SKT_PartinG, Quantic.HyuN, and Acer.Scarlett made their way through the qualifiers to earn spots at Red Bull Battle Grounds: New York (Nov 23-24).
Scarlett won her spot through the North American Qualifier, triumphing over qxc, HuK, and ViBE in the final four.
HyuN advanced through a stacked Global Qualifier, defeating Symbol, Sora, and Bong in the final, four-man bracket.
Finally, PartinG earned his spot by winning the TLMC qualifier, defeating players like Bunny, jjakji, aLive, herO[join], and San.
The three players will join MC, Bomber, Golden, and Snute at Battle Grounds, who were invited to the tournament due to their success at previous Red Bull events. The eighth and final spot will go to the winner of the upcoming WCS Grand Finals.

Sad about Sora's elimination, but all three players will make it a great tournament nonetheless
|
Good guy Innovation forfeiting his spot so he can help his GSTL team out
|
All good players advancing, that's nice to see.
|
Cool one confirmed Terran... Blizzcon will be like Easter, birthday and Christmas together!
|
parting!!!!! ez road for him

Grats to the qualified players. This tournament should be a lot of fun. I see Alive beat Rain in the qualifier, not bad.

NA got a qualifier because it is specifically targeted towards the NA audience. EU got not qualifier out of the same reason why KOR got no separate qualifier. I don't think that many Europeans will be able to follow the whole event anyways due to timezone reasons.

Pretty stacked bracket, and not even all Koreans!

Congrats to the players that qualified! Also impressed that ViBE was able to go 3-4 vs Scarlett. He must be improving considering the last time they faced. Sounds like NA might be improving some!

Man this tourney is so concentrated it will be entertaining for sure
|
Let the best player win. Red Bull Battle Grounds is looking good.

Parting is a *** beast holy ***

Sucks that no Terran made it through as there's only one in there at the moment. And I'm sad Huk and Alive couldn't make it through. Still, looks like it'll be a good tournament.

Oh, this is the secret 8th spot that couldn't be revealed earlier today? Ok then.
Except what happens if one of the already invited players wins Blizzcon. MC or Bomber, for example?

They will, presumably, invite the 2nd place finisher. If two already attending players reach the finals, I suppose they'll pick a runner-up from one of the qualifiers.

Blizzcon = qualifier of Red Bull Battlegrounds lol

Wow, these folks matching up against whoever wins what will surely be the hardest tournament of SC2 to date... I'll be curious to see if that person takes this whole thing down like they should or not.

ViBE is probably one of the more underrated pros in the NA scene. 3-0 Huk and 3-4 Scarlett? Not bad at all. Hope he keeps improving.

Good to see, NA has been ridiculously top heavy for a long time now, it's not good when the gulf between the top player and the competition is too vast. I am talking about native NA players now, not Polts and Taejas.

Yeah the man doesn't get enough credit just like Goswser, but whatever.

Remember him from beta days. He is someone that puts up great performance against other NA players, but struggle lots against foreign tournament Koreans. (can't beat Heart, Golden, ect)
ViBE gets plenty and does enough to justify appearances, he is so called "no-personality" (aka professional) players that don't freak-out after every loss. Just because ViBE doesn't have a huge following doesn't mean that he doesn't get what is coming to him.

Pretty awesome lineup! Scarlett continuing to plow through NA qualifiers is always something I enjoy seeing. I hope she does good at the event.
|
Tournament only gets better with the winner of Blizzcon receiving an invite to the tournament as well. November just never ceases to amaze me with the quality and quantity of amazing tournaments.

I fucking love Hyun. While inviting the WCS finals champ to this could likely mean a stomp of everyone mentioned thus far, I don't think it's 100% guaranteed to happen that way.
They actually have a lot of charismatic players on this roster, great signal-noise ratio!! I am stoked about this!

haha what happens if bomber or MC win WCS finals???

Watching Scarlett play yesterday pleased me deeply. So good.

Hyun may have complete the hardest part of this tournament... Symbol and Sora are finalist material
Gogo Scarlett though!!

Favorite: Bomber. I'm a terran and this guy very good. Really like is style of play. Player that I want to do well: Snute. This guy need results to keep up working hard on Korea. GL Snute.

Same. I think Bomber will win, but personal preferences wise I want Snute. He's been working hard in Korea, can't wait to see what sort of improvements there will be.
Also, for anyone in the area interested in actually going to battlegrounds, I'm giving away a free spare ticket
