A Tweet from MLG's Adam Apicella revealed that MLG's next event will be taking place in Columbus, Ohio between November 22 - 24.
@MrAdamAp:
We are excited to announce that our next #MLG Pro Circuit Championship event will be held in Columbus, Ohio, November 22 - 24.
The date comes after Blizzcon on November 8-9, after the WCS 2013 season has concluded. This information also seems to suggest that there will only be three live MLG events in 2013.

Nope because bitter said on sotg that nasl will be doing the season's finals when it's NA's turn to host. MLG's only doing 3 champs events this year instead of 4! MLG is dying guys!

The person in charge of NASL (i forgot his name) already confirmed that they have the wcs finals.
Yeah, I think it's important to notice that this will be the next Championship, not the next event. I don't think they plan on doing nothing for 5 months, as Sundance's second tweet implies.

But seriously this looks sick I'll be sure to tune in. Hopefully they will add mobile streams on the MLG site. This past MLG they just had the NASL guys cast a few games

Gonna be a long wait.
Colombus Ohio is basically one fourth into the country from the right, right in the Great Lakes. Going to be a lot colder than this weekend's Anaheim was.
Could there possibly be some online MLG events in between? I remember they did some sort of small cup, but with super top name players, a while ago. Would be nice to see in the intermittent...5 months ._.

Mkay, thanks. I don't care much about the weather, I just wanted to know if I'd have to stay up all night for the games.
So, with MLG getting minimized to Twice a year instead of 4-5 times. You would think the costs for MLG would be down, and the Prize Pool should be much Higher, since you don't need to spread it out between 5 events.

They could possibly do the seasonal Arenas like they used to.

Well yea especially considering we're currently trapped in a record high heat wave in the Western US.
Even if it's like 70 degrees out in Columbus it'll be way colder than it was during Anaheim this weekend.

MLG seems to always put on a deceptively good showing in Columbus. Not only was Columbus the first venue for Koreans to play in an international tournament, but it seemed to be the place where MLG put on its first really good production...which it has since carried and expanded upon in more recent venues. The downtown isn't the busiest metropolis you've ever seen, but in the times I've been there, I've always been pleasantly surprised by the people, the cleanliness and the access to quirky but great shops/bars/etc. Needless to say, I can't wait for MLG to come back to Columbus!

Given that it's in late November, 70 would be in record high territory.

I know right? I freakin' had to miss the only one, and it was an amazing event, the most watched event for a while. It really doesnt make sense. The northeast/New England has been screwed out of having events, and its also the most populated area in the US. Its always Columbus, Dallas and Anaheim (sometimes twice in one year).
Plus the MLG Studios is in NYC, so I feel it would be easier to organize and put together a large event if they were closer than like 1000+ miles away from the venue.
What the hell i read a few weeks ago they pretty much confirmed a Florida event this year guess not very upset wanted them to come to Orlando who in gods green earth wants to go to Columbus nothing there but the tourney Orlando has more tourist attractions than anywhere plus the tournament it literally makes the event a true vacation not just a trip to watch a tournament doesn't make sense i feel fan attendance would be much higher in Orlando than in Columbus OHIO like what a random state i understand MLG got big cause Columbus was the first time Koreans really started coming but come on switch it up and pick a more attractive venue its Ohio my mom did her Med school residency in Columbus for 5 years and said it was the most boring place to live the second she was done she was gone so who wants to voluntarily go there not me thats for sure been to Sandusky Ohio before to go to Cedar Point literally the only thing there and if it wasn't nobody would care about Sandusky or any city in the area surrounding might as well hold it in Omaha Nebraska or Sioux Falls South Dakota or some other random farm state with nothing in it stick with major cities LA/Anaheim,Orlando,Dallas,New York, and wouldn't call Seattle major but big northwest city and clearly more significant than COLUMBUS OHIO I just don't understand sorry for rant but was very upset at this news
So... only 3 live MLG events this year? Well I guess quality > quantity, I was pleasantly surprised by the relatively good production of MLG Anaheim. Looking forward to Colombus!

If you read the thread you would know that Sundance has said that this is the next CHAMPIONSHIP event. He said they are still planning something else for another city. (Probably vegas)
edit: MLG Toronto happened before SC2 came out in 2008, just in case no one remembers it or started following MLG after they put SC2 into the circuit :D

yeah, its sad though, everytime i make plans and have everything taken care of the event gets cancelled or changed from the norm... IPL6/MLG dallas... Then i didnt plan on anaheim even having an open so I couldnt save with the notice, or even get a player pass lol.
Hoping for a competitor pass for this since i have everything in order, planned and stuff for this event already. 5 months to train for it as well =D

And do you expect SC2 to be there? Their big championship had a 25k prize pool, what would a smaller event have? A 4 man finals of some online tourney? They probably got something bigger going on if they skip a complete championship season, judging from Sundance's tweets during E3 they might have gotten some kind of deal with sony or microsoft to run a tour in the next few months to promote one of the new consoles. I doubt they would have any PC games there, even LoL is small fish compared to that. The good thing is that they have some plans in advance now with a november date set in stone, but we'll have to see what games does that involve.

I love how people will bring out the pitchforks when they know absolutely nothing.
Point #2 has a beautiful shot of the river. However, from my attendance last year, I can tell you from experience that it is one of the dirtiest bodies of water I have ever walked along.

Having been born and raised in Cbus, all of this is completely amazingly true.
Can not wait for MLG to be back in Columbus, the weekend before we have to play that team up north. Great planning by MLG to NOT put this the weekend of THE game.
Great to hear that there will be a premiere event in the Mid-West. While our gamers are spread thin because of the geography (population density), there are many passionate gamers. I sincerely hope that this event will hold an open bracket.
