It is a proxy 1 gate with Cyber at home which is slightly firther away and completely unscoutable before you have started your reactor. You'll have a zealot in your base and a stalker shortly after when your reactor finishes and no way to scout it but luck. | ||

I don´t want to get into the "the old SotG was better" thing because its stupid and just a different kind of show but people like Idra, InControl or even Major that have either a different opinion or add something to the conversation besides agreeing help a show like that a lot. Nothing against Harstem, Morrow or Kane but all of them just spend a good hour basically saying "the game is fine". Which might be right but it is a bit boring tbh. | ||

Even when Morrow tried, Artosis made it clear that the direction was a no go and was only going to get him ridiculed, so Morrow stopped as well. Meta is good to talk about the meta, it isn't good for balance talk. | ||

Yeah, Artosis has always been good about shutting down balance whine, which shouldn't really have a place on a show about competitive SC2. Balance discussions are fine, but all of the pro players know how to contact Blizzard and their Esports team and that is a more productive way to make your complaint. Of course a lot of pros will claim that Blizzard doesn't listen to them, but there is a reason for that. | ||

It's not JUST the end result thats important. If you force the protoss to play more safely by having ways to exploit the early game, then they'll have to do the exact same thing as you, like building turrets just in case of oracles ect | ||

I don't think that's quite true, it seemed like pretty friendly joshing to me from all sides and even Morrow admitted that Protoss was having issues in proleague and he was talking about his ladder losses. There have been episodes (the one with Ret comes to mind, along with the one where it was all Toss players still talking about issues with warpgate) where players at length discuss the issues they have with Protoss, both in terms of design and balance, for a considerable time and good discussion was had. | ||

At the same time you have a down vote system which the metrics are reported to blizzard and they can see if specific races are the only people downvoting it. when they see 99% toss veto deadelus but they get like 5% from everyone else, this is the effect they need to go for. when its like 33 33 33 or close . . the map is either balanced or just rubbish . . but if ur having to downvote then this would indicate its rubbish. this not better for the ladder at least? different builds for different maps and when ur forced to think for one minute as this isnt the same format uve been playing a million times over? you get me? | ||

But, to go to your first point. I think even pros can have a larger variety of maps if they also have the veto option. But, you can't get to have demand totally balanced maps (based on whatever the meta is) and also have a veto. That's just lazy. | ||

The episode was a short and overall, pretty average one, I thought. It was good to have Artosis back, though. I think the next Meta, once the major tournaments start up again will likely be better. | ||
