http://www.fnatic.com/content/96043/good-and-bad-news-from-fnatic-starcraft-2

Over the years Naama has grown to be one of the strongest players in the European StarCraft 2 scene. In Wings of Liberty he was a DreamHack champion. In Heart of the Swarm he was a center point of our squad. Not only is Naama a great StarCraft player but he is also an amazing friend. It's with great sadness that we announce the retirement of Naama from StarCraft 2.

We would like to thank Naama for everything he has done. Fnatic won't be the same without you! Goodluck to you in whatever you choose to do next.

Despite opening with the bad news, we also have some good news! Both Miniraser and Zanster have been on the up and up recently. They've both proven themselves in the European StarCraft 2 scene and have continued to show themselves as team players in Clan matches. They will now make the jump from the Fnatic Academy to the Fnatic Professional squad. We're very excited to see what they can do and the future is looking bright for them.

We have also promoted Harstem to team captain. He has stepped up as a leader within the squad and set an example for the younger guys to follow. We're proud of his recent success in the scene but even more proud to call him out captain.

Below you can find a statement from Team Manager and Creative Director, Elroy Pinto.

Elroy "Noname" Pinto, Creative Director & StarCraft 2 Manager:

I think with the recent changes that happened a couple of months ago on our StarCraft 2 division, where we parted ways with both NightEnD & SaSe it set us back a bit but I think we've made some great leaps and progress with our Academy players. Two of whom have particularly impressed us and the whole scene have been Viktor & Anton. Both players have come a long way since they joined us and I think they are ready to make it to the next stage by joining our Professional section on the team.

Unfortunately despite all the positivity there's a certain degree of sadness that we have to say goodbye to Santeri. I think Santeri has reached a stage in his life where he wants to look beyond StarCraft 2 and while I am sad to see him go, I do think it's for the best. If he ever returns back it will definitely be with Fnatic, but for now it's goodbye.

We would like to thank all the support our team has received over the years and more importantly we will continue to keep up our grassroots work when it comes to the Western StarCraft 2 scene.

This makes me sad. I've always loved Naama's play and he's such a nice guy. Hope he sticks around in some other respect. It would be a huge shame if we lost him completely.

One of the foreigners who has won a premier tournament, known for scvtrains and his play. You would never see him do the same build twice.

these retirement posts make little sense lately, players get back anyway for the game is the grud of their addiction.

I don´t think this is the case with Naama. He is still young and can go university, which is free here in Finland and make twice what he does now.

I don't think he had been playing actively at all recently, and most pro and semi-pro players in Finland like Serral, Jagelius and ZhuGeLiang were in better form so it makes sense.

Very happy for Zanster and Miniraser their promotion to the professional team are well deserved!

I will not forget his BC rushes and those famous games vs MC at homestory cup, those were awesome games !

He was really a fun player to watch but to be fair it seems like he kind of lost the mojo lately, maybe this is a good decision so he can focus more on his live

GL for the future ! You crazy ass muthafuka !

So the final comeback of Naam that never happened... We were still hoping the DH 2010 and DH 2011 epicness. Part of Finnish Starcraft has died today, and part of the 1-1-1 too.
(Naama and PuMa should totaly merge themselfs into one 1-1-1 archon and bring that back into the meta :3)

Naama was fun to watch play, I guess he finally played every build you could as Terran and didn't want to start the cycle over.

i always liked his 1-basey playstyle/ scv-pulling-timing playstyle in every matchup in WoL...definitely copied some of his builds on the ladder lol.

good luck naama

For me, Naama was one of the most entertaining terrans ever to watch. Unique play, which is sadly not really seen too much for terran in the current state of SC2.

I have to say, everything I know about Scandinavia I learned from TL. In a lot of ways your countries sound better than the States.

Oh and GL to Naama.
