Oh shit, didn't even know they were making a second one and that it was coming so soon. Not as interested in MVP as I was in JD, but this will certainly still be a fantastic doc, especially by these guys. Cannot wait. :D

Nice, bought the first one, should be good

Massive red flag right here. Is this real?

SICK! The Jaedong State of Play is already one of my favorite esports documentaries of all time and the bonus documentary about digital worlds was also quiet enjoyable. So glad I paid a bit more back then so I'll also receive this MVP documentary! Gonna be great to get some background knowledge on IM and his wrist issues.
|
I really really liked JD's State of Play and this one looks really amazing aswell. You guys make the best esports documentaries. Can't wait!

Amazing, MVP still my god.
|
Can't wait, will certainly watch this.
|
Trailer looks pretty sweet, I bought the deluxe edition for the JD one so I don't have to pay to watch this, woo.

state of play was soooooo good. Looking forward to this one

Of course Mvp would get in a car to fuck with Supernova's head.

Looking forward to this documentary a lot. State of Play was great so expecting something great again!

Hopefully they will get Bisu/Rain/sOs/Dear as Protoss rep for State of Play 3, if there is such a thing.
|
Can't wait to see this. So glad the King gets his own documentary, will be interesting to see him behind the scenes.

Even though I'm not especifically fond of Mvp, I have to admit that his story is glorious. This will be amazing!

LONG LIVE THE KING OF WINGS.

37 mins in. This is so good considering their budget!
|
If I just want to watch the MVP documentary do I just buy the "Bonus" material?

Well Starcraft was released April 1st, 1998

YEAHHHH! I'm so glad I bought the deluxe edition long time ago. Downloading it now, can't wait!
|
I really enjoyed it, had a very "human" feel that was present throughout much like the Jaedong doc. Well done!
|
It wasn't bad but had a definitive feel of a side project. What I was missing was a slightly different perspective on our hero. Something like the family segments from the first movie.

Starting to watch it now!
|
Just finished watching, it didn't cover as big of a time period as the JD one but it was definitely worth the $5.
|
Starting this now, should be worth the $5.
|
This was so good! These guys really know their stuff
|
Can anyone link me to the Jaedong one, had no idea it was out lmao much appreciated.

Everyone should watch this and the Jaedong one. Everyone.

Dont they know that a majority of Starcraft players are broke kids? They should have went the same route as the melee documentaries and put these videos on youtube :/

i don't know if you got some insight about the US but the french scene definitely isn't about broke kids lol.

Meh, 15$ isn't bad for an on-scene, well-produced documentary by an independent producer and over 2 hours of content. It would be the price one would pay for a movie at the theatre, and it allows you to download (own) the movies, which can then be shown to friends.
What is wrong with having the initial people who want to buy the movie pay a reasonable price and then have the movie spread organically from there? Seems okay to me.

It's probably because we were spoiled by the smash doc lol...

Sweet! Where can you watch the first one?

I'd say if we are going to choose a free-to-watch esports doc to be the pinnacle it has to be Free to Play.

Just finished it. What great doc, love MVP and his girlfriend waiting in the "waiting room" scene. Such a cute couple.

As great as the first one. I wish this guy made sons of starcraft.

I agree with this. F2P is the best eSports documentary to date IMO. Smash was good, but, more grass roots. I'll definitely check this doc out
|
Nah, Smash beats the crap out of Free To Play in my opinion. Free To Play is way more well polished but I got really invested in the Smash one (maybe because I used to play Melee all the time?) State of Play is good too though, worth the purchase imo.
|
I have to say that's worth it!

Totally worth a bit of cash, the creator's passion for the subject matter is patently obvious throughout, but equally this is no amateur fanboy vehicle either.

Well worth the money and the time. Does a great job of showing the person that is Mvp.
|
Holy shit, hope it's no fools joke ;D
|
So i've been trying to find a way to show my parents that SC is like a legit thing. I'm wondering if this would be a good choice. how long is it, and does it do a good job of explaining it to outsiders?
|
Thank you for your work.
$15 is too cheap for all these high quality stuff, don't spoil me :p

I really really enjoyed this one. Imho even better than the original State of Play, which I loved as well. I'm so glad that I decided on paying for the full package with both State of Play's + the virtual world one. I heard the maker is gonna do one on Korean Education next and I can't wait to watch that one.
To me, the two State of Plays are easily among the best eSports documentaries I have ever watched (and I watched like 15 by now). This one is on par with the Smash one, and since to me the TI1 one was somewhat meh given the huge focus on 1 Million Dollars, the Na'vi guys backstory and not even close to enough focus on the actual tournament itself, I'd easily put this over Free to Play.
The price should be higher though, this is some really excellent work.

I watch the documentary Totally worth it I was crying by the end. The documentary follows 3 stories in Korea; Jaedong, a n amateur, and a young semi pro later accomplishing his goal as a pro on woojin stars. Totally worth 15$ and an hour of your time

"young semi pro"
By that he means Impact, Zerg player for Axiom who just qualified for Code A, that aside, totally worth a watch. Really shows you a lot about the life of each player involved. Pretty sure the mvp one will be worth a watch too.
