Evil Geniuses is excited to today announce a partnership with NEEDforSEAT USA. NEEDFORSEAT USA SPONSORS EVIL GENIUSES
SAN FRANCISCO, CA – May 29th, 2013. – Evil Geniuses, one of the world’s leading professional gaming teams, is excited to today announce a partnership with NEEDforSEAT USA, North America’s premier source for professional gaming chairs. As a result of the new sponsorship, Evil Geniuses’ players will be sitting in NEEDforSEAT USA’s DXRacer gaming chairs in the team’s professional gaming houses around the world, including its North American StarCraft 2 & DotA 2 facility, its European League of Legends facility, and its Korean StarCraft 2 facility.
“The DXRacer which NEEDforSEAT USA provided me with is the most comfortable chair I’ve ever had,” said Evil Geniuses StarCraft 2 Captain Geoff “iNcontroL” Robinson. “I really can’t overstate the importance of having a comfortable gaming chair. As a professional gamer, you’re spending literally hours upon hours seated in front of your computer, and without a chair specifically designed for gaming, you can be left exhausted and achy at the end of the day. I immediately noticed a big difference after I started using my NEEDforSEAT DXRacer.”
“We are very pleased to have partnered with Evil Geniuses,” said NEEDforSEAT USA President Thomas Klein. “The best gamers need the best chairs, and we’re happy that EG’s players are already experiencing the benefits of our chairs. We believe that the right gaming chairs allow gamers to practice longer and play harder, and there’s no better gaming chair than the NEEDforSEAT DXRacer.”
Many of Evil Geniuses’ professional gamers – including iNcontroL, EG’s Korean StarCraft 2 division, and the team’s European League of Legends division – have already begun using NeedForSeat gaming chairs at their respective facilities around the world, and the rest of EG’s players will be equipped shortly. Be sure to check out the players’ Twitch.TV streams to see their new chairs in action!

Wait, haven't EGTL been using the DXRacer chairs since the shared dorm was set up? Then why the announcement now? For the rest of EG? Nonetheless, grats to EG, those chairs look super comfy!
Woow this is so crazy when you think about it. "Needforseat" was a company with 2 employees and they expanded like crazy because of esport support. And as i saw today that they expanded to america i was just speechless.
Let's just see an EG member get a tattoo with the sponsorships. It'll be like some horrible kill-sheet that gets crossed off and added to as sponsors join/leave. Congrats though in all seriousness.

EG is a bit bigger than just a couple of guys playing Starcraft in Korea.

They removed a lot of previous ones.
removed like no longer sponsored? Or removed like not important enough to be on the top of the list
They've changed a lot of sponsors, gotten rid of some, added some new ones, maintained about the same number.
That said, iNcontroL did mention a loooooooong time ago that for the minor sponsors, they don't necessarily have to mention them all. They're given a list of "must-mentions", and then asked if they can sprinkle the lesser ones around as needed

Yeah right, I'm sure EG are so desperate for sponsors that they'll make a deal just for some free chairs...
Always better than nothing :D They probably won't have to mention NEEDforSEAT every single time they recite their sponsors, they have a ton of minor sponsors like this.

I doubt they even need to mention it much at all. This is a perfect sponsor for EG because they do so much streaming. When they get up and walk away from the stream for a few minutes to take a break, everyone watching just gets to stare at the dxracer chair, and then you want one because you see it so often.

Although many EG guys were already using and showing these chairs on their streams long before their sponsored by them. At least the LoL players were. In any case this is a great fit. This company has profited hugely from Esports sponsoring, because it perfectly fits the group of people that watches this.
It may be expensive but if someone spends a good portion of their day doing stuff at the computer then I think it makes sense to at least be comfortable while doing it. Not saying that Need for Seat necessarily has the best chairs for that price point but the logic behind a higher priced chair is similar to why you don't skimp on mattresses (unless you're ok with back problems).
So has anyone here actually owned one of these chairs? Are they really good? I might actually want to shell out for one, but without actually being able to try it out first, I'm a bit shaky on the decision.

I bought mine almost 2 years ago and I like it a lot. It's really comfortable.

