What does back-to-back even mean when there are tons of tournaments all over the world? What if you miss a tournament does that break your streak, what tournaments count? (MLG? Assembly? IEM? Iron Squid?) In any case when was MVP a back-to-back champion? I'm pretty sure it never happened in the GSL at least. | ||

After his first GSL win, MVP had a slump for several months before coming back and dominating. As I understand it, the point was that Life took a GSL title, then immediately won an overseas endurance tournament, and has continued to play at an extremely high level. But I don't know enough Starcraft history to know if anyone's had a similar trajectory. | ||

MMA was probably closest (GSL October 2011, GSL Blizzard Cup 2011, IEM Kiev) but I'd put Life's run ahead of him. We haven't seen this kind of dominance in Starcraft 2 yet. It's very interesting to follow. Anyway, great video by Redbull. Life needs more hype when he can get it, I feel like we could be watching something special. | ||
