Quick note - unless I missed the memo, Empire|Happy is not LG-IM Happy right?
Because that's where Empire|Happy's TLPD link goes to.
EDIT: Ah, its because the Empire|Happy link in the OP goes to the WoL KR TLPD
Gotta use DAT HotS Global TLPD. Here is the correct link to Empire|Happy: http://www.teamliquid.net/tlpd/hots/players/2889_Happy

the best of one format is horrible. it doesnt matter if they have 4 chances to qualify, because they are playing 4 differet players (assuming they are all different). and they could all have different cheeses. mind games is a big part of sc2 that they are taking out of tournament with this format

This thing needs to happen in a reasonable period of time.

It's just until the RO128...then it's BO3

I really want XiGua to qualify. Chinese SC2 scene deserves more representation, and blizzard absolutely dropped the ball on it this year.

I'm pretty sure the only way to qualify is to make top 2 in a qualifier because there are only 6 spots left to fill. I think there is some seeding involved based on performance in earlier qualifiers for later qualifiers. I think someone said the top 32 of yesterday gets seeded or something

All but one of the Koreans actually reached BO3 where they got eliminated. And as for the one Korean who got beaten in the BO1 it was a macro game and not some cheese that killed him.

Was great to follow but the format is not really great for such an important tournament... I know they probably didn't have enough time to plan something better or maybe they don't care enough but BO1 is stupid because even the best players in the world can lose a BO1. There is a reason why BO3/BO5 is the way to go...
Not gonna happen but i think the best would have been to make it a 2 days tourney : - unlimited numbers of spot (free of course) - bo3 from the start - make them play from 1pm to 10 pm (or something like that) for both days - quarters and semi bo5 (or only semis because they give the WCS spots)
Yes it would take more time to organize and everything but would be much much better and it would be fair to everyone. You are an awesome player but lose 0-2 against a noname in the first round ? Too bad you had your chance in a BO3 and you lost, get out.
Honestly it's great to see something like the WCS but i think they should do it in a more professional way. Making a 10 hours tournament with BO1 at the start is a not what a professional tourney should be. They want to crown the world champion but they start with a qualifier with BO1 it's a bit sad.
In the end of course 2 great players qualified but the BO1 at the start is really bad for such a tourney IMO.
Anyways... It's like that so let's just hope everything goes well and that the best players make it through so we can have the best players fighting at the end.

No no he didn't get any point but got the best seed (along with Feast) for the next Premier League qualifier, which only features 256 players, which means he has a good shot today. He could face big names who fell early in the bracket yesterday however.
Concerning sc2 chinese scene I really hope Xigua can get through, I wanna see macsed and Jim too, but I don t see them qualifying on NA though.

Yeah, that was really painful for me to watch, for him to make it that far and fall at the last hurdle. Feast as well had a similarly impressive run. However Happy was seeded 1st and no one can deny that Dayshi thoroughly deserves that win. Ultimately it was the day of the Terran's not Protoss
Will be routing for Bling again today.

If you get taken out of the tournament 4 times in a row in the few "not bo3 yet" rounds you don't deserve by any means to be a part of Code S (or what you might call it). It basically means you play greedy as fuck and are in some way a cheeser on your own. Against player you don't know or who are not as good as you it should be possible to choose a safe build that is save to most cheeses.
