I'm sorry, but could you remind me the last time Revival won anything? When was the last time he even beat a code S level player?
I don't understand all this hype for a player who was basically just an understudy of Hyun. And his career win rate never even peaked over 50%.

Revival is more of the borderline Code A/B player who only really had success in European online cups. He might not be the most accomplished, but he can be used to snipe players of his skill level, and is a really good practice partner probably.

Not every player needs to be an ace. A solid player in a good practice environment with the right preparation is all that is needed.

After reading several pages of this thread I think I just shouldn't click on forum topics that involve EG.

EG is just picking up players like crazy, I guess you can do that when you got the money
|
Wow...is it just me or does EG look like they're getting a lot of notable players...

EG Manager: So I see Zerg has been winning a lot lately. Let's buy them. EG Underling: Buy them? But. . .Zerg isn't a player, it's a race. EG Manager: Yes. Buy them. Buy ALL of them.
And thus was Zerg cursed with a patch and never again will they win a GSL.

Solid start with his new team.

I don't understand the put-downs towards Lz that I've seen lately. He did really well in the open bracket at the last MLG and is a pretty solid player.
I'm happy for Revival. I've been following his stream for a long time and hope he does well.

Sweet, will be interesting to follow how he does together with EG

They're not put-downs towards Lz. It's the acknowledgment that EG is a top team, and players in top teams are compared with other top players. I don't want to bash on Lz at all, but according to sc2earnings the man has made a total of 20 dollars in prize money in 2011 and 2012 combined. One or two acceptable runs in MLG aren't going to change that statistic.
So calling him a pretty solid player, considering he is in the nr.1 American based team, just doesn't make much sense. You're not supposed to compare him to Master level NA players.

Congrats to revival and eg! I'm just happy eg-tl is beefing up their team for the pro league haha

Sorry but where's the hype? I don't see many people saying he's going to win a bunch of tournaments or be eg's ace. Some signings are for team cohesion and to add depth. The press release clearly reveals that he's on good terms with eg players and they see value in him. People complain when eg sign top tier players and they complain when they sign lower tier players....People just like to complain about eg. Every Korean team has players who aren't code s, doesn't mean they don't play an important role.

EG has dem Moneys. Nice pick up, gotta say

Revivals one of my most favorite streamers to watch. I'm now a fan of EG once more.

Maybe he's there to be incontrols understudy. Same w/l same success! Why does this feel like a situation where a company more money than they know what to do with? More power to a E-Sports team that is financially successful. But at some point the announcers are going to say "Now for our finals we have EG<fill in the blank> versus EG<fill in the blank." I wonder who will win! More teams need to follow EG's business model or we will need to invoke anti-trust laws

EG should buy FD Trickster and Clide. Then EG woudl become exTSL

If there were a total of 100 sc2 players, EG would recruit 99 of them. And the one player they didn't recruit would probably win...most likely GoOdy - The Panzer General!
