VODs on Youtube (eventually)

After an opening night that was marked by NaNiwa's shock elimination from the tournament, WCS Europe produced more predictable results on its second match day.

(T)mYi.jjakji and (Z)Acer.Nerchio, the two most accomplished players in the group, lived up to their reputations and advanced to the round of sixteen. While (Z)RoX.KIS.LiveZerg and (P)ESC.ShoWTimE were able to give the favorites a scare, they ended up being sent down to the Challenger League.

Things weren't all easy for first place finisher jjakji, as he dropped games to both LiveZerg and Nerchio along the way. The Korean Terran wavered in the face of early aggression, with LiveZerg's roach-bane bust catching him completely off guard, while he only barely held against Nerchio's roach-ling attacks. However, jjakji persevered and pulled through with 2-1 wins against both opponents, even capping off his series against Nerchio with a cheese rush of his own.

Despite losing to jjakji, Nerchio advanced through in second place by taking four games off ShoWTimE. Nerchio threw a variety of different looks at the German Protoss, from rushing to upgraded ultralisks to going for mass upgraded air. Notably, swarm hosts did not figure into Nerchio's plans, with the Nerchio stating that the passive style forced by swarm hosts did not suit him.

Not suprise

EDIT: Da fuck is Naniwa shock elimination from WCS? He has played so poorly in WCS that it was not suprise. + He is VERY inconsistent player.
Fusilero: "I still can't believe he did that, like dude what the fuck there's fandom and then there's what he did like holy shit. I still see it when I close my eyes." <- reaction to the original drunk santa post which later caught on

JJJJJjjjjakji!!!

Sad that I missed every single game today (and all of the Women's hockey gold game). Work really has a way of getting in the way of what really matters sometimes.

Nerchio looked really strong, if his zvt gets more crisp he could beat the best! I hope he crushes WCS this year.
Maru and Serral are probably top 5.

Nerchio impressed me so much. I was hoping for Jjakji/Showtime but I do not mind getting to see Nerchio play some more in this tournament at all. And of course Jjakji thank you for no surprises

Whoever manages the twitch account for wcs_europe. I wanted to say thank you for uploading the VODs so fast after the event. Now I can watch the games I missed due to a date.

You are the man.

Oh awesome. I thought Nerchio hadn't been doing so well recently, although I admit I haven't watched a lot of SC2 recently, let alone non-korean SC2, so I foolishly tipped Showtime to go through with Jjakji.
I am pleased to have been mistaken! They sound like fun enough games to watch. + Show Spoiler +

It was more the way he went out, he went for a 1 base blink build almost every game, no one really knew what he was thinking.

No surprises, although jjakji struggled a little bit losing 2 games. Now it's VortiX time!
