Hello everyone,
Alot of you know me well from 2011 as one of the known unorthodox Terran players out there. Others who don't know me, welcome and hope you get to know me better!
I used to be a part of vVv Gaming and recently wasn't upholding the new requirements due to the management change. Hence, I am not on a team anymore. I love vVv for being that team out there to take in a casual player like myself who never ever thought of competing at live events. Since then I gained a bad rep for being on the team, but I didn't care what others thought so much. I was the only player on vVv to come 1 game from championship bracket at MLG Providence, which I still hold proud to myself. Thank you vVv for doing what I would have never dreamed of doing.
For all of you out there RuFF isn't gone, but just starting again! This entire year has been a big flunk of RL issues moving, relationship, and school. I have partnerships with Twitch.tv and Own3d.tv, and still plan to use my partners to stream content for all of you.
For my viewers out there, thanks for being awesome and watching me even though I was only active maybe once a week during the year! For this new year you all will be seeing me streaming probably 4+ hrs every weekday and possible weekends. I will also be looking for a new team to call home and get the experience and practice I need to go further like I did back in the day.
I'm not dead in the SC2 Community yet! So if your interested in crazy thor drops, silly marine timing attacks, mass reapers against zerg. Hit up my stream at:
http://www.own3d.tv/vVvRuFF (This may change because of leaving the team)
Also if your interested in coaching you can find me at z33k.com. I used to be the head terran coach at hotkeyit.com and my RL job is teaching! So, I know how to coach!
Thanks everyone!

I love your stream, so funny watching your weird builds xD
|
vVv isn't really well known, as i've never seen any of their players compete, much less place. I am sure you can find a new team to pick you up. (Shameless plug for FXOpen.NA, who could use players)
I've not heard of you until now, but if you are truely "unothadox", that means you innovate your own builds rather than follow like a mindless sheep, and I hope the best for you.
|
I played you in ladder recently @_@, your playstyle can be so annoying to play against >____> wish you best of luck ^_^~
|
I heard OF vVv but assumed they died a long time ago 0.o Anyways gl on the future, sucks that you have to write your own 'I 'm leaving post'....I'm guessing vVv doesn't do well at promoting themselves?
|
never heard of either... don't know why you would make a thread in General Discussion about yourself leaving an unknown clan..
|
vVv isnt unknown, i rarely pay attention to NA scene but even i know what vVv is, they are not large in sc2 whatsoever but other games i presume they are. i thought they disbanded early last year tho
|
Infamous BM player leaving a shady organisation that has multiple examples of mistreating players.
Yeah, pretty much it.
|
Shortizz pretty much summed it all up
i will never forget owning you on ladder and you were so enraged you started writing a lot of bm stuff about me including that you were famous and i was stream sniping you.
the funny thing about that was i had never heard of you before and was streaming too and me and the 10 people who were watching just fell of our chairs laughing...
you really acted like some kind of a starcraft superstar XD
And about the various builds that you use you are talking so much?you only 1 base marine/medivac/stim timing all-in every single game against protoss.and you've been using it for a year now?
im sorry but you just arent significant enough to post such threads... you are not a sc2 superstar, please come down to earth.

well i dunno about advertising although it awfully resembles one but i definitely consider it inappropriate.

Yes, doing the currently strongest, most stable and optimal builds is 'being a mindless sheep' and not simply using logic.

This is specifically against Twitch's partnership contract. You may want to revisit this...
Regardless, good luck finding a new team. I do find it weird that vVv released you as I literally know like 1-2 other people on their main roster, or whatever it is now... @_@;;

Best of luck to you RuFF! If you're ever looking for a new team, hit us up!

I've learned quite a few cool builds and ways to abuse the matchup watching Ruffs stream over the past year. Proxy inbase rax float/bunker in the corner tvp, 5 rax marine into reaper into stim timing or 2star tvz, etc. I don't think there are many streamers out there that go so far beyond the current meta (except maybe dragon troll games)
|
All the times ive played/watched people play you, your "unorthodox builds" are just all-ins
The world is a better place without another bitbybit.Prime
All i wish for you that you change your playstyle in HoTS.
|
Hopefully 2013 works out for you, good luck!
|
|
Does TL really need threads about no-name players leaving a no-name team? I don't mean to be rude, but if this happened every time a player of your caliber left a team of vvv's caliber, this would be an extremely flooded forum. This isn't news by any means.

