me: Could you introduce yourself and your background to us? And when did you become a pro gamer?
XiGua:Hello everyone, I am Invictus Gaming's XiGua, in 2006 and 2007 I played professional Warcraft 3. I made the switch to SC2 in 2009 and became a pro player.
me: XiGua bro, I was really suprised [by him advancing]. How did you feel when you advanced [out of your group]?
XiGua: I'm 27 years old... I've already forgotten the feeling of being young and getting excited and filled with joy. To tell the truth, I'm old. I stay calm a lot.
me: Could you tell us the happiest day of your life as a pro gamer? What happened?
XiGua:The happiest... That should be the days when I was practicing with my teammates in WC3, because those days it was really really bitter. There were seven of us altogether but only two beds. Everyone was practicing very very hard to produce results. A lot of the time I was leaning on my chair sleeping. Then I would just wake up wash my face shower brush my teeth and just continue practicing. This kind of feeling was wonderful, I was really really happy. Afterwards I took second prize in WCG's nationals for WC3.
me:It is said that in China parents don't have a good outlook towards eSports. How does your family feel about your career?
XiGua: They are both open-minded and educated, so they place a lot of trust in me. But other Chinese players can't happily compete to my age. I really hope that one day eSports in China can be liberated from this stigma. It would give more sensibility to chinese players.
me: What's your favorite food? I really like Sichuanese Food, Spicy Chicken Bits and especially a dish known as Fu Qi Fei Pian. Every time I think of these foods my saliva starts flowing.
(Sichuanese Chili Chicken)
(Fu Qi Fei Pian)
XiGua: I really like Sichuanese Hot Pot and a lot of other delicious things. If you come to Sichuan I'll make you even hungrier.
Sichuanese Hot Pot
me: Who is your favorite actor? What about singers?
XiGua: My favorite actor is Stephen Chow, and my favorite singer would have to be Jay Chou. They both moved up really high in life and both of them really have personality. Adding to that, they both had to put all of their effort in to their work to come out on top - outstanding strength. I like these kinds of superstars.

me: Besides SC2, do you play any other games?
XiGua: To tell the truth, I can't be passionate with any other game for more than a week. Every time I relax and play another game I start to think they are dry, tedious, and uninteresting. They are either too simple or it's because I can't be dominating in the game. I like to be a commander, that kind of feeling. Even though I'm quite the senior, I still don't like that lost feeling.
me: Do you think China will ever have a player that is willing to live and train abroad with western team?
XiGua: Absolutely, there must absolutely be at least one player out there. But at the same time western teams are more willing to take Korean players, right? The things that Chinese players will strive for really are too few... American and European teams simply don't know China has many players that are very arduous, and are quite capable. The way I see it, it doesn't matter if the Europeans and Americans are good, it doesn't matter if the Koreans are good, its just that their training environment is better. There is nothing particularly outstanding or talented in existence... And I'm really looking forward to the day that a Chinese player joins an American or European team for training. Let's break the post-WC3 status quo!
me: Do you have a particularly unliked player? [here I mean as a rival]
XiGua: I guess not. Every day I practice with Koreans [on ladder], I never thought anything of them.
me: I remember in WCS NA 2013 you competed twice. This year you finally advanced to the offline portion. When the Round of 16 begins, is there anyone in particular that you don't want to play against? Maybe your teammate macsed?
XiGua: The Chinese players and other zergs I really don't want to play against. I always seem to perform poorly in ZvZ. And Macsed hasn't finished his run in the Rond of 32 yet. But I think he is certain to advance.
me: Is there anything else you would like to say to western friends?
XiGua: I really love Starcraft 2. Even if I retire later, I will continue to love SC2. Also everyone please continue to support SC2. don't give up just because the game is too difficult. On the contrary, the game will train your perseverance. It will raise your personality. It may also even help you.
