The players and teams for the GSTL All-Star Match have been selected! It's time for the most popular players of the GSTL to face off against each other and show that they are worthy of the votes they were given.
Tune in to see some both fun and intense matches as the All-Stars of the GSTL seek to destroy the opposing team!
Date: October 10th, 6:00 PM (KST)
Participating Players and Coaches: 1. The coaches of the 1st and 2nd ranked teams in the 2013 GSTL Season 2 Pennant Race Round 1 have been selected as the coaches for the All-Star Match
2. The fan votes selected 4 players from each race, for a total of 12 players
3. The coaches then picked 6 players each in a draft format
4. The coaches were also allowed to pick one player of their choice that did not receive enough votes to make it to the All-Star Match
All-Star Match Part 1:
Game 1 - Marine vs Baneling!! Who has the best splitting skills?
Game 2 - Who has the best teamplay?
Game 3 - 3-minute relay race match!
All-Star Match Part 2:
- Pure, talent-based, head to head battle between the Red Team and the Blue Team!
The GOMTV Gangnam Studio will be open during this match so be sure to come down if you are in the area for a night of great fun!
The 2013 GSTL Season 2 will continue with Round 2 after this All-Star Break.

Also Aphrodite not picked last was a shock, then I saw Startale coach as the Blue coach so figured there was some bias, but then I realised Avenge was last hahahaha. Aphrodite > Avenge.

Technically Seed was picked last because the coaches picked an extra player (Choya and Avenge) after the original 12 were picked.
Also good guy CranK picking Choya after Choya begged to be voted for.

I thought only the first 12 players were voted by the fans and part of the draft choices from the coaches. Then for the 7th pick the coach could choose anyone from the GSTL teams. So Aphrodite was picked ahead of Golden and Seed but Avenge wasn't one of the fan vote winners. (Possibly some Startale bias in picking Avenge out of everyone though).
It looks as though they needed 2 of each race, so as soon as Crank picked Dear and Alicia the Startale coach knew he would get Seed. Similarly the Startale coach knew he would have Aphrodite after Crank picked Gumiho. So the Startale coach's 5th and 6th picks had to be Aphrodite and Seed in some order.

Really happy with the selected players, apart from Golden and Choya I voted for all of them. What surprises me the most though is no Bomber, SuperNova and Ryung. I kind of get Ryung, the spotlight got stolen from him by both MMA and Innovation and he, ironically, has become overshadowed again by other great terrans. But Bomber and SuperNova are staples for their respective teams, well I guess Bomber probably needs the rest, but what about SuperNova.
Well anyway, looking forward to this, hopefully Aphrodite can put up a good show, maybe even pull off the upset.

All stars of the hearts from a very much limited pool. I´m not surprised to see a charmer like Seed in there, or other players who are popular, but rarely seen.

For half a year he is not only human but also quite mortal.
So does the relay race mean that every 3 minutes a new player will run to the computer and switch out with the current player? If so that will be awesome to watch and really funny.

i for one voted for aphrodite and am glad that she is in. if barbie prime was among the candidates i would have voted for her too just to see a sexy girl on girl match.

Someone didn't read the pick rules.
If you noticed, they said 12 players were nominated, but 14 were picked (4 from each race, but each team has 3 Protoss players).
If you keep reading, it says they drafted the original 12 nominated players, then were allowed to pick 1 player each that wasn't voted on by the fans (the last 2 Protoss players, Avenge being one of them). So he didn't pick Aphrodite before Avenge because he wanted Aphrodite more than Avenge, he picked her first because the system required that he pick from the 12 first, then he picked Avenge as his bonus player (he could've still wanted Aphrodite more, but it's not a given truth that he did want her more than Avenge).
Marine splitting should have honorary guests Maru and MarineKing to show them how it's done Little bummed Innovation didn't get a better opponent. I would have loved to see a Inno v MMA rematch. Looking forward to this and the placement matches tonight!

Bomber probably declined - he said he is having health issues and he's taking time off, basically. I assume it is to rest for BlizzCon, since he's definitely going to make top 16.
I am reallly confused on how Life, Ryung and Supernova couldn't make it. I dont understand the excitement about Aphrodite at all. She took the place one of this players. I feel like i was cheated
