The first two Ro16 groups of IEM Sao Paulo played out in the way many expected, as the Korean trio of mYi.jjakji, Bomber, and MC advanced to the quarterfinal round without much hassle. Liquid`TLO, the most accomplished of the non-Korean players competing on the day, also advanced to the quarter-final round.
shakti, the sixteen year old Brazilian player from the open bracket, provided the surprise of the day as he took out the American Hellokitty in the losers match of Group B. With the local players seemingly outgunned by the visiting pros, shakti's victory gave the local fans something very much worth cheering for.
IEM Sao Paulo continues on Friday, January 31st with players like Polt, herO, and MajOr competing in the Groups C & D.

I'll be so happy the day TLO will win a tournament... I think I'll open a bottle of champagne (though the fact that I don't have one could prove to be a problem.)
