I guess it's safe to say that Bomber won't be finding a team anymore? He has a personal sponsor just like Polt now.

Yeah I can see SC2 moving towards a point where all the top players are personally sponsored, and teams are more of a way to get good practice, money, and connections while making your way to the top. And even proleague doesn't have its former prestige with no Taeja, Innovation, Dear, or Jaedong.

I really hope SC2 doesn't move towards this direction because it will make it much much harder for new players to break into the scene. That being said, I'm definitely buying a redbull sometime this week and doing a full ladder session!

In theory if individual sponsorships became the norm it would be more difficult for new players because they would have no bearing in getting signed. With teams you could afford to sign a few players who might not have a good ROI and still make money because all you'd need is one good player. An individual signing means that person has to perform or you've lost money.

Is SC2 really at that point where something like this is significant? Cool anyway I guess. Well, eSF did just announce that they're disbanding. And since Startale is really the only noteworthy team left that was part of eSF, people were worried about what might happen to Startale and Bomber. So, this is just reassuring everyone that Bomber will still be going strong in 2014 ![]() On a side note, I'm so conflicted as to which energy drink I should buy. Monster, or Red Bull??? Also I think it's a great decision, since Bomber's such a charismatic personality and with quite solid playing.

Your pick (; And fair enough, I just feel like this "good news" is nothing special. But I like bomber, and I guess good news in a sea of bad news doesn't hurt. But seriously, they are both good, support both and don't buy Rockstar, Ballz, etc.

There was uncertainty about whether he join a team or if RedBull would support him. This officially announces that he is no longer a free agent.

Yes MLG had a tournament but for 5k they announced a 60k tournament for Dota 2 and Dreamhack made a studio but not for Starcraft and if you specifically look at the growth rate of Dota 2 and the size of LOL no investor that is going to be marketing computers or keyboards for example is going to put money into Starcraft 2 when they will get a much bigger return by putting the same amount of money into Dota 2 or LOL tournaments because much more people will see the ad and therefore it will produce more sales. I know its off topic but yeah.. By your logic redbull should drop formula1 and should only sponsor Football(soccer)

Yes! Personal sponsorships are awesome. Not many people can sustain their eSports career on their own with personal sponsorships. Also Bomber is the best. ^^

But football fans and F1 fans are two different markets. unless you want to generalize and say you are a razor company I don't know. Its two different markets and you can only get so much return. Once you hit a certain amount of money into marketing you will get very little return after that. Redbull obviously has a huge advertisement budget. So they give the amount of money that will maximize their revenue not putting all their money into one basket. Plus they obviously are trying to diversify

Respect your elder. LocDowN has been here a decade longer then you. If loc says don't drink a ton of energy drink you damn well listen. That doesn't mean don't buy them. It just means buy a ton of red bull and give it to your pets or something.
