What they're saying about WCS is spot on. I think though that a lot of the problems are because WCS only started this year and started so late. Hopefully next year WCS has more time between tournaments and there is a more strict schedule. Right now there isn't enough gap between the WCS seasons and challenger goes on way too long. This needs to blizzards big focus next year to encourage more independent tournaments.

Very needed points being brought up by the discussion of why Protoss players don't take tournaments. The whole randomness aspect of it that's made it an all-in/200/200 race. Warptech, colossus, weak GW units and 3-base being optimal econ =/ I really want for DK to see the long-tern flaws.

That was really fun to watch and listen to.

Couldn't agree more on WCS and casters.

What does that mean for my 70% ZvP winrate? I guess I just understand the matchup better than TLO and Ret.

Worse opponents obviously! Very interesting and good episode.

Pfff, can't be that...
ZvP compositions matter a lot, which I totally agree with. But I do think there are good middle paths that cannot get "just" countered - and you have enough scouting options.

:D ret.... he really would marry Starcraft it it was a girl. So much passion and love for the game. Ret is best.

What a sad and pathetic display. They now resort to blaming the audience for lacking the sophistication to understand the greatness of the video game they prefer to play. "Oh, if only they understood! If their minds could just develop to understand the delicate complexity of Starcraft!"

This kind of behavior reminds me of Derek Smart responding to criticism of his games.

I think you misunderstood. They are clearly right - viewers generally fail to see most of the intricacies if they don't play on a high level themselves (most do not) and casters generally fail to showcase these things to the general audience, concentrating on entertainment value and the most obvious things (and the ones that are easy to explain). It's the little things that make SC2 (and BW, too) so fun to play and watch, little things that most people don't seem to take notice of.

They are not "blaming the audience", they communicated the need for casters to emphasise these things and balance the silly entertainment factor with proper casting.

Actually they were blaming the casters for not conveying the knowledge properly and instead spout nonsense stuff like "What is your favourite NES game?".

Great show, thanks so much, hoping for more EU Metas . The Blizzard SC2 section should watch this episode.
Maru and Serral are probably top 5.