I got one a few months ago, and I love it. They're expensive, but if you're spending a lot of time at the computer, I think it's easily worth it.
I skipped a few words and read "need for sponsors eg" and was like wut threy dont need any more but oh OK its another sponsor -_- I can't stomach buying a chair that expensive but I guess its probably good chairs
seat people sponsor the teams now and at some point tournaments get so much complaints about bad seating causing bad play that they have to buy em too. Clever Step2 is to somehow make the live viewership want them too.
300 $ chairs aren't that bad, they're good quality, its the insane shipping (to Canada) that really kills the price, else I would have bought one a month ago when I needed a nice chair

Kay, I'll probably get one once I move down to the states. What are the differences between the models other than appearance?
Anyone have experience with one of these chairs? I'm in the market for a chair due to some terrible back soreness/fatigue and it's hard to find reviews on these. They seem like well constructed chairs, but in terms of whether I want to ship one without actually sitting on it (located in Canada, so can't exactly travel across the border to try it out), or just settle for either a cheap no-name or a much more expensive brand name chair.
I've seen some mixed reviews but they were generally on the extreme ends of the spectrum... looking for less biased (eSports-tinted goggles) or less angry thoughts on the actual quality of the chairs themselves.
I've tried to get 2-3 of these seats to Norway, but apparantly Germany hates anyone who isn't within EU, and refuses to send us some ;( Seems near impossible to send them to sweden and pick them up as well, as the nearest pickup point is infinite miles away.

I own an DXRacer myself. It cost about 240 dollars (1700 SEK). I believe its one of their cheapest version since its made of textile and not leather. The quality is great, the surface is not worn out a single bit even after one years constant usage. Couldnt live without this chair, it´s extremely comfortable and worth every single penny. I suggest every gamer to invest in a good chair to prevent back problems and whatnot. For people wanting to buy one I suggest removing the right side armrest and keeping the left side one, its not optimal for gaming. If you live in Sweden you can buy it from "Chilli" (Örebro). They ship aswell.
Every time I sit down in my eighty dollar chair I think "I wish I had two hundred less dollars and the ability to roleplay that I'm driving a riced out car".
Wish we could get these in Australia. Would buy one immediately. Not only as someone who spends all their time in front of a computer as a freelancer, but sponsoring my favourite team is definitely enough of a reason to push me over the line in terms of making a decision to buy. Bought a new headset just the other week and hadn't even heard of Astro before they sponsored EG. I liked the look, had heard great things about the sound quality and didn't hesitate to throw down the money on a set of headphones. Sponsorship definitely works directly and indirectly on people. I know it works on me, I'll support the brands that support my teams any day of the week above a competitor of the same quality, even if its at a price hike.
Congrats to them both. I need a new chair right now have been using a dining room chair for a few months and they aren't the nice to sit in for long periods of time.
300 dollars for a chair? pfft, can get a great chair at staples for 40 and not look like a douche with the racing stripes lol. good for EG though, more free stuff
Fuck I can finally get one in AMerica and not see them all sold out in the EU from Amazon couldn't find that shit at all.

I like flashy things this will go prefectly and and my signed subaru rally poster.
I hope all those money that they receiving gonna convert in some sort of skill. I mean like EG finally gonna reach some sort of critical mass or something... Ya or just buy damn North Korea with all its skill and glory!

Good for EG on getting another sponsor. They're coming back in the race for most sponsors vs LG-IM~
Actually every time that I have seen Flo in the past few months she has been wearing an EG shirt, though that might just be because she is dating ThorZaIN.
Good for EG! And I do understand the need for good chairs. I work 8 hours a day sitting down on a regular office-chair at my office. And coming home to my 900$ chair is like going to heaven! A 300$ chair is still a cheap one imo, but if they're good they're good I guess.

Haha Dennis played a big part in the marketing of that brand. I think if it wasn't for him, I doubt they would have a US store.
This is great, I've been wanting to buy one for awhile. But how do we show we're making the purchase b/c we support EG? Is there a discount code? A link that I'm overlooking?

XD incontrol first, machine step it up!
ill stick with my aeron for now but gratz
Does anyone have experience with the Aeron compared to gaming chairs? I know the Aeron is a classic however it is a bit expensive at around $800. I have never used a gaming chair but I have sat in a car with racing seats if that counts. With LG-IM and now EG having new seat sponsors, it's brought my attention to the gaming chairs. I do feel like I need a new chair regardless, so looking for some input from anyone who has maybe used an Aeron, gaming chair, or both.
