Koreans progamers proved to be too strong on the second day of WCS America, as LG-IM_NesTea and Quantic.Apocalypse advanced in first and second place respectively. Nestea, the three-time GSL champion had entered WCS America as one of the international seeds, while Apocalypse had made it in through the semi-open qualifiers.
The USA's ROOT.Minigun and Peru's LG-IM_Fenix put in good efforts, but could not overcome the Korean wall. Minigun took the only map of the night against the Koreans with an immortal backed bust against Apocalypse, but couldn't get the second win to finish an upset win in the series.
Nestea and Apocalypse move on to join Snute and TheStC in the Ro16 round (played live from New York City), while Minigun and Fenix drop down to the Challenger League.
So close, Chad I LOST SLEEP over the thought of not region locking. Minigun is arguably one of NAs Best players for a solid time not. Just the fact that koreans can compete in an online tourny from Korea, but all outsiders had to travel to korea to LAN qualify. This is a cold shoulder. I Mod WCS EU & NA I cant deny the appeal of the koreans, what I can say is that we will never see another NAr in a booth. Where they all want to be, you all saw NaNi crying! That is what draws views emotions we can relate with! I want people like Minigun to have a chance to make a podium because out of NA, he is our Parting, and I cant imagine putting in so much effort in a game to NEVER play live where every Starcrafter has dreamed of doing.

IdrA might pull of a miracle cant imagine anyone else unless theres some group that only has one korean i dont know about
Obviously it’s only my assumption and I don’t speak for Idra, but it appears his mindset is in a terrible place at the moment (insta-leaving against all the top Terran’s on ladder is not a good attitude to have). Looking at the groups, I feel the best US hopes include Illusion and Goswser. If Suppy plays the games of his life he could make it out of his group too. On a more continental scale I’d be very surprised if HuK didn’t reach the RO16 and I’d say one of MajOr or KiLLeR could make it too (though the odds of both of them making it aren’t great). Scarlett is an obcious choice too but she rolled a particularly nasty group, so who knows.
How did Apocalypse play out his game? When ever I’ve seen him match up against other people on streams he seems to be one of the cheesiest players out there.
Minigun was so close . I'm surprised by Apoc though, he didn't seem as dominating as I expected. Fenix also put up a good fight, which was good to see.

unless your a professional phychiatrist i suggest you leave his mindset out of any conversations

Goswser could do it
he has polt and idra in his group only 2 people get out
gosuuser is way better then idra i think thats why he say gowser ^^ idra isnt that expected and i call it a surprise if idra beat gosuuser
I would say that that Idra has the best ZvZ out of the group so even if he looses to Polt he still has a good chance of making it into the Round of 32.
Good to see Nestea and Apocalypse get out. I watched a little bit of Fenix and Minigun and was sorely disappointed by how incredibly bad they were playing. Hoping to see a single ACTUAL American pull out of WCS NA.

Got my eyes on Goswer.
Well Fenix just came back from a year of not being able to play so cut him some slack ;(

Illusion probably has the best chance
Idra, Goswser, (Polt looked a little off at Dreamhack) and Illusion all have solid chances, but I'm thinking Suppy might have a good shot at making top two in his group.

Okay, that's a reasonable excuse I suppose. I was just really sad to see some of the ridiculous decision making like Fenix committing to a double medivac drop with a simultaneous bad widow mine drop, only to lose both with almost no damage done. It would have been much more beneficial to poke the front and do the same widow mine drop except he would have 2 medivacs + 16 supply more of MM in the end (in addition to taking a 4th base).
Minigun also showed some really poor decision making and overall bad play as well. I couldn't really watch the series between Minigun and Fenix because it just hurt too much to see SC2 pros play so poorly.

Honestly, Minigun played extremely well I am tired of reading this crap whenever a American loses "they were shit" if not for a incredibly ill advised push in G2 Minigun would have won. His defenses in the Apocalypse series were impeccable, his senses were perfect, just... not quite skilled enough. =(

In no way were Minigun's games against Nestea impressive.

This has been discussed a lot in the past, and the overall conclusion is that since TeamLiquid provides a lot of content, it would be an overall loss to limit them on results.
However, they did implement a nice fix, on the main page, below the images, there is a checkbox to "Hide Spoilers".

lol yeah, this is a news site, you don't buy a newspaper if you don't want to find out about recent events, you don't go to a progaming news site if you don't want to find out about who's won what.

And in no way were Apocalypse's game against Nestea impressive. Nestea was on another level. But I agree about Minigun. I thought he played very well and really should have won against Apocalypse. Maybe next season.

Hm... anybody around here remember the times when TL was just a community site where you hand around with your buddies to talk about that game? And to people who do not like spoilers: there is an option to hide them, just look around closely...
As for the topic, Nestea and Apoc are definitely beatable, NA scene seems very disappointing recently... >.<
Minigun was actually really close. He dominated Fenix in the second two games and almost had Apoc. Oh wells...he should do well in the challenger tourney.

It hasn't been that for at least 8 years. Probably longer

There are areas you can chill, just have a bookmark on the strategy section or wherever you want to go, don't expect to not find spoilers on the front page of a news site is the point I was aiming to get across.
