At least make it 5PM PST or something when everyone in the US is off work. 8PM isn't a bad time to watch GSL for East Coasters. They asked in the reddit thread and I guess this time worked out the most for everyone 21 hours ago, and not many people are aware of every reddit thread. This scheduling is still probably a work in progress, and they will probably wait to hear more feedback on good times. To be honest, champ, your signature (on the presumption that it is serious) shows that you are not worth having a rational conversation with.

If more people had his attitude there wouldn't be Esports at all. Also, 4pm is an amazing time. And it's not just North America they are catering to.

To be honest, champ, your signature (on the presumption that it is serious) shows that you are not worth having a rational conversation with. I thought his signature was sarcastic at first glance. If not, I totally agree with you.
The fact that they're now rebroadcasting it at a more reasonable time goes to show that they agree.
It's not reasonable to ask people to stay up from 2AM-6AM for a daily tournament. In like 240p, no less. I know it's been upped since, but that's what it was when I made my signature. So you were pretty much obligated to buy VODs if you wanted watch it at a reasonable time. So as a result of this unfair practice, I rarely watch GSL, and I'm sure it excludes a lot of other people from watching as well.
Other tournaments like NASL and IPL have rebroadcasts, there's no excuse that GSL hasn't had one until now.
I have no problem charging for VODs as long as a reasonable free option is available. But unfortunately, up until now that free option excluded a large chunk of the world, so it didn't exist for a lot of people. Again, it's unreasonable to ask people to stay up from 2AM-6AM for a daily tournament
This move by them is a step in the right direction.

It's not the same thing for everyone that doesnt make sense. live is at an inconvenient time for U.S.; thats why i dont watch it live. if i could, i would watch it live. what i am asking is why you would want a rebroadcast when you can just go on their website and watch the VODs. vods cost money. ah, so its for people who dont want to pay. that makes sense. you would think that they would just allow people to watch SQ vods instead of rebroadcasting, but whatever.
There's also some charm in watching an actual broadcast over vods, regardless if it is a rebroadcast or not. Each form has its own advantages of course, a broadcast can be a little more interactive with having chat capabilities with other viewers and really easy to get into, while vods are are a little more out of the way and isolated but with more control for your own personalization. Vods also sometimes take a little while to get uploaded, and missing a first broadcast doesn't make subsequent broadcasts worthless either. Television stations will often repeat their programming after a while, and it's not like everyone who missed the first showing immediately gives up and finds it on the internet, some of the don't mind watching the second one a few hours later. Peoples preferences will vary.

This x100. Every time I can manage to stay up until 5am and watch live it's so awesome to be a part of the LR thread.

I would love it if they put it at a time accessible for those in the PST zone. Europe's pretty blessed with the live timing.

The game has been released for almost 3 years. The push for esports is so big. The reason GOM is doing this is NOT for exposure to a different demographic..

Even though I won't have much from the rebroadcast, I really appreciate the gesture.

I'm just so happy about this!

Reddit is only read by americans, europeans are way to intelligent to use such a terrible site.

They're rebroadcasting today too?

It is during work for a lot of people well, now GSL is at 1:00 a.m. (live) and during work 1:00 p.m. (rebroadcast). so, equally useless for west coast U.S. =)
