Was wondering how long it would take for someone to shout "NO! THIS GUY IS FASTER". Congratulations, you are the one. Guess if nobody can beat Losira I should just stop recording videos like this from other players?

Can we get the in-game APM of both players and check? Or I guess you can just ask the IM coach, right?

Edit: No, I originally did not intend to say that Losira is faster, but just that it came into my mind when I saw the video. Now that it has been said, I just got to know who's the fastest player in the IM house.

Exactly you didn't post the video thinking he was the fastest and I didn't watch it expecting him to be the fastest. You created a thread about a guy with fast hands, I added to the thread.

I'm annoyed. Spending a shit-ton of time recording and editing those vids and the first thing that happens is always the same: "No, watch this guy, he's even better!!!!!". And yes, that might sound petty but if you've ever experienced it you get what I mean.

Re-read the post Khaldor. Your topic is about Ragnoraks keyboard view, and someone who is probably a Losira fan posted a video revealing another player with a weirdly interesting hand to watch.

Lashing out against forum posters isn't productive .

Well that was extremely aggressive.

Oh, and if you attempt to market your work under the sensationalist title APM VIDEO INSIDE! obviously people are going to post relevant and like-minded videos...

Bro do you even lift?

Ahem, shut up guys let's not make a big deal out of this lol. Ragnarok is fucking fast as hell. Note the unit panel, you can see how good he is about spending his larva, etc. He doesn't use a special hotkey technique to inject his hatches either he just hammers it out lol. Good example of a pro playing super seriously. I don't think he'd be bouncing around his keyboard like that with such force in a more casual setting.

Some people will try to look down upon popular figures breaking out of the cliche "nice guy" routine, but it can refreshing seeing an asshole get called out. Being critical of a stern attitude is usually indicative of either a very emotionally intelligent person or an overly sensitive one. Unfortunately, it's usually the latter that is true (especially on the internet where evidence of emotion can only be taken from the interpretation of someone's writing). So in most cases people should try to relax and not take things to heart so easily. That being said, it doesn't seem like jcroisdale was trying to be an asshole. Most likely he was just trying to squeeze in a comparison,
"Anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that 'my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge."

Alright, just to make sure this doesnt get out of hand. I never called him an asshole or anything. It's just a bit annoying because of the time you spend and the first thing that happens is another video being linked. It can get annoying therefore the reaction. As to why the title in this video is sensationalist to someone I can't say, my problem was that I couldnt go for my "normal" title because of the character restriction.

Would be nice if this thread would focus more on Ragnoroks play than my comment -.-

It's nice to see Korean's play from IRL perspective. Though, isn't that pretty annoying for the player? I wouldn't be able to tolerate people filming me while playing a match?

Also Losira's hands were only shown at the beginning of the match, where one can freely spam APM's. His APM/hand-speed is much lower afterwards.

Don't worry I didn't take offense and other people shouldn't make it a big deal.

On a related note, out of all the players you watched during the prelims was Ragnarok that fastest? If so by how much?

Hey Khaldor, thanks for sharing this. Reminds me of Artosis sharing the brood war tourney qualifiers up and personal.

I really wish you would add some supporting text with this though. I mean I know its just "wow this guy is fast, check it out!"... and thats great. I love it! But if you just added a little backstory behind him or something personal, it would add a lot. I don't have enough time to follow the Code A Quals... I honestly have no idea how well this guy even did or anything.

Did you talk to him at all? Is he advancing? Were others watching? Few quick sentences in the OP would help.

Thanks again
Chance favors the prepared mind.

Word is that Yoda is extremely fast as well, it'd be interesting if we could get footage of him playing sometime. Those are some pretty fast hands on Ragnarok, makes me wish I could play at that speed. The fastest I've seen in person was Jaedong at MLG last year.

(over the shoulder videos of Code A qualifiers are some of my favourite SC2 related things, this coming from a guy who even skips a lot of recommended tournament vods)

In terms of eapm I've never seen higher, both from bw pros and sc2 pros. On topic, theres always something beautiful in watching someone super fast play :D

cool video man. Thanks for uploading!
I was wondering if he used those screen shot camera keys at all? It seemed like he just cycle through his bases with each base on a control group key. Alot of korean zergs tend to do that instead of using the f1-f4 keys for base cams. On jaedong's stream, he also just use control group keys for the queens to cycle to each base.
Any input on this?

