After 6 months with Fnatic, ByuL has decided to leave the team.
FnaticRaidCall is sad to announce that Han "ByuL" Ji Won will be leaving our StarCraft 2 squad. ByuL is a relatively new member of the Fnatic family, joining the Fnatic Academy this March and being promoted to the Professional squad soon after. He made huge strides as a player during the time that he wore the Black and Orange, and our line up will miss his reliable Zerg play.
ByuL was one of the most consistent members in our team leagues. In the GSTL 2012 Season 2, he scored 4 straight wins against Incredible Miracle (including victories over Seed and NesTea). He also did very well in the EG Master's Cup Series, often giving our team a win when we needed it the most, as well as frequently being our Ace player. We are sad to see ByuL leave, but we wish him luck wherever he winds up.
On another note, Fnatic Academy member Ares will be stepping away as well, to continue his career elsewhere.
Statements Han "ByuL" Ji Won: I am leaving Fnatic having met good people and with fond memories. While I may be leaving Fnatic, the remaining players on the team have unlimited potential and so I am certain they will do well in the future. Finally I would like to express my gratitude to Elroy and Patrik for their constant support.
Elroy "Noname" Pinto, SC2 Manager: Tough time for us to lose ByuL like this, he has come a long way in the time he has spent with us and we're grateful to have nurtured such a player in our team. He went from Academy to Professional and is just at the cusp of breaking into the top tier. I wish him the best of luck in the future.

Wow, this was very unexpected for me. I wonder what king of plans he has for the future.
|
|
I believe new team. Hes got too much going for him in starcraft 2 now to switch to another game.

I doubt it's LoL since he just qualified for Code A.

Best of luck to byul in what ever he attempts next.

WAAAAAAAAAAT
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO (((((((((((((((((((((((
ByuL was one of the cornerstones in the lineup, and even the most consistent fnatic lately
Iam a sad Panda...
|
Hmm first Rain retiring, now Byul leaving and Ares as well combined with rumors of a EU teamhouse for fnatic and all their foreigners leaving korea, I wonder what's going wrong in korea for them.
gl to both byul and fnatic in the future though!
|
This is just Byulshit T_T
I hope he finds a great team to join.
|
|
goodluck to your future byul
|
Wow! Didn't expect this at all considering he just made it into Code A. I guess he feels like its time to go back to a team based in Korea.
|
Fnatic's getting quite weak, new blood is needed
|
I always felt like there was no reason for Ares to be on the "academy team" and not on the real roster to be honest. I can imagine both of them felt a little unappreciated in Fnatic
gl to Ares and ByuL
also why do you not include Ares in the headline? Makes no sense at all
|
On November 14 2012 02:10 LeLfe wrote: Fnatic's getting quite weak, new blood is needed
naw, they have quite a few good players left. I wouldn't call them weak at all.
|
Ares left a while Ago. And has since joined the New Korean team MJ. That has been known for about a month now. I'm suprised they waited so long to say anything.
|
Random guess:
Rain and ByuL have to make room for some big guns like MMA and Genius...
I wouldnt be surprised actually, fnatic is still one of the wealthiest organisations.
Still sad about ByuL, they should have removed J, lol...

|
That's pretty surprising.
|
ByuL said before in his 1st interview that he was glad that KeSPA switched to SC2 and he felt jealous that he left KHAN.
Lately, Kespa players are playing both games concurrently. How do you feel about that? I was playing Starcraft 2 back in Samsung Khan as well. I am a little bit jealous (laugh). However, I left the team of my own accord so it’s okay. I think I’m doing fine now.
|
That makes 5 teamless players/players with unannounced teams in Code A.
|
I expect to see Fnatic picking up a few big name players soon to fill their roster for GSTL.

They got aLive from a full functioning TSL roster, they got Oz from a ridicolous powerful FXO lineup.
Money talks, wouldnt be surprised if they "steal" viOlet from Azubu or Jjakji from HoSeo.

why should he? hes gaining nothing there, and he could afford his life better with a 2k paycheck each month, lol
Azubu is a one man show, pretty much like SK..

Hope that is only a temporary set back for Fnatic.
They lost Rain, ByuL and Ares in a matter of weeks. Moon isn't living up to expectations, aLive and Oz are in a slump compared to when they joined Fnatic and J keeps losing. They didn't list DeParture either O.o Did he leave as well?
Hope Fnatic recuperates!

