Breaking Out is a show about up & coming, North American, Starcraft 2 players. The show spends a week highlighting a new player each week. After eight weeks, the season culminates in the Breakout Invitational, where players compete for a $1000+ prize pool. In the end, we hope to get a glimpse at who could be the next Breakout player in the North American scene.
The first season of Breaking Out gave a lot of early glimpses at some great North American Talent. Players like SaroVati, JonSnow, Sonic and Hellokitty have been showing some great skill in various tournaments and qualifiers since. These players from Season 1 were handpicked as talented players in North America who had the potential to do great things. However, we're going to be changing things up a bit as we jump into Season 2...

Right now the North American scene is playing catch up. For a variety of reasons, North American players, tournaments, and just general infrastructure in Starcraft 2 is a bit further behind from Europe and Korea. Breaking Out is a step toward building that.
The show highlights a new up & coming player each week that's worth knowing about. The idea is to give players who are working hard to break into the NA scene some more exposure and to give viewers a glimpse at the next potential breakout players. In the current Starcraft 2 scene, WCS reigns supreme and with a multitude of non-North or South American players playing in WCS America, it can feel neigh impossible to do well unless you're capable of beating fairly skilled Koreans.
This show is a stepping stone and incentive system for players striving to go pro to continue working hard. It can be frustrating constantly waiting for your big break as an aspiring pro, even when you feel like you're actually capable of competing with some of the other great North American players. Breaking Out rewards those talented players by giving them some exposure and an opportunity at a $1000+ prize pool at the end with the Breakout Initational.

The show eventually leads up into an eight man tournament that has a $1000 base prize pool that has payout even to last place. However, we do take donations for that prize pool to increase. Last season through donations we were able to raise the prize pool an additional $1153.32 through donations. If you'd like to contribute to the prizepool for the next Breakout Invitational, feel free to use the link below to do so!
Big thank you's go out to everyone that has made this possible. From those who helped with the art assets for this season and the last (Noobity, Sybert, MinnyMausGG) to those who have provided feedback and adminstration help(Wyrd, NanMan, MasterDalk), to the all the viewers of the first Season, I extend my thanks for helping to make this all possible. I also want to send a big thank you to all the players working hard in North America! Last but not least, thank you to DeadlyGaming for lending their support in the creation of many of the graphical assets.