Comparing Bomber to Flash when talking about macro doesn't make people think less of either player. Not everyone on the internet has malicious intent in every comment.

Really like your content Khaldor But i don't understand how you can take offense about anything in this thread? Seems abit over sensitive, this is the internet and reading the comments, they are all pretty friendly, even the "worst" ones. Nevertheless, keep on bringing this content it's really nice to see

4.15am over here, definitely going to watch the stream for the code A qualifiers, talk about dedication huh? ^____^

Anyways, your content's always amazing no matter what anyone says, which includes this video.

Oh btw, I PM'd you Khaldor regarding the music on your stream.

I can get 150 average APM tops and that's with the b.net stats being a bit inflated. A good friend of mind barely hits 100 and he's in plat.

Watching videos like this just makes me want to lie down and think about my life or some shit.

I'm annoyed. Spending a shit-ton of time recording and editing those vids and the first thing that happens is always the same: "No, watch this guy, he's even better!!!!!". And yes, that might sound petty but if you've ever experienced it you get what I mean.

Or you could understand that the guy was just trying to link a funny and relevant video. You could have the open-mindedness to figure out that he was not attacking you nor Ragnarok. It meant "Hey guys, remember that cool Losira hands video, well this Ragnarok video reminds me of this, and here's the link" and not "Khaldor you're worthless".

But yeah, that's a lot of stuff to figure out, it's easier and cooler to trash some random forum guy.

I'm sure it's Mangosix coffee^^

As for the whole spat with Khaldor. It's not all that dissimilar to what happened at a Korean weekly cast about a year ago. Khaldor is a bit, well, testy. And people don't like such an attitude.

I can see Khaldor's side of this. That video might distract people from clicking on his content which directly reduces his bread and butter, and perhaps gives a bit of a hit to his professional pride because people don't appreciate his content as much. And I guess all of us want to give Khaldor both of those things as much as possible as then he is more likely to put out more of this kind of awesome content.

On the other hand, people like other kinds of stuff. I actually watched both the Ragnarok and Losira videos (hadn't seen Losiracat's finger magic before), so I appreciated both of them. Others might not click on the Ragnarok video at all, perhaps. It's unfortunate, but I'd prefer if these kinds of forum threads would expand with additional related content because form, as someone lured in by the title, the more content there is the more fun it is for me.

So, I'd really wish Khaldor could a middle road where he doesn't get annoyed and we still get all the cool stuff.

idk, there are a lot of players that play fast, if not faster than ragnarok. Obviously you can cite the LosirA video, but there are plenty others that play just as fast. Although he is a great player! just not impressively fast comparatively.

I know what you mean. I was watching speed skating during the Olympics last year, and this guy who won the gold was acting like he was good or something, but he didn't even hold the world record. He wasn't even top 10. I mean, where do you get off thinking you're even worth watching, Apollo Ohno?

He is legit. Not to take away from your work though Khaldor, but pretty much all the korean pro gamers are incredible at this point. You can basically pick any random gsl level player and he will have some characteristics that stands out as amazing. Still, thanks for the vid I always enjoy watching first person views of top level players.

@Anomaly: that's simply not true. I have more than only this video and some of the koreans I recorded aren't nearly as fast as him. For example Action or Paralyze are much slower than Sound and Ragnarok

What do you mean by that?

He means, you're quick to snap, get angry and take offense to comments and make things a bigger deal than it is. Khaldor is always aggressive in comments to things criticizing him. I don't really have a problem with that because it's natural to get mad at criticism. Everyone handles criticism differently.

However, I did lose a lot of respect for khaldor over the way he treated dragon in the code a qualifies and by how much he hates dragon. Threatening not to stream dragon just because his fans were spamming chat was immature because dragon can't control that, so don't take it out on him. Khaldor also hates how dragon is an entertainer and runs a fun stream.

Wait... He seriously said that? Dragon is one of the nicest dudes in eSports, he truly loves the game and his fans and he's fun to watch.

The fact that Khaldor disrespected him like that.. I don't even know what to say.

So even after I interviewed Dragon, casted his game (which I could have easily avoided) AND recorded a FP POV video of him you still go on your little hate rants? Not to mention I had to endure all the shit that Dragon "fans" pulled not only in my streamchat (without me even doing a thing to provoke them) and on Bnet? And btw. a person can very well control the behaviour of his/her fans to a certain extent.