Would they even want Jjakji? He hasn't accomplished much in the past few months and let his team down a ton in the team leagues. Also Azubu runs one of the most successful LoL teams, so they have the monies, they just don't invest in SC2 that much.

Agree, he has a 13-5 GSTL record in the last 6 months. It's ridiculous to say he let NSH down.

That really sucks . I feel like he's got a lot better while he was on Fnatic and he also just got Code A so he probably shouldn't have too much problems finding a new team. Hope he gets picked up soon, really good player. gl!

wow, what a bold statement. you realise fnatic is the top 1 CS 1.6 organisation ever, having 3 rosters in the Top 10 best 5-man combos of all alltime? (with a combined prizemoney of far over 500.000 $)
http://www.fragbite.se/?blogID=9&postID=10366
always thought their SC2 team should feature only high calibre players, they have got tons of sponsors, but many unnecessary teams like Halo or DoTA 2 whom they probably waste money on...

Azubu directly sponsors their players. Azubu is not a team, its a company, and their investment in eSports is very focused, so they can afford to give viOlet a sizable salary - something which Fnatic, despite how huge they are, can't possibly compete with. Azubu has one SC2 player..Fnatic has eight, all of whom have to be paid. (academy players probably don't get paid, but still). Also, I had read somewhere what the salaries of their CS team were, and they weren't out of this world - afaik they were around 1,600GBP a month, but its been years since I read the article in question.

ByuL showed some really strong performances in teamleagues, wouldn't be surprised to see him picked up sometime pretty soon.

it's been rumoured that Azubu is setting up a team, rather than sponsoring individuals, so they would have a SC2 team + 2 LoL teams under the Azubu name, i'm not sure if this is still their end goal, but it wouldn't surprise me, they certainly have the funds for it afaik

Well Ares is going to the same place as B-Money (BboongBboong) so ByuL might be following him or just going to another team. I imagine he would be pretty hire-able and since Fnatic doesn't have a trade lock with KeSPA he might head back to his old team.

He must be joining a kespa team, I can't see any other reason to leave such a big team like fnatic otherwise. Like he has a team house and probably some salary there. So I hope we hear some news soon where he is off to.

It's true that Millenium is about to annouce a "very strong zerg" (Llewellis), and that he might be Korean, but ByuL does not fit nevertheless. He just qualified for Code A and, as far as I know, never showed any will to live in Europe.

Actually, Llewellis announced that the new zerg player is neither European nor Korean... So he is either from NA or Moonglade or Sen

I'm guessing EG, Hwanni was the one to recruit him for Fnatic. But since he's on EG now, he might've brought ByuL with him.
|
That sucks.. Fnatic just lost a strong player : (
|
|
Always been a fan of ByuL, he just qualified for Code A so I wonder what team he is going to go to, I am going to guess a KeSPA team since that is where he came from
|
Pretty sure he's going to a kESPA team.
|
Can he go to a kespa team with the trade agreement in place?

gl to both byul and fnatic in the future though!
I'm pretty sure Rain didn't retire and just go transfered to SKt1 seeing as fnatic isn't part of that ESF agreement thing.

Fnatic is not part of ESF, so he wouldn't be prohibited from joining a Kespa team. Pretty sure he is not going to a Kespa team though!

He "worked" for Fnatic when KR and Gretorp were their front line players. Xeris works for azubu lol Yea I had a friend who worked for Azubu also. Didnt mean he knew anything about their finances and sat at their board meetings, etc. Just working for an organization doesnt grant you infinite knowledge about it.
You're right I don't know ((

wow, seems like a good player! Good luck on future endeavors!

Aww man, I never really got to see ByuL...well, he was the first progamer I ever approached but still...
GL to ByuL and GL to Fnatic!!!
|
Well... I hope that he will rejoin to another sc2 team. Fnatic it's losing lots of players, it's getting pretty weak.

I wouldnt be surprised actually, fnatic is still one of the wealthiest organisations.
Still sad about ByuL, they should have removed J, lol... My random guess is that keeping their LoL team is gettting really expensive and MMA and Genius won't go there
their lol team isn't that great

So he dropped out of IPL5 as well. What does that mean?

That his new team, if he has a new team, is unable to/won't send him to IPL5?

=( sucks for Fnatic, but hopefully we see Byul on another team soon!! =)

Fnatic is considered a foreign team, so there are no trade agreements that would interfere. Same reason why Sea could leave T8 and join liquid without a problem.

Damn, ByuL is really good. I don't think he'll have too much of a problem finding a new home, wish him the best of luck anyway.
