In a continuation of recent trends, Korean Protoss players dominated on the first day of WCS America's Premier League.
 Oz and AX.Alicia – two of WCS 2013's steadiest performers – advanced to the round of sixteen and earned chances to play in front of live, studio audiences.
Alicia advanced in first race with a perfect map record, proving his PvP prowess by defeating both desRow and Oz in PvP matches. Though Oz was denied first place by Alicia, he had no trouble defeating Nestea in the final series of the group to take the second place ticket to the Ro16.
Despite some good showings,  IM_NesTea and desRow were sent down to the Challenger League. Nestea's attempts to work his mutalisk base-trade style were too transparent, and he could not overcome the wall of Oz. Underdog favorite desRow scored a personal victory by taking a map of Nestea, but could not escape a last place finish in the group.
Next game day:
Group B:  Heart, TooDming, MaSa, Scarlett

He played really really poorly, I hate people who say "Oh wow I could have done better" but any masters protoss wouldnt have made a lot of the mistakes he did.

Yay Oz! Sad that Desrow couldn't play up to his highest level. Viewer numbers looked pretty solid anyone know any stats regarding viewers for day 1 for NA and EU? Or shall I wait for the wonderful monthly stream rankings?

Hasn't he been in continuous Premier leagues other than the gap he had when he dropped out of GSL at the start of last year?

He made like 250k and I'm sure he got a lot out of the LG deal as well. He has been more of a playing coach ever since IM was formed so I think he'll simply continue to do so.
I'm just super happy that he beat desrow (no offense to desrow, one of the most hardworking players) though given that TL keeps predicting stuff that I just can't see happen.

NesTea is a badass, I still love you! Hes probably like the oldest active progamer in NA WCS too.

Could NesTea become a coach? He is 30+ years old and has so much experience in gaming.

Nothing too surprising here. Desrow really showed some potential going into Premeir League but drawing Alicia and Nestea as opponents is tough. I hope to see more of him though, he really is a fun guy.
And everything is okay because Scarlett will advance to the round of 16 with flying, Canadian colors (and maybe Masa?).

I expected Alicia to get out of the group. I was expecting Nestea to show up. I Feel like NEstea has some interesting ideas but they just come together. I am excited for tonight's group finally get to see some TvZ -My favorite matchup lol

Expected Oz and Alicia to advance. Well done by Desrow for trying his best, he had a though group, and I am sure he learned a lot from the games. Good Game Well Played!