You guys are seriously fucked up. Get off your high horse, it's simply emberassing at this point. Dude spends his entire free time to give you content despite you acting like juvenile kids and you are still finding a reason to go on your hate trips. Unbelievable. I really don't understand how your brains work. And also not why I keep spending my freetime for people like this.

Trying to please everyone is a completely fruitless venture. You put out the content, those that like it will say they do, and the (usual) minority will be more vocal because that's how they are. Can't make everyone happy, that's like day 1 in content production school- can that be a thing btw?

Calling people fucked up, juvenile and generalizing over everyone is probably not going to yield a nice mature relationship with your own fan-base.

To be fair Khaldor did carry his own desktop computer from his house to Shindorim to cast Code B. Code B LR threads are usually just a bunch of lunatics F5ing and stalking bnet accounts. Instead we got live updates and got to watch a few games. He did it out of his own volition, unpaid, during his free time. He can shit on whoever he wants in his free time, on his own stream. And Dragon fans really were horrible in chat, and they are lucky Khaldor still gave in and casted a game (where he got mauled by an amateur).

Edit: I'd rather Khaldor insult me and call me names on an internet forum than not to get to watch Code B. For all I care he can do whatever he wants as long as I get me some Code B action.

I quite obviously addressed my post to a very specific group. But you are quite obviously just another troll/hater. I keep being reminded why I told myself to limit the amount of posts here to an absolute minimum. Thanks for the reminder, I'll follow my own advice now.

Aaaand an insult. Thanks. Look, you're being rude. It might be acceptable to some (hell, I might be one of them as I watch most things you do) but please listen to common sense. Swearing and calling people whatever is going to making things more difficult for you. And it's not an internet thing. Can you imagine calling me juvenile, a hater or a troll to my face? No, right. It's not part of civil conversation.

Take it easy Khaldor. Your enthusiasm and your effort, especially in your free time, are very well appreciated, but there'll always be naysayers and people who don't get that you may feel .. let's call it talked down by a simple "Losira's better anyway, check this out:" post. Plus, as you see, there'll always be guys who happily jump on your posts if you happen to get upset once in the first place. So, from german guy to german guy (although I'm not bald and handsome ), chill out and don't let those guys get the better of you, in particular because there's a whole lot of very grateful guys around here who'd certainly miss your efforts.

He means, you're quick to snap, get angry and take offense to comments and make things a bigger deal than it is. Khaldor is always aggressive in comments to things criticizing him. I don't really have a problem with that because it's natural to get mad at criticism. Everyone handles criticism differently.

Look, I like you. I like your channel, I'm a subscriber on your Youtube and Twitter and I watch as much GSTL as I can. I might've even met you once or twice at GSTL to say hi.

But you're in the entertainment business. Sure, this is something that isn't broadcasted, and I understand that you work very hard to put out this material, but you need thicker skin and not to snap at other people, no matter who's in the right or wrong. Because at the end of the day, even if they posted it maliciously (which it wasn't), you're the one in the public eye and you only will get hurt for acting out.

Considering he snapped at something that wasn't there, I'd say he could probably use it. If he doesn't want it, he doesn't have to listen. Just like basically everyone else here, I'm not someone in the community that has done anything and I have nothing to lose by speaking out.

I like Khaldor because he does what he does, including to tell people if they are being idiots. Wish more would do it ... because they need to be reminded sometimes or they get worse. As long as someone doesn't say that every viewer is an idiot and their opinions are meaningless all is fine.

Haha, this whole thread is a laughing fest because of Khaldor's snapping at something that clearly was not there. I think this thread is funny. Yes, keep telling your public how idiot they are, when snapping like this ^^

Bottom line however, I dont mind. We must allow ourself to snap. Khaldor's effort is still recoqnized, and is still appreciated. As a reader and watcher of Khaldor's work, I choose to just appreciate what was given to us. Thank you for sharing Khaldor.

I always love videos of players hands, especially when I can see the player's body as well. I find that they give me something to strive for (and it just looks really cool). Thanks Khaldor!

Ok Khaldor, let me explain it this way.

Lets say that there is a person who loves SC2 and really appreciates the content that you, Khaldor, produce for the community. It is awesome.

Lets also say that the same person watches streams regularly, and enjoys watching Dragon stream from time to time.

