It's probably TL or Acer.

If it was Acer why would he go to the EG-TL house and not the Axiom house?

Maybe is here just to visit ? Or for 1000 possible reason...

I'd buy a hat and eat it if naniwa joins EG.

Nani to EG would be a great move actually!

Then Nani will drop in skill xD the EG curse already lingers !

It's not even a curse, if he has to become a "personality" and stream all the time instead of hard training it's pretty understandable how his skill could drop, EG seems to care more about image than wins. I really hope it's not EG, for the sake of Nani's continued growth, the EG retirement home would not be a good choice.

i think the title retirement home fits TL much more, you know, with haypro, jinro, the korean terran and probably soon more. And to think that Nani doesn't know that EG works this way and doesn't read his contract with EG is just... how stupid do you think he is? Do you expect him to sign with EG and suddenly he realizes "Oh, i have to stream a lot, go around a lot, make interviews, etc.. If only i had read my contract where this all stands more clearly". And if he wants that, then he has to agree to it, which would be his decision.

on a more serious note, just cause he was at the house doesn't necessarily mean he'll be joining either team. maybe he was just visiting, or maybe he's on a team that doesn't have a house in korea and gets to live at the EGTL house

The general philosophy is more aimed towards mannerism and likeable person rather than raw skill and complete dismissal of most teammates/players (which NaNiwa does).

Yet they're being carried by a raw skill player for over a year now.

Nani is likable enough for people that aren't ridiculously oversensitive, and is a decent guy overall. There's not much you can pin on him behavior-wise that you also can't pin on Nony, one of the original and most respected Liquid members.

No he definitely has an attitude problem and is very self-centered. He's very much worse than Tyler. Publicly, I'm sure we can find similarities, but within teams NaNiwa can be troublesome.

Taeja is the most neutral person there is, there is absolutely nobody who can really dislike him for anything. So even though he doesn't fit the usual "nice community loved guy" thing most TL players have going on, he doesn't bring anything negative either.

Nani, on the other hand, does something very stupid every single time he gets some attention, a lot of people hate him for it. On top of that, he isn't even skilled enough to compensate for that. There are no upsides for signing nani for TL.

Naniwa has quite a fanbase. He sometimes does stupid stuff but when he does well he gets quite some positive attention. His skill is very fluctuating. He kinda goes from feeling week to training a lot to getting overconfident rinse repeat.

But the fact that he has quite some following means EG would probably recruit him.

what i don't get about TL is they have this philosophy and are the biggest starcraft site in the english language, yet their players are virtually invisible outside of tournaments. Tyler used to do SotG, but that's about it. i dig the idea of signing people you get along with, but maybe they should try to also promote these players, especially given they do not bring in results aside from their terran and their protoss.

Right. Aside from ESET UK Masters, where Snute got 1st and Ret and TLO got to the quarterfinals (also every Liquid player topped their group) and IEM where Ret got to the quarterfinals and did extremely well in his group. Yeah, you could call that no results...

obviously no results is exaggarated. but close to no relevant results is fair imo. i don't think 90% of the sc2 community know what ESET UK Masters even is (i don't and i watch way too much starcraft). Ret did well at IEM, but that's one tournament and he didn't win it. either way, that wasn't the main point of my post anyways and you're just arguing semantics.

i'm not trying to hate on TL btw, i love the site, i love Taeja, i love Hotbid and i have no problems with any of their players or management. it's just that i've been wondering how it's possible that EG is soo much better at promoting their players without having direct access to the biggest sc2 community site.

Well, teamliquid does noting controversial, while EG takes way more risks. EG is a very polarising team, but teamliquid kinda tries to be a home for everybody.

The site is mostly neutral from what I can see, though. Whenever something happens related to a team, there's an announcement thread, and it's the same for Liquid and any other team (or their players), and that's that.

I think the last (only?) time tl.net was used specifically to promote the team was during the Dreamhack finals when they replaced default white background with a Hero/Taeja one.

I really don't think EG has enough money to afford Naniwa. Yes, they're extremely rich, but they've been signing new players left and right. That money has to run out some time. Plus, Naniwa doesn't really fit EG, since he's very results-oriented, and likely wouldn't care about sponsorship videos. I can see TL. It would be a controversial pickup, sure, but it'd work. Naniwa si extremely determined, and TL values that kind of work-ethic. Acer is also really likely.

From the fact that Naniwa wanted to "hide" who his team was and wait on announcing it should be a decent hint that it's EG. EG likes to do silly videos when they sign players. Just look at Stephano... Anyway, EG always has enough money!

That's a fine call. With the WCS announcement all of his chances of being successful in Korea burned.

The players that do sponsorships videos are mainly players that haven fallen of in skill. Naniwa is not very expensive as nearly no team wants to have him he has not much choice. I guess EG would likely let him focus on results if he wants and only make him do sponsorship videos if he cannot deliver results.

I'm pretty sure its not EG otherwise we would have seen some kind of hint already, probably only visiting the house to practice or something.

That was a year ago. Wow, it doesn't seem that long.

As for aLive, they didn't have one for Revival either. They do videos for big stuff (Stephano, Thorzain, Jaedong etc.).
