http://www.gomtv.net/forum/view.gom?topicid=301737&cid=0&kind=8

GOMTV announced the brackets for Challenger league today. Round 1 begins on July 9.

Interesting round 1 matches (in my humble opinion):

(T)GuMiho vs (P)Terminator
(T)ByuN vs (P)Dear
(Z)Crazy vs (Z)Sleep
(Z)Shine vs (P)Seed
(P)Trust vs (T)jjakji
(P)ParalyzE vs (T)Dream
(P)Avenge vs (P)Argo
(P)YongHwa vs (P)Stats
(P)Super vs (Z)CoCa
(P)Hurricane vs CJ.(P)herO
(P)Creator vs (T)Reality
(Z)TRUE vs (P)JYP

Of note, there were 49 players for round 1, so one of them dropped from the tournament. That player is (Z)Golden, no idea why he is not playing.

Challenger League is handled by Gom, probably not.

Is it possible Golden is moving to WCS AM? Or is it too late for that now.

I would argue yes, because it would be really really weird to have different map pools for Premier and Challenger leagues. It doesn't make sense.

Looking at the GOM schedule, they only have two days listed for Code A R1. Not double days either, single blocks. Looks like we're going to get shafted on the challenger broadcast again, it really pisses me off.

I've bought a GSL ticket for every season regular season since 2011 but I'm not going to buy another ticket if this is what we're going to get, I assume Wednesday and Monday are blank because of other games like dota/wot/sf2.

Half of page 1 of the thread tells you he's signed up for WCS NA

Code A has severely declined with the ESF players migrating but match of the round imo goes to Trust vs Jjakji who are in the same bracket as Life

Really sad they aren't showing all the games, even having Kaldor/Wolf cast them or straight youtube vods has to be better than nothing.

I'm wondering as well what are they doing on Wednesday. Unless it's the DOTA2 league, I can't think of anything on it.
I know Monday is reserved for Sudden Attack (which is why we never see anything from them SC2 wise).

I'd guess dota2 or it has something to do with it being the OSL and GOM only wanting to do some of it and OGN not wanting to do any of it, doubt we will ever know but it does all come back to Blizzard since it's all WCS. I feel bad for the players who are playing in Korea who are going to get less exposure than the other regions.

The players should switch regions to somewhere where they will actually have their games shown, this is honestly ridiculous. Especially now that It's WCS. Imagine the rage if WCS EU didn't show some Challenger games and Naniwa or Stephano's were left out.

Golden and Sound to NA? First they get invited to the RB training ground and then they go to MLG. Looks like it was all part of Redbull/Startale's plan to get them involved in the NA scene. Pretty smart moves imo. Well assuming that they actually end up qualifying.

They're running this one because of the MLG-NASL switch. ESL will run the qualifiers. Blizzard (i.e. IGN remnants) will run the ro32 Premier and challenger league for wcs NA. And Nasl takes over from the ro16 Premier.

Has there been any mention of Proleague schedule?
If there's only Tues and Thurs for WCS, maybe they are having no PL on those days, but PL on Wed/Fri and therefore they dont want to clash?

Same, bought every single season from Open season 2 and bought a 2012 and 2013 yearly pass but GOM really dissapointed me so far this year.

Nice draw for herO! He only has to spank Hurricane and either Creator/Reality, all of which are definitely worse than him.

s2 vs Effort in the first round is quite ridiculous, hope s2 can pull through.
Paralyze, Journey and Mamuri don't have easy brackets but I think Paralyze can make it (with some luck) although the two rookies probably won't.

if yugiOh manages to avoid skyhigh he'll have his best matchup all the way to code s, and even if he doesn't avoid skyhigh his zvt is looking much better lately. so I like his chances of jumping straight to code s this time. his opponents may be really good but I like yugiohs chance against any zerg in the world and skyhigh hasn't impressed me at all.

Yeah I'm serious. I'm not watching as much sc2 as I used to and none of the match ups make me want to tune in but thats obviously personal. Plus I've never been a fan of Code A except maybe for the year Kespa joined in. I'll most likely end up watching a few games but I'm not hyped up or anything.

Where's MarineKing?

EDIT: Nvm. I checked the brackets. Looks like he has a good chance to get through! Fingers crossed. Anyone know if he qualifies for Code S this season, even though he missed the OSL, if he'll get the NesTea Award? I need to know!

Byun v Dear should be pretty good... I like them both but my heart goes with the Prime clan... Looking forward to watching Avenge v Argo! Should be interesting to see if CoCa has regained form, he was brutal on SlayerS. Hopefully Creator has gotten better and can show us good games. He's part of the future of Toss along with Parting.

Exactly it has the option to give me seed in code s and let mkp stay in code a (hopefully code b) where the little hipster belongs.

Nice brackets.

Yes me neither. I didn`t buy one this season and this is one of the main reasons. And I had bought a ticket ever since they started with sc2.

Someone suggested we could, for now, use GSTL vs SPL instead of eSF vs KeSPA. It conveys the same comparison between teams and training environments while being technically correct. Sure, JYP isn't KeSPA but he trains like and plays against KeSPA.

It's not even like GOM has their hands full with the Premier/Code S this season...
I guess they could afford to cast all matches this time.

Thank goodness jjakji can be confident in winning his match. I want to see him gain some traction in WCS! This should be a chance for him to showcase his once world-class TvP.

Dear and Dream I would like to see win as well. In all the other matches I'm actually fine with any outcome.

OMG, I am not used to say that, especially for GSL/WCS KR, but there are so many protoss o_O
First time in GSL history for sure, and at the complete opposite of what I expected after seeing how protoss were doing in the recent major tournaments (there were a very decent number in the early stages but so few made it to the playoffs).

Don't worry, this isn't Code S xD Outside of Code S Protoss in GSL have been able to at least hold a candle to the other races.
