Remember you can pre-order your copy through the TL store and help support Team Liquid! It's also an easy way to get a beta key! |

No, you receive a physical box from Amazon. You will need to enter the key from the box into your battle.net account at which point you can download it or install from the DVD. You will be able to play the beta using the digital download however. Really? what about when the game goes live? Will I have to wait for my box to arrive, or can I also download a digitally copy from blizzard? Additionally, doesn't amazon offer digital downloads for games? Are they not going to offer it for HoTS? Yes you need the key in the box to activate the game, so you can't play before you have the key. Pre-orders usually arrive on the day of release (and often even a day or two earlier) so you most likely wont have to wait longer than someone buying digitally.
Oh, okay. Didn't know that. I usually order my games digitally these days, or pick them up at midnight releases. Thanks!

Also to the people saying that's not full-price, I disagree. Full price isn't always 60 dollars, 60 dollars is for the most popular games. There's many full-price games at less than 40.
Also about the "that's like watching movies twice" argument, come on now. We're supposed to compare games to games, otherwise you could justify buying every game in the entire world.
It's too bad Blizzard hasn't yet found a way to utilize free-to-play in their games... You're missing defilers, right? :D

Is there any preorder program that gives europeans a beta key?
|
|
|
Just pre-ordered from Amazon. Hopefully they come through on their deal (it says they reserve the right to change or terminate the beta key offer at any time) and email me a beta key within 4 business days.
|
What can we do with the beta key?
Is it just multiplayer?
And once they send the beta key and we use it, what stops us from cancelling the pre-order? Hopefully the remove access of the beta too?
|
is this the digital or the physical CE? physical i guess for 80...
|
Yep their rushing Hots, for the stockholders. The last quarter was good for them, and with a double dip reccesion comming back after the end of the year, they need a guartee money maker. GG. Played beta? Its not even close to being ready, let alone called an xpac.

If you have multiple WoL accounts, will buying the expansion once allow all of your accounts to be HotS ones? Or do we need to buy an expansion for each account we have?
|
I have the Beta currently. Do i have to pay for HotS then?
|
That's not a bad deal for everything you're getting! If I have the funds I'll definitely get it. I hope the OST is more Brood War inspired.

Trying to figure out if I can order this being in Canada; it looks like this offer is USA only?

Is it possible to buy an EU version? Or, given global play, will the purchased game work with EU version automatically? Will the beta key be working with EU WoL? If you have an EU-WoL, you need EU-HotS. After installing HotS, you can use global play, but the expansion needs to region-match with the base game. Currently you can preorder HotS via European Amazon websites through the TL affiliate link (click on WoL and search for HotS manually), but you won't get a beta-key.
Thanks!
Nevertheless, that's racist!

Racism has very little to do with it, since both Europe and North America consist primarily of members of the Caucasian race.
You might call it discrimination, but it's much more likely that it's just an international company that hasn't got their local branches synched up properly yet and the EU-beta-key offer coming up soon.

Ill buy it as soon as i get money but def a great deal

Will you guy get it for Canadian too? Whenever it will be available?

$40 is one nights dinner out with friends. $40 is an IMAX movie with snacks and a drink. People need to be paid for the work they do. $40 isn't too much to ask at all. I'd pay $60, easily.
What other game have you purchased, other than Wings of Liberty, with such an insane amount of replay value, that people still play it? If these games have even half the life of Brood War, you don't think the $80 (for WoL and HoTS) is worth literally years upon years of entertainment?
I could play SC2, all day, every day and never need another game. When I'm not playing, I watch streams or vods. Nothing else provides that kind of entertainment for a one-time fee of $40. Even XBox has a subscription fee thats higher than the cost of HoTS, and it pales in comparison to the joy I get from SC2.
darn these fools/trollz.
