The final full day of WCS America Challenger play has wrapped and 31 out of 32 Premier League spots have been filled for Season 2. EG.Jaedong, ZoO.Top, HKA.Sen, and NesTea held off spirited challenges from their opponents, all earning returns to the Premier League for one more season.
Jaedong earned a predictable win over NonY, but the series was not without surprises. NonY put up a good fight against the Lone Star Champion and even managed to take a map off the Tyrant in an hour-long brawl on Waystation. While that may be only a small consolation after being sent back down to the qualifiers, NonY showed that he can compete with one of the best of WCS America. Jaedong will advance to Premier League and once again looks like one of the favorites to make a deep run.
In the second series on the night, Top showcased his trademark aggressiveness in a close 3-2 win over Kane. The series was an odd one, with both putting players each other into awkward situations with an assortment of unorthodox builds. In the end, Top was able to topple the Canadian and advance to Premier League for the fourth consecutive time. He will be hoping to make a better showing as he has been tossed out in last place of each of his past three Ro32 groups.
The veteran Taiwanese Zerg Sen was able to edge out a win over Guitarcheese in another close 3-2 series. A quick ling/bane attack gave Sen the win in game one, but Guitarcheese managed to respond with two wins of his own to make match point. Unfortunately for the American Zerg, he was then defeated in back to back games. Sen advances to the Premier League for his fourth time, and also as the only Taiwanese player this season.
Finally, the legendary Nestea was able to claim the 31st spot in Premier. Nestea went down 0-2 against Iaguz to start the series, and all seemed lost for the three time GSL champ. On the brink of being forced into the Ladder Wild Card qualifiers, Nestea was able to pull off a huge comeback with three straight wins in a series of scrappy games. Unfortunately for Australian fans, Iaguz's loss confirmed the third consecutive season without an Australian player in Premier League.
The final Premier League spot will be decided on Monday, May 12 11:00pm GMT (GMT+00:00) in a match between Minigun and qxc. The match was postponed from its original date because of health reasons for Minigun.

I ended up leaving during the game that Nony took off of JD. When I left Rotti was saying "The only thing worse than stalkers vs swarm hosts is zealots..."
Then I come back an hour later thinking I'd probably missed a few games of Top vs Kane. Instead, it's still the SAME game and all JD has is the island expansion and no army...and Nony wins. I'm going to have to watch the vod to see how the heck Nony pulled that off...

Everytime I hope NesTea actually does something in Premier.. Let's hope he can make it happen this time :D

It was pretty clear to me that JD didn't take Nony very seriously in the first three games with the first game having four hatches before pool and such. Last game was the most standard game and it lasted ten minutes and JD rolled over NonY hard. Still G3 was very fun to watch. Sometimes watching players make dumb mistakes is pretty entertaining.

Jaedong had 4 hatched before pool in the finals of tournaments when he was versus a protoss sometimes. So I wouldn't say he didn't take him "seriously".
