Two years ago, the North American Star League welcomed Ben “MrBitter” Nichol into its casting team. Today, we wish him the best as he moves onto a new role in eSports with Red Bull.
Over the years, the NASL team has grown quite close as an eSports family. As such, we remain supportive of each person’s growth and journey, whether they grow within our organization, move away from eSports, or move on to other roles.
In the case of MrBitter, the next phase of his journey will be working for Red Bull eSports. For anyone who may be concerned by this, that journey will still likely involve StarCraft, as MrBitter stated, “StarCraft will still be a huge part of who I am and what I do.”
Kevin “RotterdaM” van der Kooi will continue to anchor WCS America, which MrBitter assured is “going to be the best show ever now that he doesn’t have to carry me anymore.” Rest assured, the pair will still have opportunities to cast together. Kevin's new co-caster for WCS America will be announced soon.
Thus, although we will miss him, we are excited for Ben and wish him the best at Red Bull.

Might be unrealistic but I'd love to see ToD become Rotti's regular casting partner.

Congratulations to Mr. Bitter! Awesome!

(and Mr.Bitter and Rotterdam are BFF, if Bitter can get a gig for Rotterdam I'm sure he will)

So who will replace Mr. Bitter? Frodan is long gone to ESGN, Gretorp is thankfully gone, so who could it be? Axeltoss or Axslav comeback? Nathanias?

I'm more hoping for someone like Nathanias.

Rotterdam is a terrific analytical caster, but he needs a hype/play-by-play guy to go with him imo.

Cool to see RB getting involved, obviously this marks a move for RedBull into more events! Sad to see Bitterdam break up, but change at NASL might not be too bad. Frodan and Gretorp leaving was a shock at first but it was for the better for all parties involved.

Hopefully NASL brings in a good new caster like Nathanias or something, though Nathanias lives in PA and moving to California might be tough.
I used to play random, but for you I play very specifically.

Damn sad to see him go but nice that he is going to be doing stuff with Redbull!

NASL is bleeding casters fairly hard! First Frodan, then Gretorp, then Bitter. Anxious to see who they pick up.

Well that's probably a terrible long-term business decision. I mean I'm sure Bitter knows what dollar amount is worth it to him to make such a change, and made it. But it sure does seem like a downgrade job in every other way, just not in paycheque. Now Red Bull treats their people well, I'm sure it will be a great experience and wish Bitter the best of luck. It's too bad he has chosen to be less important, I wonder who NASL will replace him with?

So he will probably make more money, working for a company with a good reputation who will likely treat him well, and this is a terrible long-term decision? Because it makes him less important on Reddit?

Cool. So, why does Redbull eSports need casters, again? Are they making a new tournament or something, or did they pick him up as a player? I'm confused by this. Utterly confused...

He worked a lot "behind the scenes" at NASL so I guess he will do the same at Redbull.

I thought he was purely a caster just like Rotti?

It's no secret that you need passion to continue to work in the SC2 industry. I recall Khaldor saying that if he wanted a higher pay, he'd leave SC2 pronto. Axslav said that just casting doesn't really help make ends meets as well.

Nah, Rotti oftentimes mentioned that Mr Bitter did a lot of stuff on the organizing behind the scenes part and stuff.

That's cool I guess. Was kind of hoping to see Day9 do more casting. Day9 doesn't seem very relevant anymore in the SC scene since he doesn't cast anything. Yes he does dalies and they get good viewer numbers but not like he use too.

If they got Nathanias to cast with Rotti I would be so happy.

I don't watch WCS AM, but if Nathanias got hired, that could easily change.

Just saying.

Just throwing it out since a lot of names are floating out there, I'd love if they somehow get Ret. Loved him during HsCs and the last ESL.A Rotti/Ret pairing could potentially surpass their EU/KR equivalents. He said he wanted to get into casting right?

Tod/Rotti would also be insane, but I'm not sure if Tod fully wants to transition/leave his spot at ESL.

I don't know, Kev. But I am really going to miss this duo very much.

I wish MrBitter good luck!

And Rotterdam + Axslav would be sick good! But I don't think this will really happen Probably Nathanias

The smartest, most analytic, insightful caster with the most hyper caster of all time, we just aren't that lucky

That would be perfect! Nanthias seems to be more of a hype caster, and we don't need that one unless it's Mr.Bitter

I'm glad these two (bitter and rotti) are being split up. When together, they talk so much about things other than the game at hand that it gets really annoying to listen. This change was necessary.

Wow, that sucks for WCS AM. Though Nathanias would be a good replacement.

Wish Bitter all the best.
