are you serious?proleague and osl had the most entertaining value out of all sc2 competitions.they had high production value(the last osls was nicely done),the kespa koreans are entertaining and are educated on public relationships.the osl format with bo1 and bo3 is the most simmilar thing esports comes to real sports.i would pick the osl over the gsl anytime.and koreans arent faceless when they compete against people of same calibre. seeing a faceless korean win against an underprepared foreigner is boring but seeing koreans with simmilar training environments going against each other is actually exciting.

Sorry but production for proleague was HORRIBLE. (english stream)

In terms of production, yeah it wasn't the best and I guess I can be a little lenient considering it was their first stab on the English side. I had all sorts of notes to give them by the end, but there were some good things that OGN and KeSPA were starting to do. I for one would love it if they brought back the rotating booths, theme song music for players, and do winner interviews during the playback to get inside thoughts from the players.

what was so bad about it?beside proleague being played in some pcbang it seemed like a decent sc2 tournament.

@shidox

kespa isnt made for sc2 recently.

Most people just like to shit on SNM and Whiplash. Yeah, they were very green but it's not like GOM didn't make the same moves with bringing new talent in. Some people don't learn or pay enough attention to what is happening elsewhere.

As do I. They could always press the mute button and hopefully they know a thing or two about the game. Look, when I'm watching with my friends we don't listen to the casters at all. We're normally too busy talking, so it just becomes background noise.

Makes sense.
I still feel it's stupid there is this separation going on with many players competing in all foreign tournaments but not in proleague (taeja, jaedong, mc, hyun to name a few). The players competing in foreign tournaments get way more money while arguably they are not even better or a bit worse than the korea only players. In that sense I can't blame the players at all for choosing a foreign team.
I guess the styles of play needed are also different, the foreign tournaments are almost all 2 or 3 day affairs with tons of games per day while possibly being jetlagged, it's probably quite similar to laddering for these players as there is little to no individual preparation. Korea with GSL and proleague is all sniping your opponent, preparing extensively and benefitting from good coaches. Taeja in particular seems to excel in this 'foreign' format while doing not as good in the preparation format.
I had some hopes a EGTL team would again compete in proleague, if anything startale and EGTL are the two teams really missing out and looking at their rosters either one of them could be called a top team based on their players alone.

Makes sense, the opportunity gap between EG and Jinair is just too big. When's the last time we've seen Jinair send a player out to a foreign tournament?

Didn't know he was on loan lol. EG and Jaedong wouldn't want to part ways, he is by far the most sucessful EG player right now, and he is one of the most consistent players in the world and EG gives him the chance to go to so many events.
