Great groups for the Round of 16. Only thing that would have made it better is if Stephano or Demu made it through.
First, Grubby Welmu, MC Snute, Vortix San, StarDust
|
gogo MaNa/Grubby, MC/ToD, VortiX/Snute, LiveZerg/Nerchio!
|
Want Grubby to win so badly!

if there ever was a time where koreans wont be making it further then foreigners its now.

Hmm, Welmu and ToD better prepare hard... And I mean VERY VERY hard.. MC got a team-kill on his hands, means that the boss-toss is on RAGE now
AND - I agree that foreigners got the worst group picks possible overall:
A - Grubby/Mana rivalry under the consent of First, And ALL Golden has to do is to find a good Protoss to train and they're possibly dead too.. Not just Mana/Grubster, but also not gonna be surprised see First fighting for dear life in loser match also B - Welmu/ToD under the consent of angered MC/Yoda team-kill (yikes, think that Welmu is a good PvP player, but he practised a lot of other matchups neglecting that one lately IMO) C - Snute/Vortix in the same group - never a good call D - Unless LiveZerg gets his PvZ on another level - he won't be able to defeat Stardust/San.. Or more like reverse - they saw some of LZ's games recently, gonna study him, and tear him apart.. And although very solid play lately - think he's pretty easy predictable player overall.. Especially the case in ZvP where most things are pre-defined and unless playing a wild style like say Life - then most things seem "set in stone" and overall hard for a Zerg to handle a good positional Protoss
Hope that one foreigner gets in the finals though - Snute or Vortix vs some of the Korean Protoss represents would be a great final IMO
|
Except LiveZerg (and maybe ToD), I really think that all the Europeans have a good chance to go in RO8. The Koreans playing in Europe (except MC and San) are clearly less strong than the Korean playing in other regions and all the foreigners in RO16 have already won games against them in other tournaments.
RO16 will be exciting but I am worry about 7/8 protoss for RO8...

if they're not good enough there's no format to save them from the losses they deserve

(and yeah - having a FvsK final is probably as best as ESports can go)

Might as well throw this in from the LR thread. It's a small compilation of the players reacting to their Ro16 group draws.

Golden is motivated!
So is Mana, but more relieved than anything.
Grubby hasn't tweeted about his Ro16 group.
Group B: + Show Spoiler +MC will always be MC.
But a new Challenger is approaching!
ToD is less than thrilled about the draw.
But Yoda is really bummed about the draw.
Welmu hasn't Tweeted about his Ro16 group.
Group C: + Show Spoiler +Harstem is trying to be realistic for himself.
Snute's just chillin, man.
ForGG is playing coy about his thoughts.
Vortix hasn't Tweeted about his o16 group.
Group D: + Show Spoiler +Nobody has tweeted anything! D:

Liquid team-kill suspiciously absent. You can do better than that!

Terran got this tournament easily. So strong drop play. Blizz may want to look into removing drop ship turbocharge to promote more entertaining gameplay.

Golden picture is awesome! :D <3 when players do some "trash talk". Always a good fun!

Lot of chances for Europeans to make it to the Ro8.
All depends how it shakes out.

Heart: A: Grubby + Mana B: MC + YoDa C: Snute + Harstem D: Nerchio + Livezerg
Head: A: First + Grubby B: MC + YoDa C: ForGG + Snute D: San + Stardust
I hope we see more than 1 foreigner and less than 7 Protoss

Foreigners are already too good for WCS EU. This is EU, Mana & Grubby etc aren't foreigners in EU. I only watch WCS KR (because only KR players) and EU (watch only EU players).
if they're not good enough there's no format to save them from the losses they deserve
Aha, players that isnt good in a region should play in a weaker region (what many koreans did)? However, nice logic by you.

i can see forgg getting knocked out. vortix and snute have some pretty sick zvt
