Hi, my name is Ruurk, I'm in charge of development at Eclypsia. We here at EC are proud to announce our partnership with Razer. We have hit some bumps along the way and made some mistakes, but we are continuously improving. We have turned over a new leaf and we hope you guys grant us the time to improve more and more.
Razer is one of the greatest peripheral manufacturers in the world and we feel that they not only produce the best equipment but also have great visions for eSports and the competitive scene. Eclypsia may be a relatively new team with its conception being in April 2012 but we have come along way.
We have had many bumps in the road but we have come through them and tried to learn from any mistakes that we made and are looking to continue improvement in the future. With our recent pickup of a DotA 2 team and some reshuffles with our shootmania team we are looking to pull out some major victories.
Razer are going to support us on our journey to greatness and enable us to continue attending and hopefully winning events.
"Their desire to grow e-Sports in new and interesting ways make them a great addition to Team Razer; I am excited to see what the future holds in store for e-Sports" - Robert "razerguy" Krakoff
“Over the years Razer has put a lot of dedication and resources into e-Sports and truly respects the competitive scene. This is just one of many reasons we were drawn to them. I believe Razer not only produces products by gamers for gamers but acts as an enabler to the teams we all love to see compete.” - Pierre "Sarens" Guivarch
About Razer:
Razer has been a pioneering supporter of e-Sports since its conception. It is in our blood and we are driven to further the culture of professional gaming in all that we do. We work hand in hand with our pros to forge weaponry for the players who stake their livelihood on podium placements. Our gear is designed to perform flawlessly in high-stress tournament conditions where winning is everything and mistakes cost championships. Those who compete with our equipment will attest that we live by our credo: For Gamers. By Gamers.
We look forward to all future work with Razer and we are sure together we can reach the top. Keep a look out for our teams and also the content we produce!

Nice job EC, hoping you can thrive and prosper, or at the very least moderately succeed(like I imagine millenium does cuz i dont pay attention to them cept when EG steals their players). Very nice and unexpected pickup.

Surprisingly calm sponsorship + announcement, gratz!
|
now this is the way to make an announcement, a nice well written post
thank you for stepping up your game EC
|
Good for you!
Quite a different way announce things, compared to how you usually do - this is much better

damnit you beat me to the punch. but in all seriousness, congrats to EC. hopefully the drama and shit they have caused in the community wont keep them from reaching their fullest potential. oh wait, but we're talking about the SC community.... so more luck to you!
|
Thank's guy, especially to Illusion !
|
seems like razer thinks ec is legit. Glad to see they're on the level.
|
Good to see some more evidence that esports companies can survive and in fact prosper despite being the target of the community's drama whoring.
|
congrats guys, good pick up
|
|
There must of been some mad negotiation going on to make this happen from EC's end. Congrats on the pick up, though I'm still a little weary about Eclypsia.

Thank you all for your comments. Please be aware you can contact us on our facebook pages or chat if you have any question or remarks. We'll make sure we answer you.

Really? Even after the treatment of your players and the streaming controversy that you guys were involved with?
I honestly have to admit that this announcement has made me lose some respect for razor - If they are unaware of your previous problems then they need to become more involved in the gaming community, if they are sponsoring you despite your problems then this has impacted razors image in my mind.
This sounds like I am being harsh and mean... But you have done nothing to convince me that you are less shady recently.

First of all, it's Razer and not Razor, you seem to dont have respect for them if you dont even know the name correctly my friend.

Apologies I spelt Razer incorrectly. But what has changed about your attitude towards your players and your future?
The incident involving Scarlett Joining and Leaving, link The dodgy Tournaments link The crazy meme contest The Sjow incident
Your explanation post didn't touch on any of these issues. And your answer about streaming linked on the front page never convinced me that it wasn't shady.
You should really consider employing someone with a small amount of public relations ability.
Edit: And look I am happy for you if you manage to organise your shit and make this work; but why should we as a community be praising you here when you have done absolutely nothing to convince anyone that you are not some dodgy half baked organisation in it purely for money.
I do not mean to keep bashing you, I would just like to be convinced!

congratualtions EC + Razer !

What is 'the Sjow incident'?

how many teams razer gonna sponsor?..
|
Yeah, Nike was really silly to stick with Lance Armstrong. Oh well, even big companies make silly mistakes when looking for exposure.

EC has good player though

I don't really like eclypsia either.. but your links aren't evidence of their incompetence... from what I read about the players splitting it was that eclypsia pulled out of korea and everyone on the team still wanted to go...
the tournaments link was actually a lot of hate and them still running a tournament... nothing in that thread talks about the tourny being bad... although there was references to the previous tourney where they had issues paying out...
you should add in stuff about unreasonable DOTA contracts... the questionable "marketing strategy to get viewers" etc...

Next time, i'll think about a drama to announce a sponsorship, look like it works more. (JOKE)

Congratulations on the sponsorship, I love seeing positive news happening in the SC2 scene. Keep up the good work!

serious? makeing this fake drama thread to get attention for a new sponsor? You must think we are stupid as fuck and hop on ANY drama. Ok, ok. If i read TL in last days, i can understand why you think that. But still: poor try.

The drama was out way after the sponsor anouncement
And its not really a drama, its just EC explaining why Sjow will be away currently.

Dont change much tho. Sure its not really drama. Its a bad drama try. But the drama bar raised a lot in last month. Its not that easy to get drama attention any-more.

Eclypsia suspending SjoW for a month for not filling his contract obligations, don't know why it's mentioned as an incident there though, seems like pretty standard procedure for any team.
Anyway, GL to Eclypsia.
