The WCS Europe Season 2 qualifiers have come to an end. The qualifiers concluded with the final, Ladder Wildcard qualifier, which allowed anyone to participate regardless of region or residency. The following four players advanced to Challenger League:
Lambo won the fifth place match, and will replace any player who forfeits his place in Challenger League. He is likely to replace NaNiwa, who has said he will not play in Challenger League but has yet to be officially removed from the player list by ESL.
The sixteen players from the Challenger League qualifiers will face off against the bottom sixteen players eliminated from the Season 1 Premier League in a series of best of fives. The winners will qualify for the Season 2 Premier League, while the losers will be forced to start over in the qualifiers.
Challenger League is scheduled to begin on April 29th.

Imo ESL should make a cutt-throat single elimination tournament amongst all challenger players with the winner replacing Naniwa in Premier and let Lambo replace the winner in Challenger.

They must have a German working VISA. The only Korean registering for the WC qualifier was Revenge, makes sense Europe held.

Naniwa isn't in premier though, he's a seed in challenger. The new seed will be chosen randomly among all unseeded challenger players, but nobody is getting a free ride to premier.

What's up with Heromarine? I thought he was one of the best players in europe.

Oh, I see. Nevermind then, I was mistaken.

It's so cool to see MiNiMaTh qualified. Very unexpected given his rather disappointing performance at Gamers Assembly but he's been in the top 3 french zergs since pretty much forever so it's very nice to see him performing in an international event.

I'm stoked for MorroW! Let's do this!
|
I'm also very happy to see Morrow go through! Congrats to all qualified!
I was really hoping to see Dimaga, hOpe, Heromarine, Sortof, Serral and Gunfubanda in the challenger, but it wasn't to be this time, although it was very close for all of them at some point.
Is it too much to hope for a match between Stephano and FireCake in the challenger? I know players have been seeded in the past in WCS EU so as not to meet any countrymen in the PL... Is there any information on how the matches will be drawn?

I'm a little terrified of a new French Zerg given FireCake and Stephano. Can anyone who knows his style weigh in on whether he's another nonstop Swarm Host guy?

Nah, he uses low eco strategies with a lot of roaches. HyuN-style.
