new ones will arise from the ashes of their fallen predecessors. It is the circle of life.

Well I can't imagine Team dog's contract being cheap, there is competition between sponsors in dota for good teams. This must have affected their budget for SC2.

Well I'm sure he won't have a hard time finding a team with the results he's had lately. Always continues to be a strong player in the foreign scene. Honestly, I think mouz lost a solid guy here.
