You started off strong in the opening match. How do you feel?
I made a strong start in the first match, so now that the league has begun and I have a long schedule ahead of me, I will work hard to become even better.
How did you prepare for your game against Zenio?
When I looked Zenio up, I found nearly no information on him: the only games of his that I found were from long ago. Because of that, I played the using the style that I liked and focused on practicing with my teammates.
Knowing the player whom you were going to face in advance must not have been very helpful for you.
It really wasn't helpful to me. To be frank, not being able to find information on my opponent made me very nervous. However, I got a feeling that I would be able to win during the early game.
Don't you feel regretful that you weren't able to face Jaedong?
It's true that I wanted to play a match against Jaedong, but there are still a lot of opportunities left since there are so many more rounds. I want to face him often.
During today's match, you went for a quick Raven build.
The Raven got buffed before the season started, so I was able to use it to make the build that I had originally thought of much more efficient. If you use the Raven like the Science Vessel from Brood War, you can get a lot out of it. When used like a Vessel, it's quite useful for eliminating Creep and burrowed Banelings.
Why do you think that EG-TL fell apart so completely?
I think the difference was in how prepared we were. It hasn't been long since their teams united, and they haven't had much experience with the team house lifestyle, so we had an advantage in those areas. We just prepared as we always do for Proleague, and it was great that we were able to face EG-TL early on.
We're curious to hear your thoughts on the newly introduced maps.
I personally feel great that the old BW maps have returned, but I don't think they're good maps for Terran (laughs). The maps are too large, and it's difficult to scout Pylon locations when playing against Protoss. But still, I think that if I keep studying the maps, I can obtain good results.
We're curious to hear what resolutions you've made for yourself this season.
I did very poorly last season, so I want to take back my title of "King of Most Wins". I want to achieve results that are worthy of my team name and make sure that we take the championship.
Do you have anything more to say?
I feel great about being able to meet the fans for the first time in a long while. My teammates prepared very hard; even while others took breaks, we didn't rest at all. Because we came in nearly last place during the previous season, it's only natural that we practiced so much. Since we've come back much stronger, I hope that people have high expectations for us in the future.
Nice interview. I was very impressed with Flash's game sense today when compared to a month ago. He seems to really be getting the hang of Starcraft 2.
Thank your Flash and Wooki for helping my fantasy team. It is much appreciated. Also I have Crazy-Hydra so thank you for appearing in the line up and for KT winning
Flash's macro looked so on point that game, no over queues or under queues, minerals floating at double digits consistently, was just madness. His micro was definitely lacking in some places though.

Flash looked so solid that game with great decision making as well as clean and precise macro. Pushing aggressively and handling Zenio's counters almost perfectly was a beautiful sight. It's awesome he found a way to incorporate ravens into his play and I hope we get to see more of that.

In all seriousness though Flash has a point: Terrans waste 10-20 scans per game (minimum) to clear creep and have some detection.... I think Flash has already showed how little current players know and not just Terrans. His sim-city is already changing how people build their fortifications. And he's already doing pretty cool stuff with builds. He'll be a real innovator in HotS too. I think all people have been saying for awhile is that making one Raven is more economical than what Terran currently do - it seems like Flash agrees.
Notice one thing that Doa keep mentioning during the whole game in Flash v Zenio which is his macro is so good but you have to realized from what background flash comes from he practically owned everyone in broodwar with pure macro and if he wants he could just sit on 3 bases the whole day and let you try all you want but you will fail . Nevertheless I think this is how flash begins just like batman begins .

Kinda similar to Bomber. Their macro is so incredibly strong that they can pretty much only do what's absolutely necessary in terms of micro before they switch back to macromode.
Also good start for my fantasy team. Already worth it making Flash my captain.
I was hoping Flash would make more than one raven and we'd see a throwback to some SK Terran. But one is enough and Flash's confirmation that they are good is going to make Avilo mad as fuck
Finally someone realized what Ravens are useful for. Took players long enough... but yeah it's Flash so all terrans probably waited for him to give it his seal of quality.

Actually, no, it was very very polished. E-bay block precisely because taking the third as a replacement to the natural is not as desireable on the map? Polish. Tons of building clutter at his ramp in case of early baneling response to the e-bay block yet NOT having any traffic/congestion/trapped unit problems? Polish. Building a raven as an extension of a hellion/banshee production regime? Polish. And bloody freaking obvious. Not even for the creep/burrowed banelings, but burrowed infestors getting into tank lines pretty much doesn't happen with a raven around, something that has been crushing marine/tank lately.

GOD YOUNG HO !
To be fair most top BW players had nearly perfect macro for the early and mid-game. Flash's edge was defending with less, sometimes taking smart risks, and turning the extra econ into deadly timing attacks or favourable late games.

Yeah, I noticed this in particular too. I think that was one of the most well thought-of and organized building placement patterns I've ever seen Terran do.

Except the screwed up depot... though that may have been his master plan. Zenio could have run into his base faster if he busted through the depots but instead his doods pathed around and took forever. [/conspiracy bisu]
