Also Flash is a decent player, he probably could make it from the open bracket into the tournament on his own (as long as he does´nt run into DRG), so there is no need to change the bracket for that.

We have the highest ranked WCS players who applied to come. We spoke to many players who we thought would come and many rejected for various reasons, some don't need the points, some couldn't afford, some want to focus on WCS and some just didn't want to go to New York.

It really looks to me as that its still centralized decision who of the licensed players they send to overseas events.

It really looks to me as that its still centralized decision who of the licensed players they send to overseas events. An "anonymus korean mastermind organisation" probably decided, that he is going and for example SK not. But they have no control an the IEM invitation system (At least I hope so) and IEM does not cover flight costs and stuff for wildcards anyway, only for qualifiers (which makes sence from my point of view). He could also lose to Nerchio, but if he still managed to grab the 5th spot to the Season finals, he still would have a shot.

Their invite list is really a shame though. There are so many players on the cusp of going to the grand finals that deserve the shot imo. Oh well, it'll be interesting that's for sure.

Not sure why sOs is there. He's basically guaranteed for Blizzcon already.

Example is that we declined TLO at first to the event and they went down the WCS pts list. We came back some time later and said ok, we would actually like to do him anyway. By that time Grubby and DIMAGA had been offered the slots, so we had to wait until they decided whether or not they wanted in. When they didn't want in, we got the slot back since Dario was the highest ranked WCS player that wanted to play the tournament at that given time.

And then there´s always this little tiny miniscule belief, which like atomic decay only gets smaller without ever vanishing, that this could be Demuslim´s break-out tournament.

If the wild card invites goes in the order of WCS points, I'm actually surprised it went all the way down to Flash at the 40th spot. It would make sense for MC and Hyun to go to help give them greater assurance that they'd have enough points for BlizzCon. TeaJa would have made sense too since both him and HerO are going to be in the USA anyways for WCS America and help them be used to the time zone in advance.
