KeSPA has announced that  Maru and  sOs have joined the Jin Air Green wings.
The move is seen as a huge boost for Jin Air heading into the new Proleague season, with both players bringing championship class skill. Maru won the WCS Korea Season 2 title, and had three other top-four finishes in WCS 2013. sOs placed second place in the WCS Season 1 finals, before going on to win the WCS 2013 Global Championship.
Maru joins Jin Air after being on Prime for over three years. As for sOs, Jin Air becomes the third team of his career, having started on Hwaseung Oz in 2010 before joining Woongjin Stars in 2011. He will be reunited with some of his old Hwaseung Oz teammates such as TRUE and Savage on Jin Air.

I'd be down to just get behind this team somewhat.. but.. they have no history.. and their name is horrible. Like one of those league of legends teams.. Samsung Galaxy Red or whatever. It's like. Your team has no identity. That's hard to be a fan of, at least in the sense that I go about fandom. We'll see how the name "Jin Air Green Wings" grows on me over time.. what kind of personality and performance they show.

The 8 teams are TL-IM, Samsung, SKT 1, KT, Prime, MVP, CJ and Jin Air so Woongjin doesn't have to be replaced.
Of course, the best of all possible worlds would be if Woongjin decided to stay in SC and bought fOu or Prime :s

Even after MKP switched to LoL, I was sure, that with Maru as the new leader and Byun/Creator to come back to old glory, the team can recover, especially after the switch to kespa. But well, this won´t be compensated by anything. This is pretty much game over for Prime. To lose the one and only performing player in 2013 comes equal to a killing blow.
But definately an understandable decision from Maru´s point of view. He deserves a stable salary. Prime doesn´t offer much chances to go to foreign tournaments either. So for him, it ofc makes some sense. I hope he adjusts well to the Kespa training regiment.

Me too, but I think it's a smart business decision. ST doesn't need Kespa's help and GSTL has a large prizepool with comparatively weak competition.

Considering the recent news about Prime before today (LoL team, join kespa, kal etc.) I highly doubt that they will disband, but it looks like they're trying to turn over a new leaf.
I think Gerrard is just going for a "re-building season" in proleague, give the new recruits some experience that they didn't get in the last GSTL prime played in...they'll get slaughtered, but hopefully in the long term they will be able to rebuild succesfully with all new players+Byun and Creator.

The core of players that took the GSTL trophy:
MKP: gone to LoL
Maru: left the team
B4: left the team
Creator: massive slump
Byun: still kickin (somewhat)
How's this for a depressing statistic: the only players on Prime's roster with any results whatsoever in 2013 are Byun with a Ro32 in GSL and Creator with a ro16 in Iron Squid. That's it. And their only other player with ANY results EVER is Annyeong with a freaking GSL code A ro48 in 2012.
The problem is, Prime loses core players over time (Polt, B4, MKP, Maru) like any other team, but it never seems to trade for any good players, and I think the only Prime nobody that ever actually became successful was Creator...who's massively slumping. Kal was pretty good in the hybrid season, but that was a long time ago... Well I mean Creator won WCS KR in 2012 and got second in BWC to PartinG. He also won TSL4. Those are probably his best results.

Prime hasn't got much left in the tank right now. :/ They're going to need a minor miracle in scoring some major sponsor before they can pick up any talented players from other teams. Oz, aLive and Revival are all available but I doubt they can afford them. Who knows, though.

Eh how sad. He used to be one of my favorite streamers, and I don't recall his PvT being particularly subpar back in WoL. Feels like PvT only got more stable too.
Miss the old guard of Polt, Check, MKP and then later followed by Byun and Creator tearing shit up (with Maru having spurts of brilliance but never being consistent). Nice to see him finally shining. I recall definitely considering buying a Prime hoodie back when they announced the shop... MKP completely influenced my TvT and TvZ in Open GSL Season 2.
Ironically, Maru's style is most akin to my own TvP, which I've been doing since 2011. Don't think I've made a Ghost in TvP in over a year in 1v1 ladder... although I take it to the extreme and try to tech either into mass cloakshee for templar snipes (vikings vs obs) or just straight into BC. Can't win vs a Toss army for the life of me head on.

Holy fuck, today's news pieces, WJ disbanding, EG cutting and now Green Wings soaring.
Glad sOs found a team, but damn, was really not expecting Maru to switch sides, hope it turns out well for both Green Wings and ultimately for Prime. Though Gerrard has been amazing at growing talent in the past, maybe he can work his magic one or more times.
Damn, this is so crazy right now, and I have a feeling its only going to get more so until next month.

Yeah, thinking this myself. They'll probably nab alive, oz, and revival so they can at least bolster their PL roster. Though I guess the question is if they can do it or beat any bids for those 3.

Not a bad pickup I think. He's solid enough to make a great addition to their roster but I don't think any of the other teams except JinAir might be interested in him.

That leaves Prime with...Byun and Creator... and thats it??? I know they have some other guys, but those other guys are all just rookies right? Proleague requires you to have 6 starters, and atm Prime only has 2. Hopefully they sign more people or this upcoming Proleague will be painful to watch for them.

I'm not as afraid of the Jin Air lineup as a lot of people are. If Jaedong were in the fold then yeah that would make life for everyone else a lot rougher. Pigbaby is going to have to keep improving and Terminator has to take his game to the next level.

Maru and sOs alone make Jin Air a force, and you gotta expect having those 2 as practice partners will only help the other players grow at least a little bit. sOs and his fast knowledge of his race is a great advantage to have, always coming up with crazy builds and tricks. I think they might be looking to add at least one more piece though, they could use another zerg, or maybe aLive?
But I agree I don't think they are automatic bid for a final spot or anything, SKT T1 is my pick for the finals at this point.
