Because he's always very sad about too much protoss and not enough terran at HSC. ForGG was at an ATC final right? and he actually speaks a little english right? not sure. Ya true that, longer than a weekend is too much and i'm not a fan of forcing players to stay up and be ready to play for 10 hours in a row. Its really nice as it is, just so sad that its impossible to fit more players in there, i could name like 15 more i'd like to see. Obviously there would be more work for the organizers to hold such qualifiers, but at the same time, such qualifiers would also attract viewers like myself. ![]() The real disadvantage I see with the current system, where 80% or so can get in on an invite, is that players who are less known, or don't know the organizers well, or aren't so much liked for whatever real or imagined reason, may never get any invites anywhere. Not saying that it happens in this particular tournament, just saying that it would be a bit more fair to all players out there, trying to make a living, if the number of players that could get in through qualifiers increased drastically. Also, having more players from qualifiers than invites would in a sense automatically give more legitimacy to any tournament with WCS points. ![]()

also with qualifiers you have the problem that you cant pay travel costs for everyone and then you have people that deserve a spot that cant attend. Which happened in 4 cases for this HSC. It doesnt help anyone if lesser known players qualify but they cant afford to attend because they dont have a team. And TaKeTV cant afford to pay it either, HSC is already unprofitable on its own. Invites are a neccesity in the current situation for esports. You invite the players than can afford to come.

Every 32 player WCS Global Event so far has had a minimum of 8 qualifier spots.
