![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/Fgk7kju.png) Today we are proud to announce North America's newest StarCraft 2 organization, Solaris Gaming. Solaris prides itself at developing and marketing our players above all else while also building strong connections with the StarCraft community. From day one we will try to develop a strong bond with the community through written content, video guides, regular streaming and whatever else the community would like to see out of us. We hope to be a team that everyone can benefit from and we'll try our best to achieve just that. ![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/HPDcgiP.png) ![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/0xQN2cT.png) Jason Pun Owner+ Show Spoiler + Graphic Designer for Red Bull eSports, Titan eSports, Exertus eSports

Facebook TwitterYouTubeSolaris-Gaming.comA message from the owner: Hey guys! I know what you’re all thinking, another new North American team that seems shady, that will soon be shrouded in controversy before going under shortly after. I’d like to first introduce myself, my name is Jason Pun and I go by the handle InsidiA. Up to this point I’ve been mainly doing graphic design in eSports. Currently, I work for Red Bull eSports, Titan eSports, Exertus eSports and have worked for companies such as Copenhagen Wolves, Dignitas, Clarity Gaming and a host of others. So this is where the money is coming from, I have a steady salary from the teams above and also do loads of freelance work.
Solaris Gaming is a team I started because I realized after talking to several players that North American teams don’t do the two things that they ultimately should be designed to do, help players get better at the game and help market them. So with that in mind, I decided to start this team in order to help players I believed were at the top tier of North American talent and help create an environment that does that for them.
Hopefully that clears up some things about the team and where the money is coming from. I’m only 18, so I can understand the skepticism but I have a great staff and have good relative experience working in eSports. I hope you will support this project and help grow the North American StarCraft 2 Scene.
- Jason Stay tuned as we'll have plenty of content in the coming days!

I hope you are realistic about financial issues. Too many teams are not. Players need reliable income. They can't live on dreams alone.

Very excited to get involved with this project, having mainly focused on Europe and Korea this will be my first venture in NA!

Nice to see an American team owner with a bit of experience in eSports before starting a team, instead of business experience in another field. If you can market your players like you intend to, you will probably be able to find some sponsorship.
Love to see NA players getting recognized. Hopefully you guys can build in skill and make some strong showings.

You guys have some pretty solid players. Best of luck to the team!

So, do you plan on this team only being funded by your income, or are you currently seeking sponsors?

Obviously we are seeking sponsorships but it is hard to obtain them without any numbers to give them. Hopefully in the coming weeks we can announce some sponsorships.

We are/will be looking for sponsors but these things take time and we got something to prove! Watch this space.

Side note, any way you could get the player twitter accounts in the OP? I know some players like @JonSnowSC2 have the same twitter but then others like @soLSilky have different names now.
Edit: I derp'd. Didn't see the twitters below each name!

good luck, hope it works out in the long term, and that you retain the same motivation throughout. many NA teams working as passion projects similar to this have failed especially recently, but wish you the best of luck, you seem to have a very experienced team!
|
Good luck

Looks awesome you guys! Best of luck!

Thanks for being clear on that point, guys. The opening statement made me concerned, as I didn't want another Deimos situation where an unfortunate change in employment could end the team.
You've got yourselves a strong opening, not to mention Day-1 premium exposure with Guitarcheese's match in Challenger as well. I'm excited to see where this team goes from here. There have been quite a few new teams lately, and I'm excited to see you join them in providing demonstrable growth to the scene.

Is the death knell of Core Gaming I wonder? JonnyREcco left for Vega, Kelazhur to Micro Gamerz and DePature to Prime. I think only Sonic is really left.
But yeah, all the best to Solaris Gaming! Good luck with your venture.
EDIT: Realised the SpaceMarine is Team Gravity.

Yeah Core has been only community for a month or two now, without salaried players. There just wasn't a big announcement with a mass exodus of players at the same time.

Guitarcheese is one of the most BM people on stream that I've ever seen ... just an unfortunate human being. I cannot possibly support any team with him on it
|
This looks awesome and has awesome folks working on the project. Both Jayson and James are sick eSports badasses. <3
|
Damn looks pretty solid, best of luck =)

Really excited to see where this team goes. They seem to have a strong (and just as importantly, well connected) core of management who already have experience with teams of various sizes. Their player/coach Padre is truly one of the nicest individuals I've ever come across in the SC2 scene, even if his taste in hockey teams is abysmal.

Do Solaris Gaming intend to enter team leagues such as the ATC and SC2ITL?

I support this team 100%. The owner is easily one of the most genuine guys in esports.

Good luck ! Good to see more support of semi-pro players!
