Dark isn't even registered on Proleague roster iirc, they probably picked him up only to help the transition as a practice partner.

I don't think SuNo is that good of a prospect anymore to be honest.

From what I get from watching his stream he is laddering hardcore HotS, so maybe some team will pick him up for the start of HotS? I don't know, but I wished he would've gone to Liquid immediatly, because now TL is the only high level team I can think of that would take him.

I'm actually thinking tl here, lives with some of them, they need somebody new, especially a terran (taeja is the only one atm and they lost 3 members this year). Other than that maybe eg if they still have money left to throw around, or fnatic (though i feel like they will pull out of korea soon) or maybe some esf/kespa team.

I'm always so confused about what teams like mTw actually do.

What benefit did they get from SuperNoVa? What benefit did they think they would get? What benefit do they get from keeping Dimaga around? What benefit do they get from Sc2? Do they even have a plan for Sc2?

There are teams like this; SK, mTw, MYM, that sort of seem to pick up players for the hell of it, and then eventually let them go and move on. I'm confused about who or what supports these organizations. Other games, right? Then what on earth are they doing with these limp wristed Sc2 expeditions?

When mTw released their full team, the manager said something like "It's not worth having a full team in SC2, because there is no Western teamleague that gives them exposure" (I am not 100% sure of the end of the sentence but it is something approximate to that). SK gaming manager (Alex Müller-Rodic) also says it's not worth having a team, SC2 is a 1on1 discipline and we only need to support only potential tournament winners like MC.

And I have to agree to that. They need only one icon to uphold their brand. The WC3L teamleague was more prestigious than all solo tournaments (except maybe WCG). Teams had a certain magic to them, legendary 4Kings, money-boasting MYM, the we-make-our-name-true World Elite, team-with-the-best-website SK Gaming, try-hard mouz and so many more. Fans track players' performances, fantasize about who they seed on which map, etc. You only needed to compete in that league to get exposure whereas in SC2 you need to promote individual players. In SC2 teams behave more like an agency for players than a sports team, which is sad in my opinion. There is no magic in this, no "team feel". And the classic teams struggle in that regard.

It's nice to have IPTL and EGMCS, but unfortunately, they are overshadowed by solo tournaments by so much. EG-TL escaped to Korea to play proleague and it was so, so nice to see foreign players on camera play as a team again (in playday 1 at least). Sadly, two years into SC2, this is nothing you can see in the West.

I don`t think that Liquid will pick him up, as they had the opportunity to do so since Ogs disbanded and he even lived with Hero/Jinro/TLO, but still they went for other options. After the Sea debacle I would assume that they will focus on strenghtening their EU/NA-presence.

indeed, that's it!
the WC3L was really something great and currently i'm really missing those german brands like mouz, mtw, mym and also sk (since they only have one player :<) in the big sc2 business.
why can't we have something like a SC2L? i'm not sure but wasn't the WC3L sponsored and held by ESL? they can make it happen again.

It doesn't really work out that well for organisations like that though. EG has fans. Mouz has fans. Fnatic has fans. SK doesn't. mTw doesn't. You get MC and Dimaga fans instead and that doesn't help the team's sponsors as much as if they had team sponsors.I know that Monster or Kingston are behind Jaedong, Stephano and Thorzain, because of EG. I know that RaidCall and MSi are behind NightEnD, aLive and Oz, because of Fnatic, and I know that Razer and TLAF are behind TLO and TaeJa because of Liquid, but I don't really care whose behind SK, because even though I'm a fan of MC, I don't really hear or care about SK. The only reason why they keep it up, is because mTw and SK already had a huge fanbase before SC2.

Teamleagues might not be the focus of SC2 in the West (though I would very much welcome a shift to team leagues), but that doesn't make teams irrelevant.

We really need a big American and European team league events, and not online leagues. Imagine how awesome it would be to have a team league like GSTL with events held around Europe, like Round 1 in Paris, Round 2 in Berlin, Round 3 in London and the Final Round in Stockholm...would be so amazing T.T