RuFF reminds me of Namhcir. They find the quickest and easiest way to win. And I respect them for that. This is what the Korean ladder is all about.
It is good to have people around like him, they make it interesting.

We currently have roughly 30 players in our SC2 division including two aspire teams and are rebuilding our professional roster.

Short answer: We decided to let Ruff go. When we informed of him of that decision, he requested that we do not make a post. We honored that request. It's unfortunate that he made this post without telling us that he was going to frame it as "he leftt."
We wish Ruff the best of luck in his future endeavors.

whatever they are, they're not changing much of vVv's image or notability.

Awful BM player leaving an awful team really worth a post? vVv has seemingly never put in any effort whatsoever in getting themselves in the public eye. Best of luck I guess, but I really don't think this is at all relevant to anything, unless you're just advertising yourself so another team will come along and give you a shot.
|
Good player although I don't think its the right time for any player to leave their team with all of the talent that is free right now it would be really hard to get a place in any team that isn't small. Ruff is good though I remember his style is pretty interesting and hopefully he can find a good team.

I thought his post was well-written. It mentions that he didn't meet his requirements, hence the reason why he's not on vVv anymore.

Quite a lot of hate on this thread. Honestly if I am going to watch a foreigner play then its going to be someone like Ruff who does he own builds and is actually quite entertaining rather than someone else copying a Koreans build and style but performing it half as well.

Love to see people who get BMed on the ladder come onto the forums and try to get revenge lol. You know that's the only reason they're posting in this thread.

everyone has this weird idea that only certain people bm MOST of the people that play this game including pro players bm there are different degrees of it, but almost everyone has said some shit

Yeah all players should switch their play style to passive macro games on huge maps in order to appeal to the subset of TL posters who prefer watching that style.

This is one thing I don't understand. As a player who has played against RuFF in GM League, I can tell you his builds are not unique at all. Its generic shit that he does every game to try to win the game early, because he cant macro for his life. Every time I saw RuFF in the loading screen, I would know I had to play safe and defensive every game, and it works out every time because he never plays a straight up macro game, and always tries to find ways to severely cripple an enemy to the point where his shitty macro can pull him for the victory. Granted, I haven't played SC2 for a year now and I don't know if his playstyle has changed or not, but this was what it was like to play against RuFF.

In SC2 we tend to focus more on developing players who are passionate about improving. For Example, Glon going to Bronze to Grandmaster and his runs at MLG, RuFF, Toxsik, daisuki, etc

Sorry everyone, I should of made it a bit clearer when I posted. Leaves can be seen as removed and I am not trying to frame it as "I left". I am sure you understand that internet is one of the biggest forms of miscommunication out there. This post is simply here to inform people that I am still going to keep going in the StarCraft Community. Not as a form to banter and argue with vVv. To be removed because I am not posting in a forum to satisfy players in lower leagues is not how I want to approach this game. I want to be competetive and practice with known players like back in the day while streaming and doing tournaments. I posted on a good note, I would hope it stays that way.

He's the same way. It's what I did to whenever I saw ruff on the screen. Play extremely safe where if you played vs a macro oriented terran you would be behind, but you know it doesn't matter you just have to survive his early cheese then proceed to win from there ^_^.

They wanted you to post in the vVv forums? Then kicked you for not doing so? I will not comment... but I am both surprised and extremely disappointed in their approach. You/Hasuu have sacrificed a lot to stay on that team through all of the shit that has happened in the past 8 months - would have hoped that you would at least have been able to benefit from the stability now.

