Wouldn't you feel that you could push to end the game when you are mining slightly from a third and mining heavily from a gold base and your opponent has nothing but long-distance mining? I think he was justified in attempting to apply relentless pressure until victory. The only real mistake he made, in my view, is not making medivacs, as the lack of healing made his marines trade slightly less cost-efficiently against lings after each stim wore off.
Also, all three Innovation vs DRG games in season 3 round of 32 were better TvZ games, but this one takes a close 4th place. Probably deserves a top ten highlighting in the annual compendium of best games of the year.

I guess bomber felt like he could definitely win so he didn't bother setting up defenses at his southern 3rd or reexpand to any new bases / continue scv production.

It's the foreigner hype. Don't get me wrong though, she did played very well.

Any game where zerg floats 1,500 minerals in the early mid-game, which, in the hands of a Code S player, would be 60 additional lings, cannot be said to be 'game of the year'.
Scarlett let a game won in the first minute drag out which incidentally created a fantastic, tense and dramatic ending. But it's no where close to 'game of the year'.

I thought there were several other standouts for TvZ alone that put this one away. Namely:
Scarlett vs Dream (ATC finals on Red City)
MMA vs Jaedong (WCS s3 finals game 2 on Derelict)
Symbol vs Jjakji (HSC game 4 on Frost)
Byul vs Polt (WCS AM s3 finals game 4 on Derelict)
Although, at least a Zerg finally won in this one -_-;

Not really game of the year, If some random korean zerg played that game e.g.NSHFreaky people wouldnt call ti game of the year, just a good game. People get hyped easily which is fine, but need to stop exaggerating.

She didn't play that well. I am happy for her. Just not curious why she did better than sOs today? Or Parting?
You're not hating, you're just spouting silly nonsense. Golden the worst Zerg? How do you be the "worst zerg" yet come first place at Red Bull Training grounds? Yeah she beat Bomber, even when she was long distance mining and he had a gold base and another base. Yeah, I guess beating Bomber isn't impressive, I mean, he only owns Zergs like Soulkey and Jaedong.

I really wonder why Scarlett didnt just finish the bane nest and take clean, easy win; "play for fans" decision almost cost her advancing from the groups ..

It wash´t simply because she was bad or something. She wash´t able to expand enough and get enough larvae to use all the money she got. Gold base added a lot of money and bombers pressure made it difficult to expand after the more or less failed 2-base muta.

Game 3 is what makes a really good game imo. There was chaos in that game, and I'm sure there was a lot of emotional strain on the players, making their decisions good and bad.
I absolutely loved Game 3, mistakes, and great decisions, and you never really knew who was gonna win. This is fantastic Starcraft. Not just some really well performed build order into a perfect transition and walkover with a deathball, which everyone pretty much hates here.
I dont get the haters, they whine about deathball preventing back and forth, then we have this awesome back and forth, and they still hate lol.

To me, your opinion is wrong.
It's all subjective (objective? the one where everyone thinks differently). I, being there at this event, think that this was the best game of starcraft ever played. I'm including Brood War, though to be fair I didn't see a lot of Brood War. Now does this make me wrong? I'm sure in the eyes of a lot of people it does, but I'd even go so far as to say that this was the best competitive match of any event I've ever seen no matter the sport. My opinion is likely wrong in the eyes of everyone else, doesn't make me any less right.
They both made mistakes, the games didn't play out at code s level perfection, but that made it an even more exciting game to watch. Combine that with the series as a whole which included a foreigner coming back from an 0-1 deficit to win 2 nailbitingly close games and you've got the best series played in sc2 ever in my opinion. Best is most entertaining, most fun, most exciting to watch in my opinion, which this was.

I don't think she realized how far ahead she was. I think it was an extremely tense moment (remember, this was essentially a cheese/counter cheese scenario that Bomber played really well against) and she was just caught up in the moment. It's also possible she's not confident in her ability to pull off that exact all-in against someone like Bomber, who tore Golden's all-ins apart earlier in the day.

Damn that game was absolutely sick, wish I'd caught it live :p well done Scarlett!

Gratz to Scarlett on an amazing series! One of the best of the year! I do however think sOs deserved a bit more than the pitiful mention he got in this article since he was easily the best player on Day 1. In general, Group B was barely covered and Snute's name wasnt even mentioned outside the scorebox.

also I just want to say that the maps look great
