ive played in many IvD tournaments on z33k before they had a team and had the pleasure of yogi casting many of my games. yogi in generally is a very cool guy. ive stopped playing on z33k recently and wasnt aware they had a competitive team.

i spoke to apoc a couple times whenever we matched up in a tournament and he talked about his match in wcs where he lost to minigun and said it was more of a mental issue than practice. he does majority of his practice on ladder. i dont think quantic was that much of a benefit to him, and maybe IvDprovided him with better things as they have been growing since the start (most other organizers on z33k fall apart or are no longer active).

whatever they agreed upon i hope the best for both parties. i think apocalypse is one of the best players on NA and highly underrated. IvD must've been really good/loyal to him to have him leave a more commercial team.

Nice, Apoc seems to be happy but at the same time I have difficulty understanding this move, as others have mentionned. It's hard to believe he would recieve a better salary and better opportunities (like being sent to tournaments). It must be at least comparable if he switched, or there were some significant interpersonal conflict within Quantic.

All in all I'm just happy to see him find a team where he is happy, especially when the list of retired professional players seems to grow every day.

As an update, after the announcement this morning, Fujikura (Quantic Manager) has requested that Hwangsin no longer play in online events for IvD Gaming. We want to thank Hwangsin for all the fun matches in the past and wish him and all of Quantic the best.

I have no idea what this is. You really call this a professional team, when the players are "borrowed"? When I read the news I had mixed thoughts of whether this was a team, or an organization that was sponsoring individuals, or an organization that just helped individuals find sponsors.

Why did Apoc join them? But more importantly, why was he playing for them while with Quantic, and why is HwangSin playing for them while being the team captain of Quantic?

For the 1st year IvD was just a casting team, over time a casual playing team was formed in which Apoc was allowed to play with us in small online events. As time passed, IvD Gaming's playing team got stronger and stronger and it became its own branch away from the casting team. Hwangsin was able to play causally with us then as well. Today, IvD Gaming is no longer a casual team but a professional team with no borrowed players. Apoc is chose to come to IvD gaming and additional members will be added to the roster in the near future.

I hope this helps clarify some questions. If not please feel free to ask.

Smaller teams typically give higher salaries for non-superstar players. I don't know any details but its what i would assume

Seems like apoc made the choice to join IvD. People keep saying they have never heard of them but you have to start somewhere and with apoc on their team, I hope they can get better known and help apoc progress as a pro gamer.