Below is a brief outline of our new expectations. If you think any of these are 'absurdly dumb' or unrelated then I don't know what else to say.
+ Show Spoiler + You actively engage your fan-base on multiple mediums, including Twitter and Facebook, live streaming, and written and video content
You actively pursue promotion of your organization, sponsors and brand, both in-game and out
You are consistently in communication with your organization and management in terms of team development and brand promotion
You follow a consistent practice schedule (which includes strategy discussion and game play review as well as in-game practice)
At events you represent and support your organization 100% of the time (including networking with other teams, wearing team and sponsored gear, and utilizing social media)
At events you work with staff and management to create promotional media for the organization (including photos, video, interviews, etc)

As far as macro goes I do agree I lack there a bit, but I have been doing some decent macro play I got some nice 2 base timings that take a 3rd and 4th behind them. Dunno, I am just itchy to constantly be fighting on the map. Don't like to idle in the base a lot, prefer that agression. vVv is huge in LoL, not like LgN huge or TSM huge.
But they've got amazing LoL players.

vVv did MLG(s) but then stopped suddenly.

I totally agree. playing defensive macro games are rather dull to watch. It's much more entertaining with constant contact between the two players. Personally I hate watching 30+ min games where nobody attacks at all.
People only seem to think only macro games = skill, but timing pushes are an art as well. I say keep up the good work RuFF!

To be removed because I am not posting in a forum to satisfy players in lower leagues is not how I want to approach this game. I want to be competetive and practice with known players like back in the day while streaming and doing tournaments. I posted on a good note, I would hope it stays that way. This much I buy. vVv has always had absurdly dumb unrelated requirements of their players.
You know what, that all sounds reasonable if you're compensating someone well (although half of those are so vague that they could include getting in trouble for not posting on the community forums enough - which for a 'pro' player would absolutely be an absurd requirement). Are those players not being compensated also required to abide by these exact rules?

I feel like the team is the one who makes the threads about players leaving first of all, and secondly this is a pretty horrible excuse for indirectly advertising on TL to try to get more followers on your stream and to make money from coaching.
|
Is vVv that team that that cheater, what was he called... Spades belonged to?
|
GL Ruff, I've watched the stream a few times, always entertaining. I never saw BM, but maybe it's there. Hopefully you can improve the stream quality--that was the thing that turned me off, but I saw some cool stuff using reapers in the playhems.

Don't know very much about you. But I wish you the best, even though you speak of yourself in third person lol.

vVv lets everybody go, what else is new? Remember when they canned the whole team except for Titan? I have very little respect for this team.
RuFF fighting! Love your strategies. More players should think for themselves.

Yea, fuck this guy, wanting fans and all. He should simultaneously suck at BW, WoL, and HotS like some other players I can think of.

I've not heard of you until now, but if you are truely "unothadox", that means you innovate your own builds rather than follow like a mindless sheep, and I hope the best for you. Yes, doing the currently strongest, most stable and optimal builds is 'being a mindless sheep' and not simply using logic. Yea I guess ST_Life has shit logic for using 14 pool in a day and age when 15h was considered optimal. Threads like these just show how much like a highschool TL can be. If you don't like the thread, then don't post. Easy as that, you don't bump the thread with your snide comments and remarks.
I don't watch this guys stream much but I have tuned in periodically just to see what kind of whacky builds he plays. True he hasn't been a top caliber player but he reached a pretty high rank in GM while doing exclusively original builds and tactics. Anyone who is decent at this game should have some appreciation for the difficulty in that instead of trying to act like you're actually better than him (which you arent). GL Ruff

They get their hotel paid for. That's good at least. But yeah for what they require from their players they give the players literally almost nothing while making them do a ton to get exposure. This is why they are irrelevant to the sc2 scene.

I learned along time ago that its no use talking or discussing stuff with people that cant play the game they play. That's why i rarely talk in my games mostly not to get involved in something that just wastes my time. So what im saying is that you should just ignore the people that has no clue what they are talking about.

Where we really make things count is with our community and Aspire teams these days. Aspire is a great place for serious players to improve together and our community has a number of streamers and casters who are a great resource for anyone looking to improve in those areas.

Right, and that's all well and good, but the point is, given the guidelines that were mentioned above, it's a bit, well, odd to ask that much of players and to give them so little in return.
