Nathanias, Khaldor, Harstem, and Grubby have been announced as the casters for the upcoming Acer TeamStory Cup Season 2 live finals.
The event will take place at Take's flat in Germany on December 14-15, with Team Acer, Western Wolves, Axiom Esports, and Teamliquid vying for the title.

wOOp wOOp wOOp Hype train is rolling!!

Dutch caster delight! Nice!
|
Nice line-up, I hope there will be some players casting as well.
|
Title should be "Nathanias" and not "Nathanis".
I hope Khaldor's zerg knowledge is up to snuff, because otherwise we will only have knowledgeable protoss casting. Or, if we're lucky, some of the players might decide to join the fun.
|
harstem is my favorite caster!! yes!
|
Im excited!
Will Total Biscuit be there too? Last time some (?) of the team owners were there too. The millenium and the teamliquid guy i think at least.
|
Harstem is a cool caster. I liked listening to him at HSC.

Wooohoooo love you take!!!

Hell yeah, gogo Nathanias!

Despite the downtime at ASUS ROG, I had a great time with Grubby's casting. I'm really looking forward for this one.

Ah, my bad. I knew he was a good player, but I thought he was protoss. Living in the wrong time zone, so I rarely watch his stream.

Great lineup!
And together with all the pro players around, the casting should be amazing this weekend
|
grubby just to cast now like incontrol?
|
Nice line up. This will be a sick tournament no doubt.
|
Great news. Maybe I can meet some players if I go to the bar.

Last year he was streaming regularly and opting to become pro level. He was a High Masters terran on NA.

I was top 50 of all master league players in NA before I left for Dreamhack and couldn't play as much :D As for the Protoss I actually play a lot of that as well and am also master with them ^^

It's really cool that Mr.Bitter gets to cast something in Europe it's been awhile !

Definitely a fan of Nathanias's casting

It'll be nice to see Khaldor cast an event where he spends more time talking about the games than apologizing to the stream audience for the delay.
In any case great lineup! Too awesome protoss players, Khaldor, and Nathanias who has really grown on me recently. Should be an awesome finals.

mr. bitter wont be there. He doesnt go to TakeTV tournaments anymore since he's too involved with World of Tanks.

hmm didnt notice that yet. maybe if nathanias ends every sentence with the obligatory "i dont know kev"

Did Take and Total Biscuits talks things out? Because Axiom takes part at ATC after all.

I guess it's true what they say, if it ain't dutch, it ain't much.
And I had no idea Bitter had been conscripted into WoT. Could suit him though, "I don't know Rommel!"

I don't understand why people keep using grubby for casting. He's not entertaining and his voice is annoying. Would've much rather had incontrol.

In terms of cost they aren't really comparable, everyone else is already in Europe.

I remember when I couldn't even find an English stream for ATC. Thanks for putting so much effort into expanding and improving.

Nice. I like Grubby as a caster. He is not your average throwing-phrases-at-you caster type of guy (since he actually is not a caster I guess). I also like his sense of humor.
I also thought Khaldor and Grubby worked well together at ASUS ROG NorthCon 2013 last weekend.

The ATC finals this weekend is gonna be a blast. We already have people like Scarlett&TLO arround, but with this bunch of nice casters, the event is only getting better and better.
i hope for many San games. :D

Don't really care for Khaldor's casting as of late. He get's things wrong too often, calls games too early, incessant shouting of non excitement over trivial moves, and the use of "internet" slang is very cringey.
Really looking forward to Grubby and Nathanias. The event should be fun!

But San won't be there for this tournament, he is playing for his actual team (yfwolves) in TeSL.

Really looking forward to Grubby and Nathanias. The event should be fun! It seems like something that happens to many veteran casters eventually. It's such a protected, insular community at that level that complacency doesn't really have much in the way of consequences. Not saying Khaldor is like that, he comes across as a hard working guy, not to mention a hard working out guy.
Still though, non-pro gamer casters in general tend to be rather mediocre, I typically run on mute unless some specific people are casting.