What will that person think when they read a tweet from you saying, basically, that you have no respect for anyone who watches Dragon stream? Won't that person be a bit confused? This is the situation I am in. I hope you understand.

I really don't understand why people spam like this anymore. I did it for a while approaching 300 APM before I finally just sat back and wondered.. "why the fuk am I even doing this for"

Now I just quietly and smoothly go from one needed action to the next, similar to goody is known for I suppose.

Have done this for a while, I see no difference and no advantage as to slamming buttons down repeatedly for no reason at all.

If anything, you're just putting "miles" on your fingers and hands

We love you khaldor

Thanks for the video, hadn't had the opportunity to see his hands because the production fails at tourneys and rag doesn't stream

Also this looks incredibly unhealthy on the hands/wrists, I doubt the body can handle this sort of punishment for long but I am just a semi educated individual not a human biologist/bone-joint specialist

Consistently making fast paced decisions through out the game is probably helpful. It might not be necessary to do, especially early game, but it's still practicing something that's difficult.

If you look at what Ragnorak is doing, constantly switching screens and focus, that's impressive and worth doing. Constantly right clicking move command isn't, to me anyway.

First; thanks for the video Khaldor.
Second; yes, but. Look at musicians sure they COULD play faster but would it still sound good? Same goes for SC2, as long as your decision making and strategy doesn't suffer under your constant spaming its fine.
In sc2 spamming isn't as needed as it was in BW due to hotkeying production buildings etc.

That is a silly comparison cause with music playing faster then intended it would simply sound bad.
With sc2 you suddenly don't play worse when you play faster.

And the fact that there is no realistic mechanical skill ceiling in SC2 (sure BW's was higher, but comparing infinites is pointless unless you're a mathematician) means that having more effective APM (effective, not spam) will make you better. A simple example: more APM can allow you to have better splitting, since you can move marines/lings/whatevs in smaller groups for a better spread. No progamer will ever reach the point where he can individually micro dozens of marines against banelings. There is no ceiling, only endless space.

He means, you're quick to snap, get angry and take offense to comments and make things a bigger deal than it is. Khaldor is always aggressive in comments to things criticizing him. I don't really have a problem with that because it's natural to get mad at criticism. Everyone handles criticism differently.

Haha, I like your translations (when you don't add your personal notes to them without warning) and you don't snap at people as much as you did in the past. How do you think that whole wozzot stuff got started? Didn't he say he specifically riled you up because you were so easy to provoke or something like that? You were quick to snap at people if they criticized your translations.

That is a bad comparison. If you speed up your game play in sc2, you could still get the same result. I.E right clicking somewhere faster doesnt change how fast the marine moves. But if you play music faster, the tempo changes and it sounds differently. To make youre comparison more accurate would be if we were to build something faster, lets say an ovie at 8 instead of 9, then yes, the game and build order would be different.

Even so, like someone said there's no real ceiling for your apm in this game. Eventually it could be 10000000 apm and at some distant extreme late stage of a game there would still be something you missed even with that much.

I still think that the only thing you're doing by spamming hard at the start of a game is wearing yourself out needlessly. I'm just a nobody though, my opinion means nothing and I'm sure they all do it for reasons beyond what I and maybe many of us are capable of comprehending.

I remember when Mvp streamed a few times, he wasn't really spamming AT ALL. While he does seem to do it in his tourneys, in a lot of those games I took notice that he was being extremely methodical with what he was doing with no wasted movements.

I agree with you. If those APMs would be made to split and control armies better while at the same time injecting, spreading creep, upgrades, new buildings, I would understand. This is just jumping back to hatcheries every few seconds for no reason. You also have minimap to check for armymovement. Anyway, would be nice to instead of speculating, to actually have some pros shed some light on this. When people's wrist hurt, get injured, and seeing this, it makes you wonder.
And no, I dont buy the warm-up (unless first 10-30 minutes of the day). I've played instruments, and never have I seen someone spam their instrument to death before every new piece of music as "warm-up".
I think Day9 nailed it once, APM is how much you remember.

@HanzoSC2 You actually watch Dragon??? I think I just lost all the respect I had for you :-(

Yeah me too. I had heard his name before but this was the first time I oculd attach a name to the face. So he left a poor first impression then his overreaction here. I could have done without knowing who he was