I'll watch any tourney with Grubby casting!

Guys - every caster has a purpose (in general):
1. Casters of type "intelligence" which talk about what the players are thinking and what they are probably gonna do, or they aren't going to, but should do // Tasteless, Apollo
2. Casters that talk about player's performances and what they're usually capable of and did they execute well what was supposed to // Artosis, Nathanias, ToD
3. Casters I like to call "encyclopedia" casters which "FOLLOW" more than they cast - they know if a player did well (insert days) ago // Khaldor, Mr.Bitter, Total-Biscuit (maybe), there used to be the Super-Daniel-Man back in the days if you know what I mean
4. Casters/Players which role is to entertain and keep viewers closer to the content, or even make players interact (the later is usually done by the host-role) // Day[9], iNControl
5. There are casters/players that give insight of their own // Grubby, Scarlett, TLO, e.t.c.
6. There are casters/players that do the critique and give us the glorious insight of the possible w.t.f. factor in the situation in the game that currently might be going on.. ofc --> their usual contribution base is the category #1, but cause them also being players themselves -- they can do even better than that when the time comes // MC being the best example of this.. Followed closely by IdrA (maybe), though not sure if it's even close..
Instead of talking BS about any of them - try to get/understand which group they usually belong to and judge the quality of them by that measure
But yah - pretty happy about the lineup TBH.. It's pretty good for not a WCS major event IMO
|
I wanna say that I'm happy that Harstem gets to commentate in this tournament. To me is not 'just' a good player who can cast, but also a good caster.

Yes, Nathanias!

Excuse me, if anyone gets offended, but I won´t watch ANYTHING Nathanias. Came across his stream and what a whiner. I totally lost all respect.

He balance whines on his stream, yeah, but right now there's a lot of Terran QQ going around. It makes me not watch him play the game, but he's still a great caster for tournies.
|
I'm just one of many Terrans that really doesn't like playing TvP I hope that doesn't make you hate me forever tho. Still like to cast but anyone who gets all-inned 5 times in a row will whine!
|
I sympathize with terrans playing TvP right now, it looks...frustrating.
|
It's definitely true that Khaldor has been getting shouty lately. I hope he'll tone it down a bit. Edit: and just to be clear, I like both his casting and his attitude toward the job.

That was like 2 months ago!
I don't hate ya, but the "TvP is sooooo hard" QQ posts are getting out of hand in general. However, I can totally relate based on my experiences in other games. Sometimes it's not *that* you lost, but *how* you lost. Even if you go 50/50 against a certain opponent, it can be very frustrating when that opponent beats you in a certain way; TSG or mage/rogue in WoW arena, Freeze Mages in Hearthstone, Singed in LoL, or all-in/cheese in SC2.
|
WOOT WOOT ! Great line up ! Enjoy guys !

Well...I hate to go there, but it's not like the Terran QQ is completely unjustified in TvP. Predicting all ins can be like smashing your head against a wall. No fun And if you're someone that tries to play macro (Nathanias tends to play macro games from what I've seen), it can be frustrating as hell losing games outright to all ins.
IdrA does the same exact things, but he has such a polarizing personality (same as NaNiwa) that it makes up for it. I guess people either love or hate the people that are honest about how they feel with certain things. There's nothing in between it apparently. I'd rather have someone that's honest with how they feel about the game and provide honest feedback than someone that just completely bs's and makes it seem like they love the game all the time and think everything about it is perfect. Just seems to insincere. I like the passion that people who are honest about the game have, because it makes them seem like they want to see the game be the best it can. Obviously there are people who feel that they just want easier wins, but I tend to think it's the other way.
|
IMO it's actually more interesting when casters show their biases in cast as the alternative almost feels disingenuous. So long as casters don't use their position as a platform, I don't mind QQing in casting. Take Tod for example, he rages hard on social media, but when he's casting it's mostly self-deprecating balance whine so it's quite entertaining.
